Guy Ferguson and his fireplace expert Darwin have given amazing service to our gas fireplace on multiple occasions - from standard annual maintenance to after-hours phone tech support. Recently, we had to call after 8pm because the remote wasn't working - via text messaging, Darwin helped us troubleshoot the issue, and get the system working again. We VERY highly recommend this company for its customer service!

Guy, is the guy! He is a no nonsense plumber with a gitter done attitude. He has essentially re-plumbed almost our entire home and at a rate we could not begin to compete. His work is top notch.

2.5 - 3 stars. I've experienced better, but I paid more for it, too.

The good: the owner is nice and personable. Quotes are verbal, and won't be written up unless you commit. I wasn't told that at first, as I expected a written quote. I know contractors hate the business end of their work, but who likes paperwork other than attorneys? Pricing was reasonable, except that the range he gave ended up being the upper number of the verbal quote. He added to the figure on the day of the job as he forgot to include something, which is odd considering his experience. Another reviewer experienced the same thing -- adding a charge in the middle of a job. Is that ethical? Typical? I'm a cynic, so -- probably. I could have been more assertive in negotiation, but as I stated, his pricing was reasonable compared to some competitors. Most of the work was very good. More fittings/couplings on straight runs than optimal, but overall good, and it works.

The not so good: the actual plumber -- the ones that do the work, not the owner -- is a journeyman who is eligible to take his master's exam. He used too much flux, as we still smell it and see cloudy water a week later. Copper supply lines showed less than optimal placement and configuration through the joists and around the HVAC duct. I was available for questions and guidance so I should have been consulted before he proceeded. The crew wasn't so neat, and did not clean up after themselves diligently. We had to ask them to lay down dropcloths to protect our floors after they entered the house from our wet and icey sidewalks. And they forgot to bring a construction vacuum when they should have anticipated lots of debris. They left cig butts and some debris in our driveway, plus dumped some wood shavings around the base of a bush thinking it would blend in with our brown mulch. But it stood out like a sore thumb, and doing such a thing is disrespectful of a customer's property.

I engaged Ferguson Plumbing to fix a leak in my kitchen faucet. He replaced the washer and within days the sink was still leaking. I phoned him and told him and he said he would not charge me to come out and take a look at it and that it might be that a whole new faucet assembly would be require.d. I agreed and asked him to select one for me. He came today with a Moen faucet and replace the kitchen faucet . . . but wanted to charge me for another visit. I reminded him about our conversation and he reversed the $70.00 from my bill. However, when I came home later, there was water pooled under my sink, and I isolated it as from the cold water hose not being tightened properly. I got a wrench and had to fix it myself . . it was clearly not tightened properly. Also, may I add, he was one hour late arriving to a noon appointment and did not answer my calls when I phoned him. Then, he forgot to bring the cover for the sink sprayer . . so his assistant showed up hours later and brought it to me and left . . without offering to help me install it. So, not only have I had to repair Ferguson's work, but I have to find someone to help me install the cover for the sprayer. Not happy and will not solicit this company again.

Great work on a minor plumbing job, and they ended up charging me less than what they estimated (and their estimate was less than other companies).

Called in to work on a leak. Identified and fixed other minor plumbing problems. Came back out when the leak wasn't resolved, and didn't charge me, even though it wasn't their work at fault. Friendly and reliable.

A P.S. to my blast of Ferguson Plumbing.

My leak still existed after Ferguson plumber left. I had a another plumber engaged to correct the shower leak today. I decided to call yesterday and tell Mr. Ferguson about my bad and expensive experience. He said they guaranteed their work and would send out a plumber with no additional charge.

Nik and assistant, Jake, came this afternoon, and determined almost immediately I needed new washers. Nik obviously knew his business and no more leaks. A very good ending to a very bad previous experience. Hooray to Nik and Jake for a job well done!

4. What they eventually did plumbing wise seemed fine.

Negatives.
1. We had leak in 1st floor. They did not go up to 2nd bathroom right above leak and check. Instead they started cutting ceiling dry wall. Seemed odd - why would you not check obvious first? SO after they cut our ceiling then they go up???
3. Found simple leak and $400 later it was fixed? $400 for a leak on a gasket on bottom of toilet tank? WOW!
4. They send 2 guys not sure what the 2nd guy does other then run out to truck and get things for first guy. Then they bill you equally for each guy X hours? I called for plumber not plumbers? Seemed odd for such small job. Be great if it made job faster , but that seemed not to be the case.
5. Messy - they got dry wall on their feet and walked everywhere. If you have super neat house do not use these guys.
6. Left black stain on carpet in bathroom. Admitted to it, but still left it.
7. No quality control follow up from owner How did my guys do? Were you satisfied etc.

All things considered I would not recommend this vendor.

Have used these guys twice and both times poor quality. The last time particularly bad: could not repair the faucets in three sinks; could not determine why toilet was making an odd sound; did not turn the hot water back on in one bathroom; worked slowly to run up the clock. Took over two hours and charged over $300. Never again will I use these incompetent people. Robbers.
