Elissa Lin R.Billy showed up with Ben in tow. They were courteous, and Billy really knew what he was doing and fixed a number of plumbing issues we've had for over a year!
He saw that our condenser was causing the leak in our boiler room, figured out the problem and took a picture of it so he can share the info with the AC Specialist in his shop to come out on the next trip.
So very glad that my friend recommended Greenfield! True to the high marks my friend gave me!
Kathy P.Our water heater decided to retire itself a day before surgery and 2 days after our area was flooded. The awesome call taker worked very hard and got us an appointment the same day. As a bonus, the workers called and came earlier than scheduled. The 2 guys jumped into action and installed the new water heater fast and efficiently. They were very very respectful, kind and professional. On top of that, their pricing was extremely reasonable. Greenfield Plumbing has got you covered!
Greenfield completed an extensive AC installation to our home in May 2019 with LG ductless split units. The quote provided was competitive, certainly not the cheapest but we went forward with them wanting to support a local, independent business. The work was completed on time, but unfortunately one of the main systems installed had issues from the start. For 6 months we lodged complaints with phone calls and emails with little response, and service visits that blamed LG but took little responsibility for the issue. We engaged legal counsel, and the issues were ""conveniently"" resolved and the unit was FINALLY replaced pursuant to the contract. If you need AC work done, please consider other options. This was an incredible waste of time that resulted in additional legal fees to ensure the contract was adhered to. As of now, all issues seem to be resolved and we hope that we don't have any further troubles when it's hot again.
I wouldn't recommend. I recently had one of their plumbers at my home. Billy was a bit abrupt and rude to me. He seemed to know what he was doing, but his demeanor in how he spoke to me and to the staff on his phone was very rude. I'm sorry but if I am asking for service, I do prefer the service techs to be a bit more polite and not cursing and muttering to themselves about how pissed off they are to be doing that job. What kind of service is that? What does that say about the quality of service the company has to plumbing. Maybe the HVAC services are better, i don't know. I'm not really sure I would hire them again based on my dis-satisfactory service.
Lauren C.I have to second the most recent review - we have had a great experience with Greenfield. I reached out to get a quote for a water heater replacement in the home we just bought, but we live in Brooklyn, so they let us send photos of our place rather than scheduling a consultation, which we appreciated. They also squeezed us in based on when we could meet the plumber. Two guys came (Chris and Brandon I believe) - they were on time and completed the job within 2 hours. They walked me through the work and even answered some of my new homeowner questions. I would highly recommend them and will use them again if we need them!
Jeremy T.I've read all the other reviews and have to assume there's been new management. We've had nothing but great service, way above and beyond the call of duty. As an example this past week we were told that we'd need a new boiler. One of the owners of the company proactively dropped by to double check and with just a bit of work repaired it instead - saved me thousands!!! They recognize us when we call, come to appointments on time, and are just good humans to deal with! I agree that prices are on the high end, but that's part of the cost of living in the suburbs, I don't find greenfield is egregious relative to other services nearby. Happy customer!
SUMMARY: Greenfield provided professional, courteous and knowledgeable staff that performed repairs on our HVAC systems on short notice at a competitive price.
As a loyal Yelper we surveyed the reviews and based on existing posts here would not have even considered Greenfield except that a friend and neighbor who is a top realtor with high standards said that she had personally and professionally used them and that they were her number one choice.
After a decade of loyalty to our HVAC person he passed the business on to his son who from our experience did not know what he was doing. After being without heat for 2 weeks as he came repeatedly with different ridiculous theories as to what was wrong we decided to search for a competent HVAC company.
First I tested the '24 hour availability' claim by calling @ 11:30 on a Saturday night to see if we reached a live person who would come out then on an emergent basis. I was immediately connected to someone who could come out but suggested we wait until Monday to save us the emergency fees. They passed that test with flying colors. Who needs a company that will not respond to lack of heat ASAP?
The following Monday from the moment I called and explained our dilemma Anne Marie sad they were swamped but switched me to the owner who said he could try to get someone out that afternoon.
That afternoon they sent a true professional not just 'a guy'.
He was courteous, respectful and appeared very knowledgeable.
He explained step by step how he was diagnosing the problem and readily answered all questions about the furnace without being dismissive or condescending of my concerns. The problem was diagnosed immediately and subsequently repaired During the repairs they respected our home and took the utmost care (tarps, buckets, etc) and totally cleaned up after themselves.
They are not inexpensive but competitive for their quality work. I do not want to risk the safety of my family to just any HVAC guy that comes out at a bargain.
I really do not understand the prior negative reviews about Greenfield - they are really fair, honest people and do their very best to please people as my neighbors have agreed with me. I have been using them for years - for my boiler, a/c unit and plumbing repairs and not once I have experienced bad service. The office staff is very pleasant and they even call you when the techs are on their way. Just last week, we had a cracked toilet and Billy was able to install a new one the same day! The bill was about what I expected for a brand new toilet - but since they knew I was a loyal customer for years - they gave me a big discount on the labor. Don't get deterred by people who think service is always free!
Claire C.Way, way over-priced. Not recommended.
Plumbers themselves were competent. But owner unreasonable.
Staff is rude. We had to cancel our appointment and said we would call back when ready to re-schedule. But she called us back, twice, and pushed us into re-booking (when we were still unsure if we would be home and had said we preferred to call her back). When we had to cancel (again) she was very unpleasant- will leave out the details. She got her boss on the phone, Nora, who was equally unpleasant
