In 1979, Ed and Barbara Hammond established Hammond Services in Griffin, GA. Ed, who retired from the Air Force, began the company after earning his degree in HVAC and Electrical from Griffin Technical College. Initially, it was a small operation with just two staff members—Ed and Barbara. Their exceptional service soon garnered attention, resulting in a growing team. Jeff Snow, an HVAC technician, was the first hire. Jeff remains a valued member of Hammond Services. In 1989, Wayne Hughes came on board, and plumbing services were added to the existing HVAC and Electrical offerings. David Hammond, son of Ed and Barbara, joined Hammond Services in 1994. After obtaining his engineering degree in 1982, David worked for a significant corporation for 12 years before coming back to the family business. David became the President of the company in 1998 when Ed and Barbara retired.
David Hammond earned his engineering degree in 1982 and began his career at a major corporation. At the same time, his father retired from the Air Force, started Hammond Services, and the company grew consistently. David joined the family business in 1994, and his father stepped back from Hammond Services in 1998.
David relishes the challenges that come with being a small business owner. He values the need for constant improvement and making things better. His focus is not on expansion but on enhancement. He knows that as he focuses on improvement, growth will naturally occur. He also believes in being active and engaged in both his profession and the local community. Most significantly, he is a Christian and leads his business with Christian values.

Crooked, criminal, dishonest, and untrustworthy is how I would describe this business. Called to check my upstairs unit out and the technician(more like salesman) diagnosed a bad compressor on my unit. He tells me it's a better option to just buy a new unit. I go with the repair and spent $3000. Same exact issue the very next year so I decided to call a different company to repair. He spends all of 5 minutes and finds a rusted coil and fixes the issue for $350. Update: 2 years later and I've had no issues after dealing with a new company.

Astoundingly expensive. Had them out to look at a intermittent problem on one furnace and do a yearly service. The following ensued: 1. Wanted more than the agreed on price for the service. The online rep said it would be $49 for each furnace. The tech said that probably was only for the first one... 2. Wanted to replace a capacitor for $105. It was not needed and if needed the part would cost $2.50. When I asked about it he just smiled and confirmed it. 3. Wanted to replace control board on one furnace cost $600. Two minute repair if needed at $200 for parts. $400 markup? 4. Wanted to replace draft blower at $600. Another quick repair with parts cost of $82. $500 markup? Your mileage may vary but for now I will do my own simple repairs. Also tried to sell me three time a year cleaning and inspections with a 10%! discount on repairs. I don't think so. Highly recommended to check for alternative solutions and get bids on any service before it is performed.

overpriced. i got services for exhaust fan installed. i provided my own fan. it just needed to install in the bathrooom as my old fan was installed. they charged $366 for the simple installation. never ever going to call them. refer to anyone. i will make sure all the people i know are aware of the robbers in town.

Had Brandon, one of Scott's employee's show up and he was respectful, courteous, honest, and very helpful. Explained everything to me and even took the time to show me how to clean it. I thought this was going to be a bad day as I was not sure what happened as it quit working, my wife and I looked up on a local neighborhood site and got a great recommendation for them---called and could not be happier--- Thank you all! aii i can say about hammond services if you want to get ripped of hammond is the company to call. never buy a service plan from them that is really a ripp off!! suppose to save on service charge.they will find something wrong to make that money back!!!ihad a leaking shower wanted to charge 399.00 to put cartridge in the shower.don't deserve 1 star

Absolutely terrifying morning. I passed this guy below back on 16 West, didn't think much about it as he was going 45 in a 55 and I figured he was looking for a house. Passes him without problem. At the intersection I saw him fly up on my car, taking pictures of my car, screaming out the window, and trying to get out of his vehicle. I I locked my doors, held my pepper spray and watched him through my rear view. I was terrified. He then proceed to follow me into Peachtree City. I decided that was enough and slowed to take a picture of his car--which he kept trying to avoid by swerving dangerously around other vehicles. (Because he knew that taking out your frustration with morning traffic by threatening someone is wrong) I finally got his license plate as well and called the sherif and got to a safe place. I've called Hammond Services, Inc. and they were very sweet and understanding. They apologized for his behavior and said they would handle it immediately. Very sweet company and they didn't tolerate his behavior. So moral of the story is stay safe ladies while you are driving, and just because someone acts ugly in a company truck doesn't mean that company is bad at all. I don't know why this man decided he was mad at me, I don't know if his dog died that morning, or if he thought I was an ex wife, or if perhaps I just wasn't going fast enough for him. I could even understand it if I had done something rude or started the altercation by cutting him off or flipping him off or something. However, I was just a small woman in a car trying to get to work and I had no idea why he decided to go road warrior on me.

Well expensive for a simple in line valve replacement. (550 bucks). I resolved to doing it myself. Trip to Home Depot, 10 min and 40 bucks later all is well.

I had a very good experience. I just called them again for an A/C ducting issue and they gave me a very fair quote. And why did I call them back even though they were about 10% higher than other companies for a complete install on another house??? They did it right the first time.

do you not use the service they try to sell you over priced parts for plumbing for air conditioning for electrical you name it anything they cover. Do you pay them $72 a month for nothing they do nothing they come and look, and then try to sell you a $600 Faucet or an $800 trap for underneath the sink!!! if you try to cancel services with them before 12 months they charge you $50 for a cancellation fee. They are all about money and not customer service. They are a disgusting money grubbing company. Put your money to good use and support the little man not the big contracting companies. They don't care about quality over quantity. I had one of their plumbers. Tell me while you can buy the part and fix it yourself.

For the most part, I love the service I've gotten from Hammond. So I was completely taken aback from the service I received today. I bought the maintenance plan and scheduled an appointment for a fall check up. The original technician had a family emergency and the dispatch called me to let me know. She asked if I wanted to reschedule or take a different technician. I agreed to a different technician, so no harm no foul. I left my job early to ensure that I would be home in time to meet the tech. At the appointed time, no tech, no phone call. I called Hammond and spoke with a young lady, Naomi, who listened to my query and informed me that she would have the tech call me. Again, no harm, no foul. 40 minutes later I was still waiting for a call, a text, smoke signals, anything. Call the company again, and spoke with another young lady, whose name I cannot remember, but she listened to me whine and complain, and told me that the window for my appointment was 3:30 to 5:20. I work in construction so I am fully aware that sometimes things happen. I would have been a happy customer if I had just received a courtesy call to let me know the tech was running late. I tell the young lady to cancel my appointment, and again inform her of my disappointment with the service. So appointment is cancelled, and I go to the store when my phone rings. Its Hammond Services. A very rude lady starts the conversation with """"Your appointment wasn't till 4:20 so we aren't late!"""" I proceed to tell her that the appointment was for 4:00, and explain rather quickly the events up to this point. Her level of rudeness increases to the point where I tell her that I am done talking to her and will contact a manager later. Now, I am willing to accept the fact that the appointments are not set in stone, and I am willing to accept the fact that the young ladies have no control over when the technicians call, but what I cannot and will not accept is when someone calls me and basically comes at me when they have no idea of the situation. Whomever this """"supervisor type"""" person was, she does not need to hold that position. She was the straw that broke the camels back on this one. Now I think I may try to cancel the rest of my maintenance contract and find another company. UPDATE: A very nice woman named Ashley contacted me about this issue. She was truly a professional and extremely kind in her words. This company is true to its philosophies and values. While I had considered leaving, the way they handled this issues has made me a life long customer
