So I had a sewer line back up at my house. Not fun, and worse got some expensive quotes from my go-to guys. People came out, poked around, and were quoting me wholesale replacement of my sewer line. I really felt uncomfortable with the numbers coming back, so I found GS off of this very site.

Gene was awesome, showed me the problem, what he knew and didn't know at that point, which with a sewer blockage is part of the problem, got me to a livable state, then for the major repair he gave me a fair price, and knocked out the repair in a day, just like he said he would.

I appreciated him showing me at different stages what he was looking at and my options for repair. I have had the experience in the past of sitting around sweating, wondering what the total was going to look like. He didn't mind me being nosy and checking out the work from time to time, and his crew was as friendly and honest. Overall, very glad I called him, and would recommend him to anyone.

We just moved into our house and using all the water, showers and toilets normally. First the toilets stared to backup...then the showers...and then everything else. I had this issue in the house we had just moved from and they had to rooter out roots close to the street, so i assumed this was similar, since the house we moved into had been sitting dormant for several months. I call Gene on a Saturday and left a message. Within 15 minutes I recieved a call back. I told him what was going on, and he was on his way. Neither of us realized this would be a bigger job then it lead on to be. He was able to get the line cleared and warned us this was going to happen again and a Clean-Out needed to be installed in a common place where the problems were occuring. Within a day, we were backed up again....Gene told us so! He came back out the next day and did the full-on investigation to determine the full scope of te work. Within 2 days, we had everything installed and fully functional. Gene and his team were very professional, super-friendly and mindful of our situation. He was very upfront about the costs, but I was not too sensitive about the price, as long as the quality was there. I assure you, you will get both from GS Custom Plumbing. I will not call anyone else for my plumbing needs. Thank you Gene!

I needed a plumber asap because my bf dropped an electric razor in the toilette--the head came off and I flushed it by accident! Oops! But I had no clue who to call in the plumbing world until I yelped it ... and THANK YOU yelpers because GENE was great! So nice, very professional, reasonably priced AND he fixed the issue quickly. LOVE THIS GUY.
But let me go back a bit. We had a total backup in our main sewer line. We had tried snaking it ourselves, but the rental unit only went 100 feet. And seriously, it was NOT something I would want to do again. It was a Sunday, and I just wanted it fixed. We couldn't flush the toilets or run any water. So it was a bit of an emergency. We called Mike Diamond because they are well known. A MISTAKE. That dude was so useless it was nothing but a waste of our time. I came to my senses and yelped ""Sherman Oaks Plumber"" and Gene was the first name that came up. I called him, but it was late on a Sunday, so he came out at around 8:45am the next morning. 15 minutes early by the way. He fixed the problem, ran a camera, and installed a clean out for us all for less than $1000. Mike Diamond had quoted us $5000 and didn't do ANYTHING.

Gene is the man. Also, my dad was instantly ""buddies"" with him. We will call Gene again for ALL plumbing issue we have. I suggest you save yourself the headache of dealing with anyone else and call him too. Definitely don't call the idiots at Mike Diamond. The reason they ""Smell good"" is because they don't do shit. Literally.

Gene is great. Our toilet was mysteriously leaking -- thankfully clean water -- and we called him for help. He called before his arrival, came promptly and was very considerate in doing his work efficiently and quietly which was important since we have a newborn in the house. We will definitely be calling Gene back for all our plumbing needs.

Gene is an absolute stand up professional. I called him the day after Christmas to check out a preventative water main issue that was related to an emergency service which I already had under way. He called me back immediately and went to the site only a few hours later. Another plumber suggested a $6,000 fix but Gene honestly let me know that nothing needed to be performed. I greatly appreciate his honest opinion and I will absolutely use him again in the future.

I can't say enough to endorse this guy. He's a great plumber that doesn't want to kill you with charges. He tells you what needs to be done and does it quickly for significantly less that anyone else I've worked with. No upselling, just what you need to get the job done right so it will last a long time. Gene is also a really nice person you don't mind having in your house. Very efficient, willing to work Sunday when necessary. This guy is a gem.

I had an issue with my sprinkler system. I recently had a landscaper attempt to fix a broken valve. I thought it had been fixed but turns it the valve was still not working correctly and I was slowly leaking water which was adding to my water bill. I contacted Gene and soon after sending an email, I received a call from him. He was extremely nice over the phone. We set up a time for him to come over and take a look. He was able to quickly see that my sprinkler valves were not installed correctly. One of them was also broken. I decided to have him replace both valves to ensure that everything was new and in working order. Gene quickly replaced the valves and patiently helped me test the sprinkler system and also examine the water meter to make sure there was no more leaking. To me, reliability is the key to success when it comes to the people you higher to do work on your house. Gene was prompt, polite, and fixed the problem with ease and efficiency. I will definitely use him in the future.

I love dealing with people that have 5 star ratings here on Yelp and Gene is no exception. He called back quickly after I left a message early on Thanksgiving eve, talked me off the ledge (I had a broken water main and was having 10 people over for Thanksgiving the next day).
I texted him a few photos of the pipe and a little while later he arrived with all the tools and materials needed to replace the 50 year old , 60' galvanized pipe.
Gene and his crew are personable and professional and I would gladly and highly recommend him to anyone without hesitation.
His priced seemed fair and reasonable and did not at all seem ""seasonally adjusted"". If anything, it was probably less than others would have charged, given the circumstances.

Gene is not only a really great plumber but he is one of the nicest people we have ever met. He not only fixed the plugged up sink but fixed our faucet that another plumber said could not be fixed great work and thank you.
