I had been assigned them through American Home Shield Warranty due to a leak in my basement that left my ceiling coming down where the leak is. I tried calling them for 3 days and could never get to speak with anyone, kept getting voicemail. I left several messages and no response. I call ASH to request a new plumber be assigned and they kept trying to get in touch with Hall & Sons to no avail. I am on day 5 and finally got another plumber assigned. Not responding to people is very poor service. I understand the holidays are hard to schedule, but a phone call would have been the least they do. Will never trust them as unreliable and unreachable as they are.
Do NOT use this company! We purchased a toilet at Lowe's and were going to have them install it. The earliest appointment was two weeks out which was inconvenient, but I can't control their schedule.
The guys showed up and indicated that they weren't aware that there was a bidet seat on the toilet so they needed to call corporate.
""Corporate"" cancelled the whole job and the guys left. I offered to remove the bidet myself and they wouldn't let me. They said they can't install a toilet without a seat and I told them I had one in the garage. They still just left.
AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! AVOID!
They were assigned to install a dishwasher for us through Lowes and gave us a window of 2-6pm on 3/10/20. My wife took off work during that time to be available. At 430 she received a call that they could not make it due to an emergency with another client. She was given the choice of rescheduling for the very next morning or wait another 3 weeks for the next available appointment. My wife was unable to take off a second straight day and neither was I on such short notice, so my Father agreed to be there for the job to be done and to save us from waiting 3 weeks.
They gave us a window of 830-1230. At 11pm they had not shown or called to let us know their status. I tried calling them several times. Left a message and never got a call back. I eventually called the emergency number which connected me directly to the man doing our installation. He was rude and dismissive and said he would arrive around 12ish.
When they arrived at 12:15 they immediately went to the existing dishwasher and told my Father they couldn't do the job because they didn't have the bracket necessary for a stone countertop. My father pointed out that the purchase order they were holding said ""stone countertop"" and that a bracket was needed. They claimed I should have bought the bracket when I bought the dishwasher. My Father offered to drive over to Lowes (5 mins away)and get the bracket. That was no good for them. They claimed the Lowes Bracket was junk anyhow and I should order one off of Amazon. My Father proposed several other solutions all of which they had a flimsy excuse for. When my father became irritated they decided to roll out and report to Lowe's that he had hit them with a dishwasher door and cussed them out (total fabrication). I am now banned from having another installer take on the job as Lowe's has flagged our residence as a hostile work environment.
Bottom line: these guys never had any intention of doing this job. They canceled originally, offered only one make up day in 3 weeks then came late and without the proper parts to do the job. Then decided to fabricate a story so they didn't have to return.
You would think Hall and Sons would want to know the customer's side of the story on a job that was never completed. They refuse to return my calls. Class act company.
Mary H.Just a quick update to my earlier review. Nearly a year after my initial great experience with Hall & Son's Plumbing, I needed some minor plumbing done and called them again. Same professional service at a fair price. Thanks for consistently great service!
Mark J.These guys are quick and knowledgeable as well as friendly. Based on their hourly rate they are on par with others but a little on the high side. They installed my gas water heater quickly and all went well. They had good suggestions for future projects, will answer all questions and were efficient for what they did (cleaned up afterwards, etc.). I suggest calling them personally if your project is not an emergency, because if you go thru the Lowes installation service system (which they participate in) it will cost way above an average plumber fee. They will come all the way to Harrisburg for your job. Not sure if they charge a travel fee though. For your own comparison, they quoted me the installation of a pressure reducing valve (including two new shut off valves, a gauge and the adjustable reducing valve) on my incoming city water line at $425. Surely this wont take them more than 2 hours to complete (with travel time), so that does sound high. I checked on ""homewyse.com"" which will give pretty accurate prices of what something should cost in the 17113 area and the price should be from $300-$350 max with less than $45 in parts costs.
