Robert Florez and Jay Mendoza came out to do a tune-up on our air conditioning/heating unit (through a low priced Home Depot registration) and they performed a thorough and comprehensive review of our system in a reasonable timeframe. The outside air conditioning unit was cleaned pretty well and they even graciously added a proper sized filter to my inside unit for appropriate coverage. They provided a detailed breakdown of the pluses and minuses of our system and recommended/suggested solutions to our shortcomings. They were very professional and knowledgeable.

I scheduled an $98 AC and heating tune up through Home Depot and was referred to RighTime Home Services. I scheduled an appointment for 5/24. On 5/23 I received a call from RighTime saying the tech would arrive by 9:30 am. I informed them the appointment was for 5/24, but as I was home I said alright.

The tech arrived on time and looked professional. He checked my heating and cooling system and then gave me his findings. The tech said my ""hot surface igniter read only 15.1 ohms and should read between 55-90 ohms. This indicates it's close to failure. "" Everything else was fine. As he is the expert I agreed to have the Honeywell Q3200U1004 Glowfly replaced and to pay the $245 fee. The tech changed the part and thoroughly cleaned after himself.

Before the tech left I asked to have the old part. He cheerfully complied. I then proceeded to check the resistance with my volt meter and confirmed the reading was 15.1 ohm. I then went on line to find what the resistance should be and could not find the value. All I could find was that the Glowfly should heat if 120 volts was applied to the part. If it didn't the part was bad. I could find nothing about resistance. The price of this part on line is $30.

My question to RighTime is this: Is it their policy to up sell to Home Depot leads? It would appear that it is. Secondly, why does it cost $245 (actual price is $298-I got the Home Depot discount) to change a $30 part that the tech had already accessed while doing the AC and heating tune up. I believe this is excessive and borderline criminal.

Home Depot should rethink their association with RighTime.

Right time Robert Flores came to my house on a AC tuneup promotion. He was very professional and was knowledgable in his trade. He found an ""oil leaked"" motor for the fan and ""near end of lifetime"" contact. He recommended that I replaced both components. After a few phone calls with his manager to reduce the total cost of this service which he helped a lot, I authorized the service. He did a thorough job, took his time to explain the issues, answered a lot of my questions and also cleaned up his work. I didn't really have to repair these components yet but I figure they probably will go bad in the hot summer. The cost would probably more if I call them in the summer if my AC fails. So I decided to go for the fix today since I already took the day off.
Here is the breakdown of this company:
1. Service technician: Robert Flores 4.5 stars for technical and great manners. Very technical and easy to work with. Seems to be honest and knows his trade very well.
2. Cost: you pay more. Their service is not cheap or is not reasonable. But you get for what you pay for. You get reliable and good quality but it is costly. I give a 3 star for cost. They can do a bit better if they lower 15% of their price. They have a fix charge for individual item but if you figure their labor charge after the cost of the parts it is approximately around $500 to $600 per service (not including parts). Note this is through Home Depot so you also get the backing from HD.
3. Service appointment: 3 star. They never called me the day before the appointment when they told me they would.
Overall I give this service a 3.5 star but I highly recommend Robert Flores. He is a honest and good service tech. Thanks again

I had a lovely experience with green star. I had problem with my water heater and called to make an appointment. I was a bit skeptical because they would not give me a quote over the phone but the guy was so nice over the phone and when the tech came out he was able to give me a run down of everything that was needed to be done and why. They were able to fix the problem in a speedy and clean manner. If you need something done talk to Will he will make sure that the right person comes to you at the time that best suits you. I'm very happy with the customer service I received from Will. Thanks again guys.

Let me start from the beginning:

About 6 months ago, my system goes out. Being that it's a Friday night and we were getting cold, I found Rightime. Tech came out that night, was courteous, and found the fuse that had gone out. No problem.

I signed up for the service plan that night.

Fast forward a few months: they call me about the service plan, and I should schedule for AC maintenance. I do. On a weekday, so I took a day off work. In the last hour of that 4 hour window of arrival, I get a call from Rightime with them telling me that the tech won't make it.

Damn. Okay, so let's reschedule. A few weeks later, on a saturday, as I am NOT going to take another day off work for a tech that may or may not arrive. Window was 8am to noon. I have a busy day, but I want this done. At 8, Rightime calls to tell me the tech will be arriving closer to noon.

Theeeeen they called 45 minutes before the end of the 8 to noon window to say the tech would be there in 45 minutes.

45 minutes later, at the end of the arrival window, and no tech! Brilliant! I called them to cancel the appointment since the window had expired and I wasn't about to wait around an indeterminate period of time for a tech that may or may not show up.

Despite the fact that I PRE-PAID for maintenance on their recommendation, I will not be using them to do any work on my AC system. I simply do not trust a company that failed to keep two appointments in a row.

They get 2 stars because the first tech showed up on time after-hours, and because their customer service reps are very nice.

UPDATE: I wound up contacting Home Depot regarding this, because they're subcontracting from Home Depot. HD's customer service rep told me he totally understood why I wouldn't want to work with them, and they got me a full refund for what I had paid for the maintenance program with Rightime.

So... My original review on Rightime stands, but kudos to Home Depot for taking care of it. Now using a local contractor for my AC/heating needs.

UPDATE 10/2016: They're still occasionally calling me to see if I want to sign up for service! Can't blame the call center, but that Company has some bad internal communication problems.

If they tell you they're going to do your installation in 2-4 days...they're lying! They started ours more than a week ago and there's a long way to go! Plus they didn't show up for days and didn't return our calls! Now we have a house that's trashed with holes in walls and ceilings and dust all over, and they can't tell us when they're coming back! At this point the last time they worked on our house was a week ago! So if you decide to use them you need to have a termination date and a schedule for work to be done.

What a disappointing experience dealing with this company! We had a water heater safety check & flush and we were told we must replace the water heater. The plumber replaced a valve at the water heater and he didn't tighten the water connectors, causing a big flood in the garage a few days later. We knew we had a slab pipe leak and the plumber confirmed it and told us we needed to re-pipe the entire house and he will give us an estimate after talking with his manager. After the plumber ""finished"" the work and left the house, I realized he didn't turn the water back on and later when I need to take a shower, I didn't have hot water: the flame wasn't turned on. We called him the next day and tried to fix it through the phone, but we couldn't figure it out so, he had to come to our house and do it (we appreciated it). We later got an estimate from them for re-piping the whole house for $15,000 without including patching the walls. We had another plumbing company coming over to ""fix"" the leak caused by incorrect valve install, and it turned out we didn't need to replace the water heater and we didn't need to re-pipe the entire house. We just re-piped the damaged area which cost us 10% of what we were supposed to pay for re-piping the house. We also got an estimate for re-piping the whole house from another plumbing company which was 3 times lower than Greenstar Home Services!

People are usually interested in reading the bad reviews. So, I'm saving myself some time and effort and just rating this company 5 stars with their work and that is all she wrote.

1. Well let me see where to start. In July 2014 we had our ac unit go out. We called Right time to come fix it as they were the company that installed it. When they came out they said it was 8 yrs old and using the old refrigerant and that that refrigerant was going to be obsolete soon. The Technician recommended we get a new unit. So after looking at all the options we decided to get the top of the line ac unit. They said they would have it installed in a few days. Two weeks later they were still working on getting it right. Two months later we had them back out to try to fix an electrical problem, the technicians could not figure it out so they sent the field supervisor David to ensure the job was done correctly. David said that we were having a problem because the amps from teh new machine were too much for our box. He said that he was going to home depot to get the part. He came back, installed it and left. Summer passes into winter and we don't use the ac much at all, so no issues. Come summer July 2015 we started having issues with our electrical parts of the ac. we noticed we had to keep resetting the box to restart the machine every few hours. So once again i called Right time to come fix the issue. The first tech came out and said itg needed a hard start kit and it would cost almost six hundred dollars to repair. so the family paid. When i got home from work i noticed what had been done i did some looking into it and found i didn't need the hard start kit. this was not right. I called Right time back to come back again to check the problem. This technician Gunner(very good) said it was not a hard start kit that that was wrong but he said we needed a bigger amperage on the home box. I explained that David the field supervisor told us that a year ago and said he was going to put in the correct amp into our box. we thought this was done already. Gunner said no let me show you. he said there is a box on the machine showing the number of amps it puts out. It was showing 36 on the l;ow end and 60 on the high end. our box amp was 30. Fail!!!. nGunner fixed the part showed me his work and left. GUnner was great. so this all started in julyt of this year again and we are still trying to get it right. I have spoken to Patrick the Los angeles Operations Manager, he said i would get a refund for the hard start kit. I told him we deserve the 700 dollar no disappointment fee He just brushed past me. i am reading the Right time OUR PLEDGE TO YOU!!!....What happened to piece of mind? I HAVE YET TO HAVE PIECE OF MIND WITH THIS MACHINE. what about the disappointment free guarentee?????? WE HAVE GONE WITHOUT OUR UNIT FOR TWO DAYS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT HAVE TIME FOR A TECHNICIAN TO COME OUT OR THEY GOT HELD UP OR SOME LAME EXCUSE I HAVE YET TO HAVE BEEN ASKED IF I WOULD LIKE THAT PENALTY FEE OF 700 DOLLARS FOR MY TROUBLE! How about the Complete Comfort Guarentee? I KNOW DAMN WELL OUR MACHINE HAS BEEN OFF MORE THAN THREE DEGREES BUT TITFORTAT! and finally what about the:TWO YEAR RIGHTIME MONEY BACK GUARENTEE. I AM UNDER TWO YEARS I THINK AT THIS POINT ITS TIME TO HAVE RIGHTIME GET THEIR SHIT AND GIVE US OUR MONEY BACK SO WE CAN GO ELSEWHERE AND MAYBE GET SOME QUALITY SERVICE. P.S. WE HAVE ONE ROOM IN OUR HOUSE THAT THE AC OR HEATER DO NOT WORK IN. I DO NOT RECOMMEND RIGHTIME HOME SERVICES.

2.Well i wrote my first review on Nov 19th for Rightime home services. I was called the next day and they immediately asked if i would take my review down if they could fix the problem. I said i would when i was sure my unit was right, as we got the unit in july of 14 and have yet to have the issues resolved.
The Tech came out to the house and he said it was a bad thermostat, and that we had a book shelf too close to the thermostat so it was blocking air flow to the thermostat, he also said we couldnt have our vents closed off in other rooms. My response was the book shelf has been there from day one,how come no one has said anything til now? the vents are closed because my 91 yr old grandmother gets too cold and the first technician said to close the vents so we did. Why am i being told now that we shouldnt close them?
so after pretending he was going to install a new thermostat and getting a battery from mee to put in it, he said that my filter was too clogged and that is what caused the issue. The tech said i need to change my filter once a month.?????? really? wish i was told that at the time we spent $24,000 dollars on this top of the line unit. My old unit never had this problem!! anyhow the tech told me it was fixed and asked again if i would remvoe my review. I said not until i know its fixed and he said i guarantee it is fixed!!!
Today 11-26-15 i go to turn my heater on and the thermostat just shuts down. I can not get it back on. Hopefully this time they will send a supervisor to the house. Lets see wish me luck

I had no problems with the service. Came during the window they said they would, did a maintenance service on the furnace, installed a new thermostat. Robert was friendly and polite. I'd recommend them.
