In brief, I dealt with a water leak in our kitchen that became a serious problem. I reached out to Anchorage Plumbing and they dispatched a grumpy worker who appeared disinterested to perform much of the job that H & M Plumbing & Heating managed.

I discovered that the line for the water to my fridge was sourced from another place besides the sink area along with the kitchen faucet and dish cleaning machine. Anchorage's fix was to set up a stop valve where the problem and ask me to contact them again after the restoration service completed their work and possibly excavate the subfloor.

Feeling unsatisfied with their level of service, I opted to H & M Plumbing & Heating. The technician got back to me in a timely manner and in the afternoon, he came with another technician who resolved the work in a short time, redirecting the water line through the sink. They also set up another valve for our main supply line in the utility space.

What stood out was their interactions with myself and one another were remarkably nice amid a difficult situation. I liked sharing some laughs with them while they were busy.

The one concern I had with them is that I contacted them again to obtain a documented summary on their findings for my insurance and I never received a response. Yet, apart from that, I was very satisfied with their efforts as I could imagine.

Don't spend your time and money with any other plumbing company. Contact them first and you will likely find yourself as happy as I am.

I engaged H & M Plumbing & Heating to shift a heating pipe for my bathroom renovation. A plumber showed up the same day, and I was happy. He was accompanied by a junior plumber, leading to double the man hours. They got right to work without much discussion on pricing/scope of work.

After observing the plumber forcefully handling my heating pipes during the task...After two hours and several trips to their unmarked truck, they completed the work.

I was informed that the total for this job would be $1,062. This price for a two-hour job caught me off guard. I settled the bill, glad that my bathroom project could proceed.

THE NEXT MORNING, I enter our secondary bathroom which is just below the pipe H & M had worked on the day before. I discovered water damage on the wall and ceiling, with a two-square-foot bubble filled with water about to burst! Apparently, the pipe they worked on had a slow drip all night long...I promptly contacted them to report the problem.

THE CHALLENGE
The technician returned and addressed the leak at no cost, naturally. Despite several discussions, H & M Plumbing & Heating refused to acknowledge any fault for the water damage caused by their work. After shelling out a hefty sum for the job the day before, I found myself with new complications...Completely poor business practice to offer no help on damage clearly caused by their work.

We may have disagreed on who was at fault with the water damage, the least they could do is be human and work with a paying customer on a compromise. Offering to split the cost for the water damage would have been a good start. I am skeptical that Bill will respond to my call now...

My overall experience left me feeling overcharged, trapped by a hefty bill, and burdened with more issues than I initially had.

I experienced a remarkable service from this plumbing company. They were outstanding! The team worked tirelessly to schedule my appointment when I reached out.

The service was efficient and helped us save money. They showed themselves to be very informative and collaborated with my family to ensure the problem was fixed correctly.

The team was friendly. In the past, I've had two different plumbing companies come to our house and they fall short at all.

Scene: Anchorage, in a condo building, a few days ago. Tessa realizes that the garage feels colder than usual. The hallways are a bit chillier. Even with the heat turned up, things seem colder; the heat never goes above 68 degrees. Tessa believes her husband with a lot of hair is turning down the thermostat when she isn't looking.}

Today, a Sunday, at 1:30 PM. The weather outside are below zero. Tessa, plagued by Raynaud phenomenon, starts to notice numbness in her hands and nose. Her husband expresses concern about the cold, even though she turned up the heat. The thermostat has difficulty to reach 65, then falls to 64 and stays there. The cats huddle under the bed blankets to stay warm.

Dramatic music interlude.

Tessa calls the condo association emergency line, and they advise her that they aren't sure how busy the heating/plumbing company may be. But, within an hour, a friendly employee from H & M Plumbing & Heating contacts to confirm the location. At 5:15 PM, there's on the door. The previously mentioned employee, now known as the Almighty Heating God, is present with positive updates that the heat is on the way. He details what had happened (both boilers broke down, for two separate reasons) but is resolved. A glance at the thermostat displays 66. Success! The temperature is rising! The Great God takes his leave, and Tessa's feet find their place under the baseboard, feeling the wonderful heat.

Joyful music interlude, and a glass of merlot is enjoyed. The cats rejoice and can stop acting to be friendly with the humans for warmth; they can be snarky, solitary jerkwads on their own.

The technician was highly skilled, addressed all My concerns and exhibited competence in his work. Thanks Mike! I will call them again.

I strongly suggest their services. From the many top-rated companies I reached out to, H & M Plumbing proved to be that returned my call. In the Anchorage area, H & M Plumbing is exceptional.

I H & M Plumbing & Heating is mixed. I called H & M on a Sunday evening to arrange an appointment for Monday morning. However, Bill ended up having to reschedule for the afternoon and was late as well. I understand that he operates a small business with only two people, which means he lacks the staff to manage all situation.

Once Bill eventually arrive, he showed himself to be courteous, friendly. With over 40 years of experience in the industry, Bill was familiar with the issue. We had already of the problem: a leak in a baseboard heater pipe connection. This was not a complicated diagnosis or fix. Bill got straight to work, exhibiting his expertise and made the repair quickly.

The cost came to under $267, and that felt reasonable in my opinion. I would call H & M Plumbing & Heating once more for plumbing issues. In the future, I will ask them to call us as soon as they are.
