Jim H.Refused to give ballpark quote for basic service (snake drain). Insisted on onsite quotes only. I understand once working it may change service needed and thus price but getting a ballpark quote for a standard service should be straight forward. Usually when a company insists on onsite quotes only it is because they are planning to push for un needed upsells
I called Greenwell to come and service our furnace when it was short cycling. The technician who arrived spoke very poor English and had a difficult time communicating with me. He misdiagnosed the problem as a faulty circuit board and quoted me $1466 to replace it. I knew this was an outrageous price, but I was in a vulnerable spot with a house full of young children and a record-breaking cold front setting in. As I was writing the check, the furnace began to short cycle again, so I shredded the check and directed him to investigate further. He took a quick look at the furnace, lied to me about the age of the unit, said nothing else could be done, and that I needed a new furnace to the tune of $5800. I had him remove the circuit board and collect his things. I paid him, foolishly, for the diagnostic fee ($99) and the $10 ""fuel charge"" for him to drive less than 1 mile to my home. I called another company who had their technician at my home within the hour and who was correctly able to diagnose and fix the problem with the part even being covered under warranty. They also were able to rectify some damage left to our unit by Greenwell's technician. They also added that their charge to replace the circuit board, if that had been the issue, would have been $488. Nearly $1000 less than Greenwell's.
I have reached out to Greenwell on 3 times now and been passed to 3 different people all of whom were ""waiting for management to decide if they would be taking any action to remedy the situation"". All I have asked for is a refund of the $109 diagnostic and fuel fees since this technician misdiagnosed the issue, lied to me, and tried to charge me thousands of dollars for a new unit I did not need. Greenwell is completely avoiding responsibility for their very poor service, and as of this morning has cashed the check I wrote for $109.
If you're in need of HVAC or plumbing services, do yourself a favor and call anyone else. These scammers will not help you and will look for every opportunity to cash in on their deceptive practices.
Robin B.We had one of their techs come out to look at a job we needed done on a Friday. Said to expect the estimate by Tuesday. I called Weds cause we hadn't heard back. Was told they were working on it. I Called back Friday morning. Said she would have someone from dispatch call me back. No call, so I called again that afternoon. Was promised someone from customer service would call me right back after her lunch break. It's two weeks later and we NEVER heard back from them!!!
Markie C.I made it an appointment with Greenwell plumbing and simply put they didn't show up. Now the technician was very nice who did initially take the appointment but in the end they didn't show up we had been waiting for them and they were a no-show.
Steven K.My hot water stopped working a day ago so we had to have after hours service on Sunday. I asked a couple neighbors about who they would recommend and both said Greenwell Plumbing, Heating and Air. My wife and I were not disappointed! The technician, Jeff was very polite, courteous, and respectful of our home. He wore shoe coverings which I very much appreciate, and explained the potential problems with our water heater. After diagnosing the problem, it was determined we needed a heating element. He also explained the pricing in a very clear upfront manner. After discussing options we decided to have the heating element replaced in our 50 gallon Rheem water heater. He flushed the tank and replaced the element in a pretty prompt time frame. We are pretty sure we have found our go-to plumbing service company in Greenwell. We highly recommend them. It was nice that they offered a 10% military and first responder discount. I'm very appreciative of companies that honor vets and our first responders.
Trina M.Just had a bit of a hiccup with billing where I had to follow them up repeatedly about an issue. That has been resolved.
Their estimate during house inspection was very far off from the actual bill we got once the job was completed so that was a bit of a bummer. We decided to stick with them because they were responsive and I thought the prices were still fair. The plumbers who went out were prompt and explained the job they're going to do clearly, and finished without a hitch.
Came to give an estimate, which he charged me for. Sewage pump $1600. Did this repair myself for right at $150. Charged me $90 for a service call, what a joke of a business. What a great scam, massively over quote jobs and just make people pay for estimates..
Paul M.Good luck at getting a response. I have had several situations now where I have been unable to get in contact with anyone. Sat at a place waiting for about five hours that they were supposed to be there called they said now it was after hours, and they were going to charge me an after hours fee. Finally got them to show up at 10 pm. I had to go to the office to get them to run the camera through my line 3 weeks later. Now over a week later and still can't get them to call back at 3 attempts to find out result and get a price to repair.
Lindsay W.Tim came to our house earlier than expected which was amazing! He completed the quotes we requested very quickly and then got some parts and quickly went to work. He was very polite and informative when updating us on progress. He installed a gas line for our stove, an extra water line for our fridge and fixed a toilet that has been giving us trouble for a while! He even completely installed our stove for us! I'll be using Greenwell and specifically requesting Tim if we need any more work.
We have been customers for years and were very please with Greenwell for years but we have become increasingly disappointed. Poor communication within the company and with plumbers. Poor communication with customers. Every time we call it seems it is a two-week or more process to get things fixed properly and to haul away items, i.e. water heater and water softener. There is always a lame excuse as to why they can't take the items that day which ends up with multiple phone calls to get them back to take them away. In addition, when they installed the new water heater he cut off the usage of the water-powered backup sump pump. Guess what, it rained for days and days. Every time you call there are no notations on file for what transpired. They never show up when they are supposed to even when they notify you when they are on the way. Very poor service and poor customer service in following up.
