I called them when my air conditioner stopped working. They sent a guy out to look at it and charged me $98 to look. He said he would go back and speak to his boss and call me the following day. No call. The day after I called them, and they said they had to send a guy out to do an estimate, because the unit would have to be replaced. The guy came out and looked at the unit. I asked for a two-way estimate, since I was considering switching to a propane unit. He said someone would call within a couple days. After hearing nothing for a week, I called and was told that the estimate would take a little longer, because Danny (Harrelson) was waiting for parts (? the estimate was for a replacement of the entire unit) prices. This went on for FIVE WEEKS before I called someone else who had me fixed up with a new unit in less than a week. He also gave me my estimate before he left the first day and charged me nothing for coming out to look at my unit, and he told me that switching to propane would cost me twice what replacing my existing unit would. The Harrelson guy had told me it would be a cheaper way to go. I have dealt with some poor customer service in my 72 years, but I don't believe I have ever been made to feel so invisible and unimportant by a contractor.

I have used Harrelson for septic cleaning and portable toilet use for 10 years. They always do a great job for us and have had compliments from visitors about the cleanliness and odor of their portable toilets. Always return emailed questions promptly and their prices have always been fair.

Very disappointed with their overall performance. They were professional and I'm hoping their workmanship resolved my problem, but from the time they first diagnosed the problem and cleaned out my sewer line it took six weeks and a second call to get them back to finish the repair to my sewer line, plus an additional charge for cleaning it out a second time because it was backing up again! Fortunately, I have a backup gravity sump system because they forgot to plug the main sump back in! They didn't have to use the backhoe in my yard to dig, but chose to park it in my yard overnight which created deep ruts! So I'm out an additional $500 for a second clean out and now some additional but unnecessary lawn repair!

I had the same experience as Brooke! Over the phone stated $115 and charged me $172.50. When I inquired a person over the phone said it includes driving time. The person who performed service said he went to shop on his way to my home! So I ended up paying for his trip too! They can be honest and open about their billing practice! I will never seek their service again! If you do, then clearly discuss how much will have to pay as a total cost!

Buyer beware!!!! Was charged a 1/2 hour trip charge ($67.50) from Mattoon to Charleston at $135.00 per hour rate on a weekday during business hours. Called to inquire about the amount and spoke with Danny who said they charge the amount per hour they were originally called for. Since I called for a sewer clean out and they charge $135.00/hour for sewer clean out that is how they billed the trip even though their standard rate is $80.00/hour...total ripoff!!! When I pointed out the clear unfairness of this billing practice Danny couldn't have cared less. All he could respond to my complaint of unfair billing practices was that that's the way they have always done it and that I'm the first person ever to complain about it In other words if they can get by with gouging the customer they will most certainly do so. They cleaned out a tree root from my sewer line within 15-minutes of arriving on site and sewer back-up went down immediately but they spent an additional 1.25 hours @ $135.00/hour ""working"" on it - can you say scam??? I can!!! They also fixed a bathroom sink stopper that had become disconnected beneath the bathroom sink (took man 1/2 hour to reconnect) way too long in my opinion... total bill was $242.50...OUCH!!! Stay away!!! They were also rude and unprofessional addressing my billing concerns/questions.
