We recently reached out to Carlos for assistance for the second time following our fantastic experience two weeks prior. I left a review on their official site for his first effort, but came to notice they don't have a single review here yet...so I wanted to take the opportunity to get them going here on the right foot. As such, this review will make mention of both of our recent experiences.

A little over two weeks ago we decided to take the plunge and hopefully fix an issue with our kitchen faucet that we had been dealing with over the course of the last few months. What started as an extremely minor leak that dripped from one corner of the base into the sink eventually turned into a larger problem that leaked both above and below our sink, pooling water on top and creating an unpleasant odor underneath.

I'm not the handiest when it comes to DIY jobs, but I was fairly confident I could do this myself. Nope! It didn't take long before realizing I was in way over my head, and I clearly didn't have the tools or the know how to take care of it myself. Defeated but determined, I started calling around to various options within my area, and my initial impression with the first few I contacted were so negative I found myself researching my problem on youtube with the idea that I would just have to go it alone, because I was being quoted some absolutely RIDICULOUS prices for swapping out a faucet and fixing a small leak that was not hidden and out in the open.

Well....despite making a little more progress this time around, once again I hit a road block and it came down to tools and know how, and the last thing I needed was a flooded kitchen a few days before a party we had been planning over the course of the last six weeks.

So I sat back down on the couch and resumed the search for a plumbing company that made the right impression, and after a few more negative experiences I found Carlos, aka The Happy Cowboy Plumber.

The initial experience was nothing out of the ordinary, until it wasn't. It was approaching 4pm and I called in hopes of an estimate and to set up an appointment if the estimate sparked joy. It did. After being pleasantly surprised in contrast to the 11 alternatives I tried beforehand, I was told that same day service was no longer available due to his current schedule, but he could stop by early on the following day. That sounded great, so I scheduled an appointment for noon and he was right on time.

My immediate impression of Carlos is that he does not represent the status quo in regards to his standing within his chosen field. You know how those smell good plumber ads warn against hiring ""Bubba?"" Carlos is no Bubba. He was prompt, warm, courteous, knowledgeable, and personable.

I led him to the sink and after getting a feel for what needed to be done, he decided to take on the job right then and there. I later came to learn that is not always how things go, as sometimes an initial visit is required to possibly adjust the estimate based on seeing the extent of the issue first hand. But in this case his initial estimate based on describing the issue over the phone to his wife Cecilia, who helps run the business, was sufficient. Carlos headed back to his truck to snag his tools, and within a few minutes was back and ready to go.

Two hours later not only did we have a new faucet expertly installed, but every leak below our sink was gone, with precautionary measures taken both above and below included in his service.

We all hate paying bills, but I was glad to pay this one, and grateful it was for an amount that was so reasonable and within our means. Especially in comparison to the competition. It turns out there's a very specific reason for this. There's no middle man. Carlos has been working as a plumber for a little over 15 years, but until recently always for someone else. As a result he worked hard for peanuts while his employer took the vast percentage of the profits. One day he rightly said no more, and when the time felt right, he decided to go it alone independently and start Happy Cowboy Plumber with his wife, and they haven't looked back since.

This is starting to turn into war and peace, so I'll try and wrap this up.

As soon as the job was done I knew we would be hiring him again for future work at another residence. Our second residence has a variety of long standing issues in desperate need of repair that have been going from bad to worse lately to the degree that they simply couldn't be put off any longer. We shared our experience with Carlos and Cecilia and he was willing to trust my judgement and roll the dice one more time. And Carlos ROCKED IT.

Finally, after YEARS of sputtering, hard water, leaks and other issues...he has a working shower again. It took 5 hours but it's DONE. And now he's actually looking forward to future fixes That says it all.

Problems with the toilet are never fun but at least you can rest assured that Happy Cowboy ( I still get a kick out of the name) can get it fixed but without harming my wallet. The clog was caused by my chil dropping, yup you guessed it, toys! They were quick and efficient and most importantly clean - I would recommend them.
