If anyone is needing a HVAC I can tell you who not to go through, Bob Hamilton Plumbing Heating A/C Rooter.

I called last night to schedule a appointment. My normal company couldn't see us until Tuesday. I was put on the schedule for today between 8-12.

When 12pm came and went I called to check in and was told that a tech would be out soon that we were 3rd in line.

After I got off work at 4 and noticed no one showed up I called and was told that Amy would be out shortly.

Ten minutes later I was called and informed that no one was coming until Monday.

I asked if the call was being recorded and was informed it was . I repeated back the timeline of today.

Next time I'll go with the other company that I've always used.

Update from 11/7/2022 review. When I used the outdoor faucet for the first time after this winter, it malfunctioned (I did not leave a hose attached, etc., just a bad part). I called them and they came out the next day and repaired it at no charge. Jonathon did a great job.

I would give zero stars if I could. Technician was supposed to call me yesterday afternoon to let me know when coming 30 min. in advance Never called. At end of day, called Bob Hamilton and lady claimed technician had called me and even left a voicemail when not reaching me. A complete LIE, I have a cell phone and it registers every missed call or voicemail: there was none. I reiterated my cell to make sure she had correct number and rescheduled for next day. I called in AM and again gave my cell again to verify they had right number. Waited by phone ALL DAY (window was noon to 4), even took cell into bathroom with me, no call. At end of day called Bob Hamilton main office and they fed me the same story, oh technician or dispatcher called you and didn't reach you. LIE!!! Dispatcher kept claiming they called when I told them flatly they didn't and my phone could prove it. Worse customer service ever. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and insult to my intelligence to lie like that when my cell phone can verify.

No need to run anyone down but they simply don't do what they say they will do...then they don't try to fix it. Pretty simple. Don't get roped into their monthly plan.

We accepted an offer on our house in March, 2015 in south KC, and the prospective buyers then hired Bob Hamilton to perform a drain inspection on the property. Hamilton claimed the main drain was inundated with roots and needed a $7,500 replacement. We had a contract in place for drain and water main insurance through the Kansas City Water department. We filed a claim on the insurance, and the insurance adjuster they sent out advised us the findings Bob Jones submitted to the realtor were fraudulent. It didn't prevent us from reaching a sales agreement or closing on the house, but the whole experience left me wondering how Bob Hamilton remained in business. Some 8 years later, I see not a thing has changed based on other Yelp reviews. Seems like Bob Hamilton and most of his employees ought to be doing time in a penitentiary for preying on the elderly, along with all of the other fraudulent activity reported here. How is it these guys are still in business????

DO NOT CALL BOB HAMILTON, they are scammers!

Furnace wasn't kicking on, Bob Hamilton came out and said I needed the inducer motor replaced for a price of $1643.40. I didn't have that so I was going to go another route to fix myself. That night as I laid in bed, I knew it was NOT the draft inducer motor because it had never made any noise that it was going bad. I went with my gut and called another company to diagnose the issue.

The inducer motor was fine, the new HVAC company said the inducer motor looked brand new and that the issue was a loose wire into my gas valve, they charged me nothing but the diagnostic fee to fix this and weeks later I have had NO problems.

This is not the first time Bob Hamilton has told me I need repairs that cost thousands of dollars, the last time was in April of 2022 when I had a leak from my tub to my kitchen. They charged me $527.40 to diagnose the problem and then stated that I needed to replace a less than 1 year old pipe and wanted me to pay an additional $1,600-$1,700. I was not going for this price.

The pipe was fine and this issue was actually on the base of the tub and my brother and I fixed it for less than $20.

I feel that Bob Hamilton is either trying to intentionally scam people that are in a rough spot or are incompetent.

I will never call Bob Hamilton again and I make sure to tell everyone I know to not use them because of the outrageous diagnostics they supply.

In November, we went through Lowe's to have automatic dampers added to our HVAC system to create 2 zones in our house. After meeting with Austin Robinson (salesperson) I went online to put down the required 50% & BH scheduled my installation of 3 dampers, a control board, & a Wi-Fi thermostat for 3 days later. On the day of installation, the call came in that a mistake had been made & there was no possible way to install anything because the measurements of my duct system hadn't been made nor had any parts been ordered. That day, BH had a guy at my house to take the measurements & put the order in, with an assumption that it would be about 2 weeks before they'd arrive. TWO MONTHS WENT BY. I involved Lowe's & during week 5, BH told them the parts were in & I was scheduled for the following week, only to have Robinson text that the CSR at BH didn't know what they were talking about, to stop talking to them & no parts were in. Finally, on the day of the installation, we were told that the thermostat that was ordered had been discontinued & a replacement would be 6 months out so, to rush the project, BH installed a Honeywell wall sensor (not a remote) & then tried to get me to sign off as the work being done. This was bait & switch. Things went further wrong when Dan Geller (GM for BH) called & tried to fence with me over how, if we waited 6 months, they wouldn't get paid until then. Lowe's had already told me to NOT sign anything until the right equipment was done. Geller went on to say that he had a feeling I was going to pull ""this stunt"" & that he had heard that I was the kind of guy that tried to wheel & deal through things. So now he just went with the insults & tried to strong-arm me into signing off on the work as if it were completed. I didn't think the GM's job was to bully people. Geller had a hard time being told that so he had his Carrier rep call me up. He confirmed that Robinson had ordered the discontinued device (probably didn't know it) & rather than reorder the correct one, they just wanted to finish the job as-is. This rep said the correct remote was NOT on a 6-month backorder (Again, Geller with more bad info) & that it would be in around the end of Feb or March. Two days later, Geller calls to say that they located the device & wanted to install it that day (1/21/23). Once installed, I signed the completed paperwork & made the final payment. It was only after the install tech left that we realized that when the guys were here a few days ago to install the majority of the equipment, they did not leave any of the literature, product guides, or anything with the model or serial numbers so we could register the system. After all, now that BH got payment, I suppose he feels there no need to respond to any follow-up requests? BH's communications between internal departments & customers is just horrible. They make the sale but don't let you know really how long it will be before you see the installation take place. Second, Geller needs some classes on (anger) management because his people skills are just ridiculous. The sales team, CSRs & management that need some work. Since they are doing this work for Lowe's, things will not end with just this review. If I could get them to reconsider their contract work with BH, I'd push for that. For anyone reading this review, know that someone at BH will be able to respond to it. If they say anything that contradicts what I have written, just assume they're lying because clearly this review doesn't paint a good picture of them. I blame Geller for this. His attempts to extort money out of me through insults & implied threats (yeah, he did say they'd have to find another way to get payment out of me) makes me wonder how he got to be a GM with such poor people skills. Lowe's is now involved with this, as they should be, because maybe BH thinks they're too big of a company to have Lowe's dump them. BH was bought by American Residential Services so there's another phone call to make.

Bob Hamilton Plumbing came 11/16/2022 to inspect a shower head with low pressure. (all other faucets fine) The technician didn't even take the shower head off, but only ran water. Stated I had an issue in the line. He could try to fix it ~$700, or a complete overhaul would be ~$2700. I chose to call in a second opinion and was charged $89. The second plumber removed the shower head and found that to be the problem. I have called Bob Hamilton's several times requesting a refund since they misdiagnosed the issue. The manager I need to speak to is always ""away from the office and they will have him (Rick) call me back."" I have yet to receive any return calls.

Bob Hamilton sold us a $14K heat pump/ac in July. It broke down in September (fixed after about a week) with a service charge.....
Broke down again Dec 23, (fixed on Dec 24) with a ""holiday rate"" service charge.
Broke down AGAIN Dec 29.....you get the gist.
Obviously we were sold a dysfunctional unit. Bob Hamilton will NOT stand behind it. They simply said ""we don't make the units"".
Seriously, buyer beware!!!! Don't call Bob.
