Awful service
When you call in, they pretend they can't hear you and disconnect the call
No direct contact and fails to complete a job
Never have I had such unprofessional service in Ct.

Last technician ( here for AC unit) removed parts and now heating system doesn't work

Do not recommend at ALL

We paid for a yearly contract that includes the cost of a system tune up and a discount on any repairs needed. When we tried to schedule our maintenance for this year, they told me they had no availability until January- which would mean a new billing cycle and that they charged me for a year/tune up they didn't provide. After complaining about this and asking for a refund, the dispatch person was somehow able to squeeze us in for a week later. However, they called 30 minutes before our appointment and cancelled, and then tried to reschedule for the end of November. We were told by their techs not to turn on our heat before the filters are changed because two years in a row the lines clogged when we did that.. so we have no heat yet. The supervisor told us to just turn on our heat anyway, even though it causes our system to break, because ""if our system breaks, they could come out the same day to fix it."" So the only way we could get someone to come out before the end of November was to have a broken system- that we would then have to pay to repair.. but then would still have to wait until November for the maintenance, so maybe it would break again. Harp has not been the same since they were bought out and the fact that so many of their techs are quitting speaks to how mismanaged it is now. The call center doesn't know what they're doing and you get transferred around between more and more people who don't know how to help you. When you finally get to someone who can help, they're super rude. This company isn't worth the hassle and we have found a new company to work with that knows how to hold up their end of a contract.

If you have used HARP Home Services in West Hartford in the past - BE WARNED. They have been bought out by a company not in the state and are now not as responsive to our needs as in the past. We called about an A/C issue that involved a medical emergency. They did not show up, their call center was unresponsive, and their customer service person finally called back 5 DAYS LATER. For our situation, after day one we did go with another service that came that day.

I had an appointment scheduled for today, 9/14/23 between 4pm and 8pm. I've been a customer with this business for several years, even replaced my system through them last year with a service contract. My appointment was confirmed TWO times, first by some nasty bitch in the office, then the tech. At 5:50ish PM, nasty bitch calls to tell me that the tech isn't coming and I need to reschedule! I ask for a supervisor or manager; bitch tells me that no one is available until tomorrow morning and the only way to contact one is for her to email her. NOT ACCEPTABLE!! I did not rearrange my day just to have to do it again tomorrow!! Bitch continues the lies but I am NOT THE ONE!! Not today!! Am I supposed to believe there's only one tech?? I'm done with the attitude I'm getting from this bitch(she wouldn't tell me her name so I gave her one that fits her ignorant uncouth attitude). I disconnected and called back. I got someone else who DID get the supervisor for me. I spoke with the supervisor, advising him of the issue. While I'm on hold I get an email to confirm my appointment for TOMORROW between 2p-6p! I didn't schedule it!! BITCH took it upon herself to put me in any slot she felt like. I wish I could have them take this damned unit back! If their ""new"" way of doing business is like what happened today, I want nothing to do with them!! BITCH could have done what Savanna did and got the supervisor when I asked for one(THANK YOU Savanna). The supervisor got someone out here before 8(Thanks Dan). The tech(Dorian, THANK YOU) fixed the issue in less than 10 minutes!! I'm writing all of this to say that the ignorant uncouth BITCH could have done the same thing!! But no! She's going to try and make me take what she wants to give me, and her nasty attitude, and be happy with it!! HELL NO!! If she's the kind of employee you have representing the company, you will be losing a lot more customers. BITCH needs to realize that she gets paid because of customers and the business from the CUSTOMERS!! She needs to be fired. I am not the one; not today or any day! I paid for a service, was given 2 confirmation calls, and I EXPECT to get what I have paid for. I'm sick of these companies who think they can shovel any kind of shit at me and I will just take it and say nothing!! Well, I am NOT that person. So when my service contract is up for renewal, you can thank BITCH for me taking my business elsewhere!!

I can't express how disappointed and furious I am with Harp Plumbing. As a return client who initially had a great experience in 2021 and a so-so one in 2022, this third encounter in July 2023 was an absolute nightmare!

(By the way, in a follow-up survey after the service, Harp asked whether you have a Yelp account, I guess they're also aware of their poor but authentic reputation on this platform. Good job, Yelp!)

Quality of Work (1 out of 5 stars):
The service they provided was far from satisfactory. I needed a simple toilet and sink replacement (old fixtures were functional, and new fixtures were in the garage adjacent to the bathroom), and the technician, Matt, made it seem like it was a complex task - I trusted his judgment because I thought Harp was reliable. However, it took him less than 3.5 hours to finish ""a full-day job"", and the quality was horrendous. (1) The vanity wasn't secured to the wall, leaving a 3/4"" gap because Matt said he ""doesn't touch tile"" (tile baseboard). (2) Pipe rings were missing or not put back properly - note that they charged $246 for ""misc system alteration and adjustment"", which I thought should at least provide some non-expensive parts like the pipe rings! Matt cut the fixture packages into pieces in my garage and refused to take them away. It was such a mess! See the attached photos for the above-mentioned issues.

Value for Money (1 out of 5 stars):
Guess how much I paid for the service? They charged me an exorbitant amount, a whopping $2,249 (pre-taxes) for the job, excluding some essential work that they conveniently skipped - so basically it's a 600+ dollar hourly rate. I later found out that they overcharged me by a mile, considering how basic the job actually was. But even given such a premium price I paid, see the quality of the work/service I got!

A licensed pro from Thumbtack quoted me $680 for the same work, including the tile baseboard cutting to secure the vanity that Harp refused to do and hauling away the old fixtures. Later, I had to spend an extra $380 (pre-taxes) to fix Harp's shoddy work - they basically re-did the vanity replacement when they needed to cut the baseboard tile.

Customer Service Experience (1 out of 5 stars):
Their customer service was equally disappointing. After complaining with many calls to their front desk, I was promised a callback by Melissa, but she vanished into thin air after initially offering a low amount refund, which I rightfully declined and never got. She assured me that she understood my feelings and would need to escalate this to their management team for the approval of a large amount. I never heard back from her or her teammates. The lack of communication and accountability from Harp's end is utterly frustrating.

In conclusion, my experience with Harp Plumbing was a complete letdown. I've filed a formal BBB complaint and won't hesitate to seek legal recourse if necessary. My advice: steer clear of this plumbing company and find a more trustworthy and reasonably priced alternative. This is especially important if you're a return client; don't let their past reputation fool you!

This company has one of the most unprofessional customer services I have ever encountered. The work techs have no fault in my experience. Rather, the company seems to be completely disconnected from the top to dispatch services. Pending a home sale, I paid in full, a 10k plus a/c service which still had follow up work to be completed due to missing equipment/parts. It's been over two weeks and I have not received a single email or call to follow up. Upon calling customer service, none of their reps,3 plus supervisor to be precise, took any responsibility to rectify this.

Everyone who answered the call seemed to be in an oblivious state of mind. Up until this day, I'm yet to hear from this company with regards to the incomplete job in my home. I'm not one to complain about service but this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company service for anyone who uses them. My experience doesn't have to be yours, but somehow I felt it in my gut from my first interaction on the phone, that this was going to be a circus. It is. Good luck.

Central air stopped working, (air was coming out, but it wasn't cold). A tech came by and diagnosed the problem. Said was $2k just for parts, then amended that and said would be over $5k to fix including labor and would be best to get new system as he wasn't sure how long fix would last. He also said the Freon was slightly low, other company techs said that can't test that unless the system is running, which it wasn't.

A sales guy came by within 2 hours and said to get new central air would be $19k and to get a split heat pump $23k.

I got 2 other quotes, for repair and new systems, both said they could fix it for under $600 and basically said that components break or wear out, after all the system is 21 years old. They did say that they could go again if there's another underlying issue, but for $600 should start with the fix and not spend thousands replacing the system.
And their quotes were 50% less for switching out the CA as new regulations don't come in until 2025 and so can use the same air handler, (Harp told me I had to change everything), but even if changed the air handler as well the quotes were 25% less.

Seems that Harp is less interested in fixing problems and more interested in making big ticket sales and overcharging those by 25%-50%

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH HARP. They offer a good product, but they asked us to sign a contract with obvious errors! To make matters worse, their sales manager offered a remedy, but then stopped answering emails and voicemails about it. Here's the story - we selected HARP for our new AC system, had an installation date, then got the contract. We overlooked contract's misspellings, and extended warranty period that was a number - just a number - no units. Was it years, months, or weeks? The biggest problem was the statement 'see separately provided warranty document for complete details on the extended warranty.' We asked for it - only to be told it's NOT AVAILABLE - even though the contract itself says 'buyer(s) understand that he/she should read all written warranties... before he/she signs the agreement'. It was explained to us that HARP had a new contract software that referenced a document that was still under review. I understand things aren't always perfect, but HARP left us hanging.

I'll start with the good. The technicians that came to my house were professional and were ready to get the job done. The technicians quickly realized that they were not given the correct dimensions for the project. They had to stop working to get the corrected sizes to install the duct work. By the time they received the new duct work it was almost time for them to leave. The were not able to complete the job. Mind you there were two units that needed to be installed. They were only going to install one because they didn't get the correct duct work for the second. I tried calling the main office but no one would take my call. I was put on hold, I was disconnected several times, I was told that someone would call me back. No one ever called me back. Before I signed the contract they were calling me every day. After signing the contract I can't reach anyone. Don't believe their BS about customer service. It does not exist. If you do business with them make sure after you speak to the shady sales person you get a tech to come out and take measurements to ensure they have the correct dimension to get the job done correct. I will never use this company again!!
