Company Overview
Proudly serving families across Minnesota for more than 80 years! We focus on providing the best products and services to ensure our customers' comfort and safety.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do at Hanson's Plumbing & Heating. As a comprehensive heating, cooling, and plumbing provider, we have been family-owned and operated since the early 1930s. We tackle everything from dripping faucets to new furnace installations. We want our clients to experience comfort in their homes and trust in our services. We are steadfast and focused on getting the job done, no matter what it takes.
No project is too big or too small for our certified team, from furnace repairs to air conditioning maintenance and plumbing installations. Our service is quick and reliable across the Central Minnesota/Lakes Area. For those unexpected emergencies, we are available 24/7, ensuring you’re back on track in no time.
The history of Hanson's Plumbing & Heating began in the early 1930s with Henry Hanson’s hardware store in Vergas, Minnesota. He opened the family business to meet the needs of his community and was affectionately known as Hardware Hank. With the transition of ownership from father to son, we opened a second location in Perham and expanded our offerings to include HVAC and plumbing services.
Though the world has transformed over the years, our steadfast commitment to our customers has remained constant. I am a fourth-generation owner of Hanson’s Plumbing & Heating, dedicated to continuing our family tradition of ensuring our clients feel at ease. I understand that calling a service like ours isn’t always a pleasant experience, but we have assembled an outstanding team to make your experience as stress-free as possible.
I served four years in the Air Force and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting before returning to the family business.

had them do some work on my water heater that was not working properly. first just called for a diagnostic check. got it narrowed down to a bad part. when asked what I would like to do I wanted a price quote. I was told they could not do that cause they didn't know what the part would cost. so agreed to if it was less than $200 for the part lets just get it fixed if more than that let me know I may just want to replace it. a week later they called to set an appointment so I asked how much it would be? I was told I just set appointment don't know the cost and being I told the tech if it was less than $200 we'll just fix it I guessed it was less and set the appointment. NOT THE CASE as they came and installed the part and then I asked for the bill and was told we'll send it to ya. thought well I can pay it when it comes then no big deal. about 3 weeks later the bill comes for $613 total AND $277 FOR THE PART $110 an hour labor. I could get the part myself for half the price when I looked it up and think they charged double time on the labor. I FEEL RIPPED OFF as I wanted a price before it was done and was in understanding if was more than $200 for the part they would let me know . For that price I would have replaced the water heater at more cost probably but had new. just saying
D S.My contractor hired them to install our plumbing and furnace system a few years ago. We have had 3 major problems since. First we had a water leak from an overheated fitting for our shower. A pin hole leak of water. $30,000 of damage. Then the dishwasher leaked. Again poor installation. Finally we learn that the humidifier was never installed properly and has never been working. Will never use this company again. Have used Esser to fix this mess and have been very happy with them.
My 31 year old furnace went out this spring. I called Hansons not knowing anything about them or any other HVAC businesses in the area but read about their company being family owned and I liked that. Everyone I dealt with from repair to sales and installation of my new furnace was very kind and professional, knowledgeable, and they even helped me with rebates and such. I also had them install a reverse osmosis unit and a water line to my fridge so I now have the BEST water and ice EVER! They were respectful and careful not to leave a mess. I can't say enough about them, just wonderful to work with and I am thankful I chose Hanson's.
