The HA Thompson in Bismarck I would not recommend. When we hired them to install our commercial heaters in our indoor arena, we awarded the work on the basis they would service our location. They gladly agreed, obviously to obtain the commercial installment. However when we call for service we were told that they cannot service the equipment. The acknowledge they had promised to service this account, however will not come out. If you are looking for a new install, do not trust the words they speak. Their word means nothing!

The man was so rude. All huffy and puffy. glaring around. His body language was very negative. He seemed on the edge. I told him he doesn't have to help us; he smiled so big and said sorry then ran out the door so fast. my wife ent with them cause they have good reviews but I don't think they're worth the time. Very unprofessional.

I've been working with H.A. Thompson for a few years now and they've always been very fair to me. I have a maintenance agreement with them to keep my AC/Heater serviced. We recently had them come over to fix a small plumbing issue. The serviceman was quick, but a day after the fix was made, our toilet continued to run. We called them back to fix it correctly. He did, but we were charged over $400 for service and parts. I looked at the cost of the parts and they charged us around 200% mark-up on the simple parts. They also charged us for the time it took the plumber to run get the parts. When I called to get the price adjusted, I was told that they need to make money, too. We will no longer use the H.A. Thompson plumbers.

Terrible customer service...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Had a technician come out to convert our new cooktop from Natural Gas to Propane. Tech couldn't find one of the orifices to convert, thinking the manufacturer didn't ship it. It was found soon after he left the house. Called to tell him, he stated he would come out ""no charge."" (I know, why would there be a charge for HIS mistake). He came out a week or so later to complete the job. Soon after, we receive an additional bill for this 2nd trip ($120). Called the company, were told a supervisor would call us Monday. By Wednesday, still no response from this ""supervisor,"" so called them again. It's been over 3 weeks since this 2nd bill was received. Sent letter to BBB, according to complaint progress, Thompson has been sent notice twice, last time 4 days ago. We still have no response from the company. We refuse to pay for this 2nd trip, as it was technician's error in not finding the orifice that was here the entire time.

Very unprofessional. They left my house an absolute mess and did more damage than anything. The plumber broke some of my vases and gashed my tub and sink. He left a huge mess in my sink, on the floor and all over the walls. He even ground metal from the pipes into my flooring causing rips in it. No one returned my calls when I called to ask what was going to be done to compensate for all of the damages.

I like these guys, some of them are cranky, but if I was clearing out a clogged can, I would be too. They get there as quick as possible, and respond to any questions/ concerns with respect. The communication is not perfect at the office with so much going on. But in general, I know I will continue to use them and recommend them highly to my friends and family (well, the ones I like anyway!).
