I had a plugged drain in my tub. Two men arrived, one that did the work and the other that stood around, although both were very pleasant. They were in my house less than a half hour, having found that the plug was stuck in the drain. I was so grateful it was such an easy fix. They went out to the truck to ""prepare the bill."" This took at least 10 minutes. For less than a half hour's work I was charged in excess of $250. Nothing was itemized. No materials were used. No labor costs were listed. I just got a list of every step that was taken during the procedure with no cost listed next to it. Even $20 in taxes even though I did not have to buy any supplies. I was grateful to get the problem solved, but the cost was exorbitant in my book. I would not call this company again.
Do Not recommend very rude and unprofessional they charge a fee to do an estimate even if they don't feel like doing the work and we're rude from point A of taking the request for service to point B of leaving the house saying the job was not worth it to them
They told me on phone once drain opened they wanted 1800 more and even charged me 650 when the tennant said it was open already at 200 and they padded the bill 450 extra never hire they are ripoff artist
I called Hjacks to finish installing a new bathroom vanity . A man named Doug showed up within a hour. The vanity and faucet were already put together and the old one was removed so all he had to do was drill holes for the drain and water hoses in the base of the new vanity and reconnect the pipes. He was here for one hour and twenty minutes. He handed me a bill for $385.50!!! That's $257.00 an hour! We had all the supplies here and didn't need any additional parts. This is outrageous.
Calling in the morning, I feel like I had gotten fleeced! I'll never call them again , it seems dishonest to me.
We hired H. Jack's plumbing to remodel our bathroom that I now regret. I should have checked out their reviews first before going with them on a bathroom remodeling job. I was informed that they were professionals and would do a good job.
I was told that they would use Delta for the faucet and have D & S Glass to install the shower doors. They buy their products from Home Depot and the Delta faucet was not available so they decided to go with Modem. This was not my choice but they installed it without my knowledge.
While doing the bathroom they damaged an almost new window in the bathroom. The so-called carpenter they had on the job did not know what he was doing and now the window does not work. They did not know how to match the wood casing for the window. I finally had enough of them playing around with the window that I called the company that installed the window to repair it. Jim insured me that H. Jack's would make right on the window.
Jim ordered a shower door from Home Depot and told me the difference would make up for the damage window. I was not allowed to pick out what I wanted from D & S Glass. Since I was paying the bill, this did not make sense but it was a way for H. Jack's to get the job done and out of the house.
They installed a new floor but damage it and had to relay the floor. Instead of taking up the floor, they laid a new floor over it cutting around the vanity. What a mess that they made of the flooring job. I called Jim and he had them take up the floor and lay a new one. He told me that I was not going to be billed for the second floor.
In addition, I have seen a better tiling job than the job done in my bathroom. Many of the tiles were not laid properly. The tiles were not even and I had to point this out to the lead plumber, Doug. He had to cut out the tiles and replace them where if it were done right the first time, this would not have to be redone.
When they reinstalled the Jon, they left a rag in the drain. I had to tell them that the Jon was not flushing properly. I would think that they would test out the Jon after reinstalling it.
I had to fix the electrical in the bathroom. I was not going to argue with Doug but ended up fixing it after the job was done.
H. Jack's did not do a good job of cleaning up after them. I came home from work every night and had to clean up the house where they tracked dirt in. I even cleaned the bathroom up after they finished with the job. I found dings in the door molding and wall where they banged into them moving material in and out of the bathroom. These were never fixed and I ended up fixing them.
There seems to be a communication problem between Jim and the workers. Jim tells me one thing and the workers do another. The workers claim that Jim never tells them of what to be done with the bathroom. Jim claims that this is not true.
I was given a verbal estimate of the remodeling job but I should have asked for an itemized bill at the beginning of the job. When Doug was done with the job, he handed me the bill. It was expensive job and now I wished that I went with another contractor. I feel that the price was high for the quality of work that I received on the bathroom or I was never given the choice of fixtures or shower door that I wanted in my bathroom. I would never know if I was given credit for the window and not charged for the second floor.
I never saw Jim after I called him with complains about the bathroom. He never came back to the house to inspect the bathroom job. They just wanted to get the job done and onto the next job.
They never checked new tub and now I am waiting for them to fix the tub. I was assured on the phone that they would be here this week to fix the tub but a no show. H. Jack's do not stand behind their work.
I will not have H. Jack's for a plumber in the future.
Jeremy H.Our 2yr old son put a dozen or so small rocks and two sticks into our cleanout drain and water began backing up from our basement floor drain. HJack's promptly came out the same day we called and nearly matched the over the phone quote from another company and told her this job was no problem at all. Well my wife wanted it fixed so she could get back to normal water use so I agreed over phone from work to proceed. Unfortunately three weeks later water was backed up again? After looking down the cleanout they tell me there are still rocks and a stick down there and they would have to bring a pumper truck and charge $500-600? Why was the stick still in there? I removed it myself within an hour after they left - what a joke! Should have went with the other company; they assured me it would be fixed and sticks removed for a little less money than what HJack's charged. SMH
I had a problem with a furnace and called a little after 5pm. They said evening rates would apply $225/hr. I said okay. Technician came and took 1/2 to complete and furnace worked perfectly. Billing was another matter. The part $189 should have been covered by warranty, they said it wasn't. Their bill came to $730 but it was unitemized, so I asked for an itemized billing. Thus the $189 warrantied part and 489 for the 1/2hr of labor. I called and complained and they said they found out part was under warranty and agreed to accept the $225 labor as originally told by the technician. Unfortunately I also had a problem with boiler in my home a day after the first furnace. I never asked for a labor rate and did not keep track of their time on the job. That bill came to $2800. Just wonder how much I am being overcharged on that one. So they did good furnace work but make sure you get a labor rate and keep track of their time on the job. Oh and by the way I paid the first bill in full, but decided to make payments on the $2800 bill, now they are harassing me with certified mail. Maybe I should talk to the BBB.
Jessica B.Called about our furnace that wasn't working. They said it was unsafe, and completely needed to be replaced. Quoted me about $10,000 for new system. Good salesmen (in a bad way) about trying to sell new furnaces. It was just me home and not my husband , so maybe they were trying to take advantage of my limited knowledge. Called vecchino bros for second opinion. They came and fixed a fuse, less than $100 service call; meanwhile I paid h jacks $350 for ""cleaning"" and""inspecting"" the furnace, which they didn't even clean properly! Would never recommend.
Thanks AGAIN to TJ's for getting the shower to work that was installed by HJack's last June. After seven months we are looking forward to using it for the FIRST time. Working with HJack's was impossible and going to a different plumber to fix their errors should speak volumes.
Crooks, Called for furnace problem, Charged $300. to start one month old hot water tank. ( not the problem, Tank was down because of water in drain pan from furnace, Had to push button to start). Called back to fix what they were suppose to fix, Charged $700. to change $29. Expansion tank. They do not even deserve one star. N.F.G.
