Company Overview

Rooted in the commitment to offer superior services with integrity, Moe Plumbing Services is recognized for its excellence. Now, almost nine decades later, our team of about 180 highly trained professionals is set to continue delivering the finest plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and construction services to homeowners and businesses. We are committed to our customers; with three staff members available for night and weekend calls, we ensure your emergencies are addressed promptly. Each of our technicians completes a thorough 5-year apprenticeship, so you can trust that the person entering your home is equipped to deliver the correct fix.

Founded in 1927, Moe Plumbing was built on four key principles: 1) to be recognized for integrity; 2) to provide the best products available; 3) to ensure timeliness; and 4) to treat all individuals with dignity and fairness. The company earned its reputation as a dependable plumbing contractor, constructing new homes and servicing existing properties.

Starting as a small family-run operation, we have grown into one of the most respected plumbing, heating, and air conditioning firms in Southern California. In 2000, we significantly expanded our service capabilities by acquiring John K. Keefe Plumbing, a staple on Los Angeles' Westside since 1940, and Burt Plumbing, a Hollywood institution since 1920.

Today, no job is too large or too small for Moe Plumbing. We have the expertise and tools to deliver high-quality plumbing, heating, and air conditioning solutions. The president and owner of Moe Plumbing is Mike Davis. Under Mike's leadership, the business has transformed from a small family-owned entity into one of the premier plumbing contractors and service providers in Los Angeles. Mike is actively involved as a trustee for the National Association of Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association, Union Affiliated Contractors (NAPHCC UAC), and is a member of the California Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Association (CPMCA), Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) for UA Local #761, and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE). A graduate of Biola University, Mike actively participates in his community, including volunteering as a lay counselor.

NOTICE THAT MOST OF THE POSITIVE REVIEWS FOR MOE PLUMBING DON'T DESCRIBE THE WORK THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY DONE. CLEARLY THESE WERE POSTED BY FRIENDS OR EMPLOYEES OR IT WOULD ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT THE WORK RATHER THAN CALLING IT ""ISSUES"" AND SUCH.
HERE IS A REAL EXPERIENCE. I called Moe Plumbing to light a pilot on a furnace because my handyman was out of town. I was told they would give me a free estimate of anything else that was wrong. Sure enough they told me that the furnace needed a ""rebuild"" and that several parts were not functioning. I had just had the furnace rebuilt a few years before so knew they were not being honest. The technician said he took the liberty of changing a part, without my permission, but it still didn't work and so he installed a new thermostat, again without my permission and even though the thermostat was only a few months old. Still the furnace didn't work so he said I should replace it and he could get me a deal on a new one. I said that he should not have replaced parts without telling me first and that he should come back and get the thermostat and asked for the old part to be put back on the furnace. He never came back but when my handyman returned he looked at the supposedly ""new"" part and said it was at least five years old and had he could tell was the same part because it was corroded to the pipe so was clearly not a replacement. He lit the pilot and the furnace worked fine....that was all that was needed.
Shortly after I received a bill from Moe plumbing for a service call, which I disputed because he hadn't done any work and because they had told me that it was a free estimate so I shouldn't have been charged for his opinion, which was dishonest/wrong anyway. The technician had been there only about 1/2 an hour, according to my tenant, and they claimed he was there for 2 hours. This was explained to me as 'travel time"" because they were charging from the time the appointment was set even though he arrived one hour late and they were also charging for his travel time after the appointment to go to his next job. When I refused to pay the $250 charge they sold it to a collection agency, and it turned up on my credit report. I asked them to take it off but they refused saying I should take it up with the lawyer they sold it to....they had been paid by him. The woman in collections laughed when I told her it was affecting my credit and said that I should just pay it if I wanted to get it off my credit because I would be paying more for bad credit. She didn't even care that I didn't owe it. So its clear that part of their business is to sell accounts to collection agencies to extort payment on bills that you don't owe. Also, when I posted a bad review on Angie's List they responded by saying that they had never done work for me (which is true) even though my complaint was that they hadn't done the work they claimed and that they had unlawfully sold the billing to a collection agency.

No nonsense certification of our commercial backflip device. Thanks MOE for the prompt response and handling of the paperwork for the DWP. Good service like this from a professional company is appreciated. We will use them again.

I would avoid these people. They charged me over $300 to replace a ball flap on a toilet. The guy dithered around, walking v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y back and forth to his truck several times, saying vague things when questioned, and in the end, all he did was replace a degraded ball flap and then the toilet worked fine. I can only figure he was intentionally wasting time to jack up the bill because I'm a woman and I don't know anything about plumbing. Also, they are pretending to be Val Ramos Plumbing, which went out of business. When you call the number that used to be the phone number of Val Ramos, these people answer the phone. But eventually they admitted to me that they did not keep a single one of the employees of Val Ramos!

Greedy plumber. I needed one faucet replaced (which I supplied) and one leaky faucet repaired. No estimate (that won't happen again) and the work took 2 1/2 hours and was about $500! What? To be fair, I was told that the old faucet was tricky to take out and there was some cutting but $500 for that? And I supplied the faucet! Materials alone was $178 and some parts in the leaky faucet was repaired and not replaced.

The plumber was at his truck about 25 minutes out of the 2/1/2 hours plus the company had the nerve to charge me for their time to drive from Beverly Hills. I would avoid this company at all costs! BTW, they also own John Okeefe Plumbing in BH and recently bought out Val Ramos as well.

Terrible terrible terrible. I DO NOT Recommend. Usually I'm very open to ways of doing business. I had to pay $112.16 for Moe's Plumbing to come to my house, spend 10 minutes listening to my hot water heater and give me a $1500 estimate. My bf was outraged, I didn't know any better, but he did. We got it fixed for $200 elsewhere.

MOE's Plumbing Service is OVERPRICED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I had a floor furnance repaired by Jeff & Phil of Moe Plumbing. I am so happy to say it was a job well done. Fast, friendly, thorough and fair in price. From the moment I emailed for an appointment to the follow up call with the receptionist, I was treated with respect and sincerity.
Jeff not only remembered me from 4 years ago but he followed through with getting down to the problem . I am very happy, even though Moe Plumbing has gotten bigger over the years, they have not lost the personal touch.

Avoid this outfit at all costs. After calling someone out for a faulty furnace, he quoted me $260 (+labor, which they don't divulge in advance - see below) for a new circuit board - however he refused to warranty that it would solve the problem (he refused to give me a firm estimate for a repair). He also assured me that all furnaces come with only a 5 year warranty (a blatant lie), and recommended that I replace mine (just over 5 years old) with, surprise!, one from them. Following this exchange I was shocked to see a bill for a $110 service call from him (this includes the 'mandatory' $12 fuel fee, despite them being located 3 miles away). This is almost double what a typical (competent) HVAC call would cost.

After he left I called Moe's to complain. They assured me the service manager would call me back and that the check would not be cashed until he spoke to me. The check was subsequently cashed. I called them again and was once again assured the service manager would contact me to resolve it. As you may have guessed, that phone call has not arrived.

Highest prices, worst service, shady ethics - you've been warned.

This place is a joke. I had new bathroom above the garage to be plumbed (5 fixtures) - easy access. Moe quoted me $14,800 double the second highest bid.
I got the job done professionally for about $7000.
