Recommended Customer Reviews

Although off to rocky start, I first called 4 times in summer of 15, with only one response, and no show. I figured I would try again this summer after hiring a plumber, an electrician, a painter, and a general handyman for things needed around the house, piece-mealing it out.. This summer was a completely different experience. Calls were promptly returned, excellent work done, pleasant and experienced worker. I was so happily surprised. I think maybe they may have been overwhelmed last year as this is a service so needed in this community. I plan on recommending them to everyone one who needs anything done around their property. This last job was small but as anyone who has a house knows, there's always something that needs repairing/replacing/renewing. And to find in all in one place? Heaven! Good job guys.Thank you so very much.

Ricky did an excellent job with my ""honey-do"" list. Great attention to detail and so happy to know that this fantastic service is available in Tahoe! Thank you!

Highly recommend this company. I had quick phone response to set up an appointment, and my plumbing issue was resolved faster than expected. Great communication throughout the process.

This service must be a hoax, joke, and the reviews false. I called them twice and never heard back. I even patiently waited 3 days between calls before I called again thinking they were super busy. I would say the 1 star reviews are the legit reviews and the 4-5 star reviews are false. Don't waste your time calling.

Fantastic service. I sent a repair request by email, received a call the following day, and Cory was out repairing a river rock stone wall and replacing driveway wood trim the following day. Fast and Reasonable! That's a hard to beat combination.

A tree branch fell and took out a section of our wood fence. The person who I normally call to help out with our house was not returning my calls. I went to Yelp and typed in fence for South Lake Tahoe. Was just about to call a company when I thought, I did not look at the reviews. After looking at the reviews, I am glad I did not call this fence company. I noticed that Handy Man Hotline had great reviews so I called.
While I was on the phone with the woman scheduling the repair, I also noticed in the list of items said that they ""rake"". I scheduled the repair for the fence as well as a rake for all our pine needles. The following day when I was waiting the arrival of our Handy Man, I received a phone call that stated there was a miscommunication with the schedule. I received an apology and was told that my repair would be done the following day.
In the past, I have experienced miscommunication with scheduling service and waited until I had to call and follow up. In this case, the phone call at the time I was waiting for service went a long way!
The gentleman who repaired my fence and raked the pine needles was very polite, worked hard and did a phenomenal job. I offered him water, something to drink and he smiled and said, no thank you, I have water with me.
After the job was done, I received an invoice via email. On the invoice was a ""pay now button"" and I was able to pay right away with a credit card. From start to finish, my experience was great.

Handyman Hotline Tahoe is a very professional business. James Fain provided estimates that were reasonable. He also sent precise time and material invoices daily. I was kept informed on a daily basis of the project's progress. Before & after pictures were shown. All the workers were polite and considerate and willing to talk about how they were going to do the project. Rudy even had helpful suggestions on how to do a future project. I am already planning to use Handyman Hotline Tahoe for 2 other projects.

We have had James and crew do several projects
for us. He is always responsive and provides quality work within budget. He was able to get permits through the city where another contractor failed. Our last project was a small deck modification, Done in 2 days and looks great. If James can't do it he knows someone who can. Best thing about James, he builds things like he is going to live there. Can't give him a higher rating than that.

James and team have helped me over the years with my vacation homes. He is always responsive and has been very flexible in odd time and urgent requests. He also gives real advice on what is needed versus what is required. He also had fair rates. His team is knowledgeable and very fair. If you need a handyman in tahoe I would recoomend these folks.

Responsive, professional and quality work are the summary for Handyman Hotline.
We've done several projects with Handyman Hotline (HH) including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and each time the results have met/ exceeded expectations. James Fain and his team at HH are fully licensed, easy to work with and communicate in a timely manner.
One of the major projects was replacement of rotting front stairs & back deck that required coordination with an engineer and SLT building dept. Each day we received a status report and photos of work performed. The end result turned out even nicer than the photos, and passed inspection with no issue. It is the attention to detail, as well as cleaning-up after work is complete, that differentiate HH from other contractors.
Almost forgot to mention HH provides snow removal service. Their rates are very competitive and do a better job than two prior SLT outfits with whom we previously worked.
If you are considering any sort of home improvements, I highly recommend James & Handyman Hotline as the place to start.
