Called H.Jack Langer for a furnace repair. They were prompt in their response, reasonable in price, and knowledgeable. I recommend them for any furnace repair.

This past fall I had to replace my outdoor faucet because it was leaking. I actually installed the original faucet myself, and it really wasn't a difficult job. I initially thought they would have charged me around $200-$300 dollars to replace it. Well they quoted me $600 dollars!! Are you kidding me?? They said they had to adjust the copper pipe and re-solder it. I'm getting older and was recently recovering from surgery, so I reluctantly agreed to it. They said they installed a more quality faucet, but the installation wasn't as clean as it should have been. I've done some plumbing myself and built my own 800ft addition on my home, so It's not like I don't know a quality job when I see it. They finished the job, but as they backed up and pulled out of my driveway with their truck, they tore up my neighbor's lawn! It really got under my skin when I noticed they put up their H. Jack Langer sign in the front of my house without asking for my permission! It wasn't bad enough they overcharged me for replacing and installing a simple outdoor faucet, but they feel they had every right to get free advertising by using my property to install their advertising sign?? I also have an advertising background so I know businesses usually have to pay a placement fee to place an advertisement! When I saw the sign, I immediately removed it! I know a lot of home repair companies have been doing this lately. Customers should complain and ask for a reduction in their bill to compensate for the ""free"" placement of their advertising sign! I would never use H. Jack Langer again. They're way overpriced and the job wasn't done as well as it should have been. It took less than an hour to complete.

H Jack Langer Plumbing and Heating did an amazing job on a complicated dishwasher install for my parents. Thank you Chuck and colleague! They were able to come out the next day when Home Depot was unable to complete the install (they have strict requirements for liability reasons and older homes in PA often don't meet them, it turns out).

I called another popular area plumber and they were at least 10 days out and couldn't haul off the old dishwasher.

H Jack Langer guys were able to relocate an electrical box as well as move and install a new water shut off needed to fit the new LG unit and bring the shut off valve from the lower level to near the dishwasher while they were at it. they hauled off the old, non working one and cleaned up the work area.

From the moment I spoke with scheduling (Donna?), I felt comfortable and confident that my directions and requests from out of state would be followed. And they were. She must've been taking detailed notes because I was impressed that the plumber was following them and called me before he left to discuss the work and collect payment. She also reassured me that they would ""get the job done"" and could easily pick up any extra or specialty parts if needed. That is what I like to hear. A knowledgeable scheduler. I don't want to hire multiple trades and services unless absolutely necessary or speak with someone who doesn't know the capabilities of their crew.

The final piece in my recommendation is that the two guys who had to spend several hours preparing the electrical and plumbing were very cordial and friendly with my parents. Particularly my father who has spent decades doing plumbing and electrical on the house himself but no longer can - it's a struggle for him to trust the job to others.

They were pleased with Chuck and his colleague, the labor, problem solving and easy of talking with them. This means a lot to me because my father also has difficulty hearing and can be a little more difficult to understand when speaking. The plumbers were very respectful and have earned my parents (reluctant but likely) repeat business. It did cost more to have them out there for several hours doing all the fixes than anticipated, but I'm so happy they were able to. This was not a straightforward install and that's why they're were without a working dishwasher for more than a year!

in my situation, they exceeded my expectations for plumbing and service.

Had a clogged sewer drain on a Saturday. Quoted the first hour would be between $200-300. They arrived, got out and said it's $349 for the first hour. SCAMMERS! They tell you a lower price so you will pick them for the service and then up the price once they arrive. They know you won't tell them to leave once they are there, especially when it's an emergency. Sneaky scamming company. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

We could not relight the pilot light on our gas stove heater. Called H Jack and they came right out. They looked at it, did the exact same things I did (tried to light it with the igniter...). They then called me at work and said the replacement parts would be $900. When I said I wanted to sleep on it, the service guy tried to strongarm me by saying we wouldn't be able to get an equivalent heater and fixing it would fix it for the long term. After my wife told me they didn't even take the heater apart, I popped the front glass off and relit the pilot light with a lighter. Like I should have to begin with. Now I'm out the $119 service call charge, which I basically paid for them to tell me the fix would be $900 more. Highway robbery. Do not trust these guys. They'll bilk you first chance they get.

Update: The owner called me personally after seeing the review. He apologized and offered a partial refund, then a full refund. I appreciated the goodwill.

Overpriced and Incomplete work. Had a bathroom renovation in which the bath tub, floor and walls surrounding tub had to be replaced. Estimate was high but I expected high results. Took 4 and a half days and both would leave for long stretches as if they were taking their time. When completed, the wood above the tub on all 3 walls were exposed, the floor in certain areas were left uncovered where you can see the grout/cement. Was told they were not responsible for the drywall that is going to be needed to fix the exposed wall. When they do a estimate they are not going to tell you everything, you will be surprised the outcome because it doesn't match what they say. DO NOT CALL FOR A RENOVATION, all they probably can do is repair and even I don't trust that judgment. WILL NOT USE THEM IN FUTURE.

We had a plumbing issue at our business recently and we called H Jack Langer to come out and fix it. Not only did they arrive within 30 minutes of our call, they quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it so that our bathroom was back up and running that same afternoon. Their customer service was first class all the way from the kind woman whom we spoke with when we called in, to the two gentlemen who came and fixed the issue we had. They were extremely professional. We will most definitely be calling on them for any future problems that should arise in regard to our plumbing and heating. Thanks H Jack, we very much appreciate it!

Decent plumbers, horrible, horrible customer service.

It's not worth it--just go somewhere else. There are lots of other plumbers around Erie.
