Wendell W. Gregg saw an opportunity! Around 1960, Wendell installed his initial plumbing system, and thus, the business began!

The business launched from a small facility located at 3rd Street and Minnesota Avenue in Bemidji. The building Wendell bought was once known as Williams Hardware. Wendell also took over Kreles Mill on 4th Street West. Elvin Burnham, his son-in-law, took over in 1961. Elvin ran the company for a few years before moving to the current site at 1815 Division Street.

In need of additional space, Elvin developed a more spacious structure at this site in the late 1970s. By this time, Elvin's son David was a teenager and took on a role at the company.

David eventually became the sole owner of Gregg's Plumbing in 2007. At this time, David's nephew Eric Roff was employed at the business while going to school and eventually landed a full-time role post-graduation. Eric absorbed a lot of important skills from his grandfather and uncle throughout this time.

This company is shit. Had them install a whole house water softeners (that we purchased online) and they itemized and upcharged to as much as the products that we bought for. Almost $2,000 to install water softeners? What a rip-off!

The main technician came, then call his runner to come and assist, of which we did not ask for. Now, they want us to pay for him & the other guy's time. Really? They even take a lunch break and sneaked in their time during our service. They were there max 4 hours, not 5.

We did not agree to it. Furthermore, I can tell that they added more items to their bill that were not rendered.

I will not be using them again. Will fight them in court. Do yourself a favor, do not use these guys for your service needs. Bait & switch is their style.

Service man very rude, i'm handicapped & he spoke in a demeaning tone repeating 4xs as if i was retarded. I haven't ever been so insulted. Telling me my broken pipe would cost in the $1000.00s.
I understand he's charging $200
.00 just for an estamate.
I have lived here over 20 yrs & never had a plumber act up like yours!

We bought our hot tub brand new and spent almost $20,000 on it. Had a couple issues that were covered by warranty but this last time we were charged $967.00. Called and talked to receptionist, said I could call someone local she said no, we come out that far just for you. They called and tried to troubleshoot over phone, didn't work. Kept telling them jets/pump 3 wasn't working. All people I talked on phone to said it would be a service call fee but no one mentioned that the fee would be $764 and fuel fee of $170 oh and $32 credit card fee. Running a business myself, I would of clarified that you might be looking at a $1000 bill. Even last time they called to see if ""trouble shooting"" worked, I mentioned i can call someone local, they just kept saying no, don't worry about it. I asked this at least 3 times over the 4-5 phone calls. The problem with tub, fuse. No trouble shooting for that.

Talked to manager after i get invoice, he states ""I tried to save you money by trouble shooting, told you you'd have to pay service call"".So unbelievably disappointed. All you had to say it will be close to $1000 and I would of hired someone else. Not to mentioned that I thought you'd take care of customers who spent a considerable amount of money with you.

The guy who fixed it though, thought maybe pump when he got here. Then stated they didn't send one with him. So, you have a service call all that way and you don't send parts that might be the issue, only jets? Thank God that wasn't the issue otherwise my invoice would be over $2000.

Side note, spent extra money when purchasing tub on spa boy that has NEVER worked. Asked everytime they came out, never was able to fix that awesome feature I was upsold on. Can't be honest, upfront or take responsibility for the product they sell. So unbelievably angry!

We've used Gregg's plumbing for over 10 years for our home hot water heater, hot tub & water softener. And our business which is a hair salon. They've been quick to respond, and were the best bid on several commercial projects. And when you have a water heater die with a house full of guests you need a plumbing business that can get things fixed. Eric has looked after us and our customers.

Purchased a pool from Eric at Gregg's Plumbing/Arctic Spas in June 2020, pre-paid in full and pool was installed in July of 2020. In February 2021 contacted Eric to report a significant water leak noted (see photos). Eric was dismissive of our concerns and did not come and physically look at the concern until March 2021 when he sent a technician to look at the problem. At this point the entire pool had dumped all of the water into our yard causing the pool frame and pool walls to buckle. We were then told we ""need to wait until the rest of the ice melts"" for them to do anything about it. Eric started making assumptions and suggesting that it was ""probably a gopher who tunneled from underneath the pool and chewed through the bottom"" and if that was what happened he said ""then there is nothing I can do for you."" I asked why he would jump to this conclusion without even investigating the problem first? He continued to repeat that we needed to wait and see what happens when the ice melts. Fast forward to April when the walls started collapsing in on themselves - Eric was contacted again and we asked for him to come and look at the issue. He said ""they were busy"" and wasn't sure when they could find time to come and look at it. When they did come and look at it, they cut several pieces out of the liner and Eric said he was going to mail them to the company. A large seam rip was noted where the pool of water had leaked out and I took a picture myself before Eric took the pieces. Eric then stopped responding to us until forwarding my husband an email from the company stating nothing would be covered as Eric had told him it was ice damage. I contacted the manufacturer and none of the pieces were mailed to them, Eric sent the company THREE pictures and none of these included the seam failure pictures. Eric has yet to respond and continues to ignore our phone calls and messages. We are left completely devastated with a 30 foot heap of garbage and nothing to show for our $7,000 pool. Please make sure you do your research before going through this company, we are incredibly disappointed.
