Overcharged by a LOT to recharge air conditioner. R410A refrigerant is $23/lb for a 25lb bottle. I was charged $77/lb to fill my 12lb system. Very costly, making a 200% profit on refrigerant is pretty despicable

Saturday afternoon after Thanksgiving (holiday weekend of course) our heat pump stopped blowing air and of course the temperature was going to the 30's Sunday morning. The technician from Griffin returned my call in 15 minutes. While I was explaining the issue the heat came on so we decided to let it run hopefully until Monday. Sunday morning it wasn't working and smelled like something was burning. He was here within 30 minutes, discovered that the fan motor was burning out and the circuit breaker was hot and ready to burn. Sunday was cold. Sunday night was cold. Monday morning a tech was here with the new parts and had the heat back on before mid day.

My wife and I moved from downtown Nashville to Dickson County and were accustomed to costly service calls and repairs, unreliable and sometimes shady technicians, and not-so-friendly customer service. Will and the team at Griffin Mechanical took great care of us after my 1970's unit finally bit the dust. My wife was pregnant and it was getting hot out so this was not ideal timing. The guys were very respectful of my wishes and helped me size the system to add some ducts where needed. I changed where the air handler and condenser lived and it was not an issue for them. I am a construction worker, I'm particular about my house and want things done right. They not only did a great job, but they were friendly.

Recently they called ME to set up a free service call to check the system and made sure we were tip top. That's right, I didn't have to call them. Now that's customer service.

I told them to install Nest thermostat so I can test it for work, and I don't love it. They are going to come back out and put a regular one in. The tech tried to tell me but I was insisting for test reasoning.

HVAC is expensive, so spend your money with the professional people at Griffin Mechanical. I do A/V work and appreciate the same care I give on my house.

Griffin Mechanical sent Justin Ogle over to help me find an upstairs bathroom leak that had soaked through and stained my downstairs ceiling. I had used them to my annual HVAC maintenance. Justin was able to identify the issue as a leaking shower head. The repair was minor and inexpensive. I was pleasantly surprised at the great service and professionalism. I would highly recommend that you consider Griffin Mechanical in the future.
