After experiencing numerous handyman disappointments, Ginny Fraser felt compelled to establish a dependable handyman service that strives to be a leader in the field. This motivation led Ginny to create Handyhandsomehusbands.com. “They were frequently late, disorganized, or unable to communicate effectively,” she expressed.
Fluent in both Spanish and English, Ginny also communicates in Farsi, French, Portuguese, Hebrew, and some Russian. Having spent more than 40 years in marketing and administrative roles, she has been a resident homeowner since 1982. She holds a strong belief in the collective good that Americans practice, no matter their origins or who leads. “I want every customer to feel they have received exceptional value and top-notch service. It pains me when we receive anything less than a 5-star review!” If you see this, feel free to call and request me!

Recommended Customer Reviews

I called Handy Handsome Husbands to help install a new vinyl plank floor among several other smaller jobs in my rental house. The flooring job was terrific and turned out better than expected. Also had them install a new bathroom light / vent, front porch light, a new dryer electrical outlet and address several other smaller issues around the house.
Everything was taken care of and the owner was very pleasant to deal with as well. I will be using them again.

I feel I have to say something, since they are getting such good reviews.
What a major nightmare with installing shower doors. I can't even begin to tell you. In the past we have paid $250 to install the same shower doors. This job was easier, since it was all new construction, with no pulling out old doors and prepping. Their first 'handy' guy left the job torn up and said he would be back later. Long story short, they finally finished the job a couple weeks later ... and wanted over $1100.
Handy Handsome Husbands? never ever again.

Of course, it always happens. Our kitchen sink breaks down over the Fourth of July weekend! No plumbers respond to my calls. Except these guys. These guys were amazing! They came out within hours, went to Home Depot to buy a new faucet for us, and had us back to normal within hours. All courteous, professional and modest pricing. Highly recommended!

These people are quick, competent, and reasonably priced. They kept me informed throughout the (5 days) pod the project, including texts to let me know who would be arriving and when, also photos of progress. We have several rentals and Handy Handsome Husbands will become my 1st call when a tenant calls with something I cannot handle on my own.

I first contacted HHH back in March with a laundry list of items that needed to get done around the house. The list included some bigger things like repairing our fence and a rotted balcony door as well as smaller things like installing weatherstripping, a new smart thermostat, a new electrical outlet, and replacing a faulty garage light.
Pros:
-The concept is fantastic. It's nice to be able to go to one place for such a wide variety of needs.
-Everyone I encountered was very courteous and generally quite likable. It was a pleasure working with them when they were around.
-The work that did get done was quality work. We ended up having our fence completely replaced and often get compliments on it (see the pictures posted by the company).
-Some of the work done was really creative, and I appreciated that they often proposed options. For example, when we discovered our HVAC system was installed around the water heater, they cut into the wall in the garage and Jose built us a custom access door that was pretty darn impressive.
Cons:
-Scheduling was a nightmare. You have to be proactive with them and continue to reach back out to them to get back on the books if the work is not finished in the timeframe originally estimated. Even then, on multiple occasions, my appointments were rescheduled last minute or no one showed up. For example, our ""three-day"" fence project was finally completed when someone came out to cut down the fence posts down so they were even. It also wasn't clear to me that staining/sealing my fence wasn't included in the original estimate I was given until after we were almost done.
-It also took three months (and a complaint from our HOA) for them to completely clean up after the fence project. When it was all said and done, I was told I would be reimbursed $140 for leftover lumber that I was told could be returned (it couldn't). It's been almost a month, and I still haven't received a check or any kind of reimbursement for that.
-Invoicing and contracts weren't always clear or accurate. At times I was asked to pay upfront. Other times I was asked to pay as I went. It created a mess. For example, I received a very generic plumbing invoice. When I asked for a detailed invoice, I discovered an overcharge of roughly $450 for a new water pressure valve. I never did get a refund and ultimately gave up trying to due to disorganization and lack of communication.
-I had a brand new water heater installed on a Friday back in March that ended up with a leaky control panel. I asked repeatedly if the gas smell was normal, and they said yes. When we were still smelling gas on Saturday, I called PG&E and they confirmed there was indeed a leak. Our gas was shut off for the weekend. HHH came back on Sunday to replace the faulty control panel. I had to pay over $200 upfront for the new part. I was promised a reimbursement because the part was under warranty. The paperwork, which had to be completed by a contractor, was never submitted, and I am still trying to get reimbursed.
-Some things on our list were never even addressed or finished, but I willingly let those things go after this started turning into a nightmare.
Many of the people I worked with over the last 3+ months are no longer with the company, including a few people that I really appreciated and found to be very helpful. I know they were also trying to install new software to get things to run more smoothly, which I can appreciate would lead to one or two hiccups but not the number of issues we experienced.
Bottom Line: I really wanted to like this company after we got off to such a strong start, but I will not be using them again due to the level of disorganization and lack of follow-through that I experienced, especially for the big projects. It was just too much of a headache for me to have to stay on top of the scheduling and invoicing to that degree.

I needed a room air conditioner installed that involved a bit of carpentry. HHH responded immediately to my phone call and set up a assessment appointment for two days out. As it happened, the assessment was handled on the phone. I was told that the job would require two men, for 2 hours, @ $100/hr per man. I thought that to be a little pricey but decided to stay with it because HHH is local, and they sounded like they knew what they were doing. This could be a test case for future work with them. They immediately booked me for installation for the next day. Ruben and Andy showed up right on time, jumped into action, and had the work completed in not two hours, but 30 minutes! They were efficient, and obviously experienced. HHH charged me just $100, very fair and reasonable. Highly recommended!!!

I had Handy Handsome Husbands (HHH) replace the steps leading up to the deck and some dry-rotted redwood trim on the corners of the house. They were fast, efficient, and did exceptional work. I'll definitely call on HHH for other repairs/replacements this much-loved Larkspur house, built in the 70's, will undoubtedly need down the road.

Shortly after posting my earlier review, the owner of the company reached out to me. (Which was a bit surprising, as I'd clearly stated my intent to leave such a review.) We chatted for a bit though and they agreed that the billing was a bit unreasonable for the level of experience and how long the job should have taken. As such, they issued a refund for the difference and now the bill is much more reasonable. I'm still not a fan, and probably won't use the company again, but at least the story ended well. (They did ask me to remove the review, but Yelp discourages review removal based on refunds, so changing this to 4-star instead.)

A couple of days ago, I posted a detailed, factual review of a poor experience with this company (everything from them not showing up on the scheduled day, to the work being done incorrectly, to billing issues). Since then, I have received multiple messages from the company requesting me to remove my review because it is negatively impacting their business. They have acknowledged and agreed that they messed up with us, which I appreciate, and they have assured me that our experience was not typical, that there were extenuating circumstances at our time of service, and that they will be making appropriate changes to avoid these issues in the future. I certainly hope that this is the case and give them the benefit of the doubt in that regard. Their many, many 5-Star reviews certainly speak to that point and I truly wish them success in the future. However, I am simply editing my review rather than removing it, and I hope that they can understand that Yelp is a platform meant to share a range of experiences - not just the positive ones.

We've had a handful of projects around the house that we just couldn't seem to get done, despite our best intentions. A neighbor recommended HHH and so we decided to give them a try. And are we ever glad we did!
Jose and Reuben spent and entire day taking care of a handful of projects - replacing a large hanging light fixture, installing a new mailbox and post, painting, etc. They were both super professional, super communicative, super efficient and, well, just plain super cool! They managed to do more in a day than we could get done in months, and were a pleasure to speak and work with. Really good peeps. We'll be calling on them again soon.
