Was very pleased with the service from Hancock Plumbing. I called and left a message on a Saturday afternoon, got a text back within 10 minutes. A few text later had a schedule to have some work done on Monday. On Monday was kept informed as to when they would arrive. Chris called and arrived a few minutes later. Went straight to work and made the repair digging out a broken hydrant in my yard. Replace the broken parts and did a great job cleaning up afterwards.
The charge for the work and parts was quite reasonable.
I hope I don't need them again but if I need a plumber in Stillwater this is my first call and should be yours also.

I called to get a hose bib repaired from the inside and replace the garbage disposal. I've never been so impressed with a plumbing company. The plumber explained the scope of work for the hose bib and there was no hard sales to do anything else. He replaced the disposal in record time. I highly recommend Hancock Plumbing

They're fast, efficient, and they do great work. I couldn't be more happy with how well my faucets look and work better than my old ones! Nice guys that definitely know their business.

I had purchased a replacement garbage disposal to replace my leaking disposal and I didn't feel that I could install it myself, so I scheduled with Hancock for the install. Chris called prior to the scheduled appointment time to let me know he was on the way, which is something I really appreciate. He wore his mask, which I also appreciate since I'm in the 'high risk' group. He was courteous and efficient. He had the disposal installed in a very short time, cleaned up the work space and disposed of the defective unit for me. Service was top-notch and I would definitely call them again for other plumbing issues.

I and some partners own over 30 rental properties in Stillwater and have for 20 years. We have used Hancock Plumbing exclusively for over a decade now and have always found them reliable and reasonably priced.

We contacted Hancock Plumbing (Stillwater, OK location) about installing 3 hot water heaters at our residence in November, 2019. We were quoted (verbally, no written estimate) a flat fee of $300 per tank. We asked for a written explanation of what constituted the $300 fee, and Shawn said he would provide that to us. We scheduled the installation of the tanks, one the day before Thanksgiving and the other two the following Tuesday. We were never provided the written explanation we asked for. He says he emailed it, but the email was returned. However, he never contacted us about that, nor attempted to get a correct email; he never called us, he never mailed us the information, and when the technician showed up for the first appointment, he did not have the written information. We were never given a contract to sign. Normally, contracts would include the business's payment policies, or the business informs the customer up front (before work is done) what their payment policies are. No contract was provided and no contract was signed. No information about his payment policies was provided to us. So we were not given a chance to accept or reject his payment policies. Also, had we been provided with the information that the $300 flat fee is for labor (see below), and known that two of the tanks would only take a little more than an hour each to install, we would not have engaged his services at an hourly rate of $300.
Since we had an out-of-town guest coming for Thanksgiving weekend, we proceeded with the installation of the first tank. After the three tanks were installed we received an invoice that listed ""HWT flat fee, qty. 3, amount $900"". No detailed information was provided as to what specific work was done, nor the amount of time spent on installing each tank. The oldest tank that was replaced took about 2 to 2.5 hours. The other two tanks took a little more than an hour each. This means that he charged a different hourly rate ($120 for the 2.5 hour job and $240 for each of the 1.25 hour jobs) for the labor. When we received the invoice, we again asked for detailed information as to how the $300 flat fee is determined and what makes up that fee. The invoice was dated 12/12/2019. He did not provide his answer (flat fee is for labor) until 14 days after the date of his invoice. At the bottom of the invoice he states that payment is due within 15 days or a 5 percent finance charge will be applied. No specific due date is stated on the invoice, nor any details as to when the 15 day period starts - such as of the date of the invoice or the date the customer receives the invoice, or 15 business days (this time period included Christmas day). The 5 percent finance charge is not described as a monthly rate or an annual rate.
We mailed a partial payment to him on Jan. 2, which he returned to us stating he does not accept partial payments. We were not aware of this as no information was provided before engaging his services about his payment policies. He mailed a second invoice on Jan. 10, which included late fees of $84.43 on the original invoice amount of $1088.63 for a period from 12/12/2019 to 1/10/2020 or 29 days. We converted the $84.43 to a monthly amount (31 days), which made the monthly amount $90.25. That amount divided by $1088.63 gives a late fee percentage of 8.0% - not the 5% he states on his invoice. At 8.0% the annual rate would be 96%! Even the 5% as a monthly finance rate is equivalent to an annual rate of 60%. We feel his business practices are unethical (no disclosure) and outrageous! We would recommend if you are considering Hancock Plumbing's services that you ask for a written estimate that details what work is to be done and how much time will be involved and what the hourly rate is. Also, ask whether his technician is licensed as an apprentice (requires supervision at the job site per the Oklahoma Construction Industry Board, which licenses plumbers), a journeyman, or a contractor. Also, ask for a written statement disclosing his payment practices with specific details.
The actual work done by the technician was acceptable, but Shawn Hancock's business practices - in our opinion - are designed to gouge his customers.
