In our 17 years in this area, I have never before written a negative review. Gutridge Plumbing deserves the first. Today we received a bill marked PAST DUE for work that was done 6/30/21. This is the FIRST bill we received for the service. In June 2021, we needed a faucet repair. First trip was an assessment
and the part was ordered. We paid for the part. Second trip. the plumber said part was wrong. Third trip the faucet started to leak after plumber left. Fourth trip a different plumber fixed the faucet correctly. All this happened during COVID and we had to supply masks for al lthe plumbers who came without them. I was so upset when we got the bill, that I called Gutridge and complained. After talking to several office staff. I was told that the charge for the driving time would be forgiven. I talked today with the new business manager of several months who said he came in and ""cleaned house. "" There was no record that our charge was forgiven. Manager said if we did not pay the bill, it was on our record and we could NOT call them again. We have will
pay this bill as we always have. The attitude of the new management means we will be looking for a new plumbing company.
We have been pleased with Gutridge Electric for generator work.
Tim M.First of all Gutridge provides preventive maintenance at my home every year for HVAC, which is setup through my home warranty company. So when my in-laws AC unit quit working I had to include Gutridge in my requirement of getting at least 3 estimates when having work done. They were not the cheapest estimate and they were not the most expensive ( I got 4) but their price was most competitive for the the equipment (Goodman) that they provide. From Tyler and Tom who provided me with the estimate to Ron & Tom who did the work in a home that's at least 70 years old the process was very smooth and the whole HVAC system was replaced within a weeks time. Thank you Gutridge for your Price, Quality , Professionalism and Workmanship!!!
Joe S.Did a decent job with some plumbing work I needed. Very slow to respond, but generally I trusted the work they did once they got to me. I guess considering the demands right now for trades help, it's to be expected.
Bridget R.I hired Gutridge for a new pole barn. They put the water line and the sewage line too close - so the sewage line has to be encased in cement. My roof is leaking where they put in the pipe for air. They never completed the contract so I have no outside water. I have complained and Alan - who is supposex to write estimates has NOT called me back. I left a voicemail for,one of the Gutridges who said Alan would call me to get the work completed. My roof has leaked into the insulation and drywalll. Gutridge sold the company. Pick another plumber!
Dane M.In a couple of words, un-effing believable. I took the day off so they could install a water softener. I received a phone call from them 2 hours before they were scheduled to arrive and was told they ""were backing out"" of the job. When I asked them why, I was told my place was ""filthy"". Apparently someone at this company is blessed with X-ray vision, and was able to see what the inside of my place looks like while they drive by at 35 mph. The outside is not country club manicured, but then again, it IS a 150 year old farm house with horses, chickens, etc. Had someone actually come into the house and then passed judgement, that would be one thing, but to drive by and declare the inside to be ""filthy"" without laying eyes on it is something I've never observed in plumbers in my life.
So if you have time to dust and polish the silver before they drive by, this business might be a good fit for you, otherwise, I'd pass.
Chad J.This company allows unlicensed contractors to buy equipment under their name and install units. This company backs up said contractor and will not even look at unit. Single dad 2 kids and Im out 3 thousand dollars. Watch out.....for Kyle Kistler. I have a furnace I can't use because he took a Sawzall to the roof jack and cut it to short. Gas fumes come inside the house. He put the wrong pressure head in. That why it wasn't cooling Kyle. I paid another 350 to get that fixed. A-coil isn't even sitting over vent.. Tried to save money but it didn't work out
Victoria R.After spending several weeks waiting for another plumbing company to decide if they wanted to install a simple gas line in our kitchen, we called Gutridge Plumbing. They came out same day, bid the job, and had it accomplished only a few days later. They weren't cheap, but they were responsive, professional, and did a great job.
I have had business with Gutridge plumbing several times over the last 20 years. Pror to my last experience I was satisfied.
My last experience, however, led me to wonder if they have gotten too big to care.
... I called them to install a new line to a gas stove. The installed the line, The new line, however, leaked due to faulty parts (the flex line ending was damaged and would not seal). We only figured out what the bad smell was several months later as guests asked us about the smell (we had gotten used to it and thought it was just our smelly basement). Because this was several months later, Gutridge refused to address the problem...we had our gas cut off by the gas company and had to engage another compay to solve the leak. Gutridge so far has refused to refund the labor cost that installed faulty parts.
Even though I had a good experience for 20 years with this company, will I ever do business with them again? NO! My assessment is that they have become too big to care about the residential customer. Suggest you look elsewhere!
