Company Overview

We are a licensed and fully insured locally owned handyman service. We offer flexible financing for all credit levels. We specialize in electrical services, plumbing, woodworking, drywall repairs, interior painting, deck repairs, fence repairs, among other services. Whatever your home repair or installation needs may be, I will deliver individualized service and the quality service you deserve.

I have spent my entire life working in maintenance and remodeling, I now run my own business instead of working for someone else. As the owner and handyman, I possess two decades of experience in home renovations and maintenance. My wife manages the business and is toughest boss I have ever had. My brother-in-law and uncle assist me in the work. I started this business with a commitment to putting the customer first and ensuring quality work rather than just high volume. I make it a point to walk through with the client after each job to verify their satisfaction before presenting the final invoice.

Joel doesn't warranty work after 3 months. Was told it would be warrantied for one year. The repair from July failed and he claims the water meter shifted on its own. Somehow the one right next to it is ok. Overcharged from the beginning. Was told here is an hourly rate and what I was billed for way more hours than he was actually on site. I wasn't there at the time, but he also didn't know the tile setter that was at the house is a friend of mine and mentioned the original repair did not take as many hours as he billed me. Don't trust and beware. Lots of leaking video as well, just can't post.

UPDATE*********

Had someone come out and fix the problem. They charged me $135 and also mentioned the way he fixed it originally was part of the issue. Like I mentioned above Joel over billed me for the same work charging $525. I personally do not trust him.

Do not hire this guy. He hooked up a kitchen sink and the first time I turned it on it leaked. This was Right after he left. And the dishwasher is not getting any water. I called several times and he never returned my call. People like this should be against the LAW!!!!

I hired Joel Dellinger to replace the carpet upstairs in my home with laminate. I paid him $2,000 up front and was to pay the balance of 1800 when he finished the job. He started the work and never finished the project. He would call and state he would be here the next day at 9:30, that "next day" never did arrive. I had to hire a separate contractor to finish the job Joel never finished. Don't ever hire this liar.

I made the mistake of hiring Joel Dellinger,Sr. aka Handyman Services of San Marcos to remodel my back patio. His contract specified that material costs over $1000 must be paid up front. We had a contract, so I thought I was safe by giving him the money for materials. What a mistake!!
He started the project and then abandoned the project. At that point, he only purchased a few of the least expensive materials. He did not respond to any requests to refund the amount that he had not spent on materials.
I ended up requesting an arbitration hearing (at my expense) as stated in the contract he provided. Joel did not choose to participate. After the arbitrator ruled in my favor, he still didn't refund the money. The next step was taking him to small claims court. He did show up for the trial this time. The judge ruled in my favor again for the original refund that I requested plus all legal fees accrued for a total of $3435.56. Again, I am still waiting for my money that Joel has refused to pay!!

I had Joel change fascia boards and corner boards around my house. First of all, he was suppose to use hardy board for the fascia boards. He did not. Then on top of that, he didn't complete the job. Which I'm glad he didn't. The 2/3 of the work that was completed was horrible! I have taken pictures of the so-called finished work, and using it as evidence in small claims court. Everything that has been done will have to be repaired all over again.

We had used Joel in the past and called him for a job that he quoted $12,000 to do, he asked to be paid up front and then did not finish the job. Unfortunately, I didn't get a bid in writing so we are out over $6,000 and he will not return the money or provide the materials that were part of the cost. It's a shame because we had used him in the past and he was better then. There is no excuse for this.

I highly recommend this service. I needed a plumbing job done and he was able to work med in the same day. He was timely, efficient, very nice, and did the job very well. It was nice to have someone show up on time and not make excuses for why he couldn't do the job. Will definitely call again

Joel came to my home to do some electrical diagnosing and did an outstanding job! He was very knowledgeable, made the repair, and marked the outlet wires so that an appliance technician can come and install my new oven. Joel's price was exceptional for all the work he did and he walked through my home with me to discuss other projects I want done. I highly recommend him.

BUYER BEWARE

I called Joel to do work at my property, and asked him for information relating to rate, schedule, etc. I also emailed him a small punchlist of repairs. Most important, because of the forecast for rain, was to replace some shingles on my rental property.
Joel agreed to the work, and said he would come to my property and put two men to work at a rate of $70.00/hour. He said he was busy, but scheduled me out about 10 days. He promised to be at my property on that Tuesday morning between 8:30 and 9:00 AM.
Tuesday morning I got up, secured the dogs and the livestock, and waited for Joel. After a couple hours waiting, I called to find out if he's coming. Joel said his alternator went out, but he would let me know. I waited all day, and nothing.
Next morning at 8:10 he called, said he is on his way. I secured the animals again, and waited. He showed up at 10:30 with two men. I told him I was leaving out of town in the morning, be gone for a week, and don't start anything he can't finish today. Heavy rains were coming, and I don't want materials sitting out in the elements. Joel left to buy materials, took one worker with him? and left one worker on-site. Joel and the second worker came back - three hours later - dropped off about $400.00 worth of materials and left for the day. He said that it was too hot to replace the shingles, but he would replace them in the morning - never happened.
Then, at 3:30, after 5 hours of work, the ONE worker packs up his tools, and hands me a bill for $1400.00 ($726.00 materials). I thought that was nuts - let's see the materials receipt. Materials were marked up by over $100.00, and he charged a $75.00 "service charge" on top of that. He charged me 7 hours of labor despite only 5 hours of work. He charged $50.00/hr for one man, instead of $70.00/hr for two.
Instead of giving his man (nice guy, good worker) the $35.00/hr split, I gave him a check for 5 hours @ $50.00/hr for $250.00. I told his man to please take the materials with him. Since we were leaving at 4:30AM the next morning, I told him we would work out the (significant) differences upon our return. Our main concern (replace the shingles) was never completed and was rained on, the jobsite is half demo'd now, and the demo'd materials remain on our property.

While we were gone, we got a call from a process server. Yes, Joel is suing us.
