Guy Plumbing specializes in repair for toilets, faucets, clearing drain issues, troubleshooting water waste & disposal issues. We proudly serve as a Rheem Pro installer for traditional water heaters. Moreover, we offer assessments & installations of seismic earthquake valves.

Furthermore, we serve as a certified parts distributor for Sloan/Flushmate.

In 1948, in the small town of Menlo Park, David Donald Guy founded his plumbing company out of his family home on Oakley Ave. With his wife Elvira, he built a foundation for the business to thrive. Shortly after, he was supported by his children Roger, Alan, and Mike, and Guy Plumbing came to life.

In 1973, we incorporated, Roger and Alan took over the operation and were joined by Roger's child David. During 1988, they relocated to its current site at 1265 El Camino Real and launched a plumbing showroom.

The grandson of Alan and David David, along with their families, operate the plumbing service and display area. During 2009, David's great-granddaughter Camille joined the company, bringing in the fourth wave of Guys.

I just called them as I have a sewer issue and do not know anyone in Menlo Park. A very helpful lady, Yanira gave me the number for the city, that I should call 1st! If it turns out not to be a city issue then she provided 2 more names and numbers for other plumbers that do that kind of work!
That is what you call TOP CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will definitely be calling them back the next time I need services they provide!

Troy from Guy Plumbing was able to replace my Hans Grohe Shower handle cartridges that we has all but given up changing after a year of bringing in various plumbers and contractors all singing the same tune after sparing not few a big bangs on the poor diverter knob and such..We were just a step from tearing the wall and costing ourselves unnecessary 1000$ or so and much more in intangible aggravation! It was time to replace an old tired toilet. So I dropped on at Guys to see what they could show me in a water saving model. They had a large number on their floor and most were in stock. So I was able to order one for installation the very next day. The plumber was a few minutes early, removed the old toilet, and installed the new one, and was gone in 50 minutes! Incredible. And very professional.

I just had an extremely disappointing experience with Guy Plumbing. After reading all of the reviews, I felt confident that they were the place to call.

I had a relatively easy job and expected a great outcome. We just moved into a newly renovated home. After a week, we had a blocked toilet. I found a few construction related items in the garbage disposal so I expected something like that possibly in the toilet. The gentleman arrived in a timely manor and was careful to keep the house clean. He sent the tool into the toilet and removed toilet paper and it flushed. Good, but he didn't send it down again to confirm that there isn't anything else there to prevent toilet paper catching there again. Hopefully our problem is solved, but a second check would have been appreciated.

The bathroom sink next to the toilet had an odor. It was draining fine, but try as I might to send cleansers down it to kill the smell nothing helped. I ask that the plumber take a look. He filled the sink to see if it drained and looked down the drain. He then told me that it wasn't blocked. I already knew that. It was the odor I wanted help with. He shrugged and suggested I try vinegar as he walked out the door.

Total visit time 10 minutes. I received the bill for 1 hour. I understand that there is a minimum service fee of 1 hour, but I expect the plumber to stay and fix the problem and not run out the door. When I called to complain, I was told that they only stay as long as the job is scheduled for because they have other appointments. So apparently my job was only scheduled for 10 minutes. What if the toilet problem had taken longer than 10 minutes? Would he have left mid job? If I tried to add something major without warning, fine, but taking the pipe below the sink apart to check for a reason for the smell is a small request.

I now get to call another plumber and take time out to meet them. I would have preferred to pay more and have my issues solved in one visit. Never again.

Today was the second time I've had Guy Plumbing solve and fix a plumbing problem after other ""24/7 emergency"" plumbers couldn't figure out the problem, couldn't determine exactly what was wrong, vastly overstated the seriousness of the problem or were just plain incompetent. The two Guy guys (last time, Troy; this time, Dan) were efficient, competent, prompt and clearly superior to anyone else I've dealt with about plumbing issues. In addition, their charges, while not cheap, are fair and reasonable. There is no question that I would recommend Guy Plumbing. They really know what they're doing.

I have used Guy Plumbing for the last time.
I purchased over $800 in new faucets, etc. from them. I was told that I could return items if the packaging was not ruined.

I had someone install a shower head that cost over $150. We saved the packaging, tried out the shower head, and I decided to return it. I asked my contractor to remove it and put it back in the packaging. I was not aware that it was slightly wet when he put it back. I wasn't trying to be sneaky - I really did not know that it was wet. I thought that it could be returned it since the packaging looked like new.

Guy Plumbing would not take it back. They said that they could not sell it again because it was used. I am sure if it had been totally dry, they would have let me bring it back. In a way, I can understand their reasoning, but it was their attitude that I did not like. They were not interested in me or my problem.

Usually small businesses will go the extra mile to satisfy the customer and insure that she/he will return. They were firm. I even suggested that they could use the shower head as a display model. They would not do anything.

I even shared with them that a kitchen faucet that I also purchased had to be adapted to work with my on- demand water heater. I suggested that they ask customers before they buy a faucet whether they have this type of water heater. It would save the customer quite a bit of time. They looked at me as if I was out of my mind. It would take too much for them to find out what type of water heater a customer had.

Service like theirs, I can do without.

My shower was broken. I called Guy plumbing and heating and signed up for 2 o'clock to 4 o'clock window. The reception staff was very courteous. plumber arrived at precisely 2 o'clock. He fixed my shower within 45 minutes. Was courteous, friendly and explained everything that he did. Great service.
