This company was sent to my home by my home insurance co. My heat pump broke 4-21. They sent a guy out the 27th. He said I needed Freon. Then he said the compressor was bad. He out the freon. You are not supposed to put freon in a bad compressor.. 7 days later the unit burned up on the inside. They sent a second guy. He too the diagnosis and said we needed a new system. It took 2 weeks and numerous calls to get the info to my warranty co.

Then the warranty co ordered half the unit. Thus was another delay. The installer came out and his helper was his girlfriend. No ladder. dolly and your girlfriend was the helper.

He arrived at 10am and left at 8pm. Meantime he stood up in the attic and hit his head on sonenails. So we had to call the ambulance. They patched him up and he went on to finish it.
They charged me 930 for modifications that the tech didn't do. Never provided a receipt and charged us. 8 days later the upstairs unit is leaking because the modifications needed were not done. I had to call a second company out to do the corrections.

and replace the section in the ceiling that was leaked on.

I have been in real estate for 10 years and have been a homeowner of numerous different properties, all the while working with hundreds of different contractors; Greendian is BY FAR the WORST company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Considering 99% of the reviews for Greendian have a similar story as mine, I have no idea how they are still in business.

The following is a summary of our nightmare over a period of 5 weeks with no AC, 6 appointments and countless hours of missed work as we waited for Greendian, who never completed the work.

After our AC broke on April 16th, Greendian was hired through our home warranty company and assigned to repair our AC. Our 1st appointment was scheduled on April 19th between 8:00-10:00 AM. The technician arrived around 12:15 PM. He was on-site for about an hour and determined the problem was the evaporator coil, which needed to be replaced. He claimed he would be sending in the diagnosis, including the request for the new parts, later that afternoon to our home warranty company. It took two weeks for Greendian to send the report to the warranty company, after we called numerous times asking for a status update.

On May 6th, our 2nd appointment was scheduled to have the new evap. coil installed. The appointment was scheduled between 8:00AM-12:00PM. At 11:47 AM we received a call stating the wrong parts had been ordered and we needed to reschedule so they could order the correct parts. On May 13th we received a call saying the manufacturer for our current system was no longer making parts and we would need to replace the entire unit. We agreed to have the new unit ordered and scheduled the 3rd appointment for May 17th between 4:00-9:00PM. The technician never arrived, nor did we get any calls saying he was running late.

The next day, w called Greendian to report no one showed up. When asked why no one ever came, they said the technician had been running late on his previous appointment. I told them they should have called to let us know. I then rescheduled for our 4th appointment for May 19th. Once again, it was a no show and there was no call to cancel or reschedule. We called Greendian, again, the next day and were told the ""no show"" was a problem with that technician and they weren't sure why he didn't show up. We asked to speak to a supervisor, who agreed to provide us with a discount due to all of the frustration.

We rescheduled, again, for May 22nd between 10:00AM-6:00PM. However, we called Greendian stating that since this was our 5th appointment, we could not continue taking all this time off work so we needed to narrow down the arrival time. We were promised someone would arrive between 4:00-5:00PM. At 5:00, no one had arrived. We tried calling Greendian several times with no response. At 6:45PM, a truck pulled into the driveway. I went out to see who it was and the driver said he was dropping off the new AC unit. I asked if he was also installing it and he said no, the installer was on his way. About 20 minutes later, we received a call from the installer stating Greendian had messed up the schedule and he wouldn't be able to make it that night. He asked to reschedule for the following day, the 23rd, and said he would arrive around 3:00PM, for our, now, 6th appointment.

Throughout the day on the 23rd, we called Greendian four times, each time asking for a supervisor to contact us because we wanted to discuss the price and ask for a further discount, seeing as how this was our 6th appointment and we still had no AC. No supervisor ever contacted us. By 4:00PM, no technician had arrived and we still had not heard from anyone. Throughout the rest of the evening, I attempted calling Greendian numerous times; it eventually got to the point that my calls were being hung up on each time the phone rang.

The following day, I contacted Greendian and was told that no technician came out because we had ""refused service"" and we were ""refusing to pay."" I told them we never refused service and we left numerous messages asking to speak to a supervisor to discuss the price and no one had contacted us back. I asked to speak to a supervisor, again, and was told I could not speak to a supervisor and they would not agree to schedule us again unless we paid prior to the job being completed.

At this point, we contacted our warranty company, who was aware of the situation, and had them agree to allow us to use our own contractor. I contacted my HVAC contractor, whom I have used for several years for work. They were able to schedule us for an immediate appointment. Unfortunately, when they arrived to install the new unit that Greendian had dropped off, we found the system was not compatible with the outdoor unit. This is something any reputable AC contractor would have made note of considering they run off of two completely different freons. Thankfully, my contractor was able to get the additional parts immediately.

We also filed a complaint with the BBB.

Contracted through my home warranty company...5 no-call/no-shows...FIVE!!! There was never a manager/supervisor available, never returned calls or followed up, office staff was rude and incompetent. They even admittedly made a mockery out of our frustration by listening to our call as a group on speakerphone. Absolutely THE WORST company I have ever dealt with.

Worst HVAC company I have ever used. Waited 3 weeks for them to repair my heat pump. No luck. Cancelled them and hired another company. Up and running 3 days later. Beware of this Greendian.

My home warranty company contracted Greendian for a service call. First, the tech was 1 hour late past scheduled time with excuse company cell phones get bad service. Over a week of me call home warranty company for a status, they had to finally put on a formal request for the service call ticket. Once the service ticket came in, i was informed my out of pocket cost was $2380. I request from Greendian a cost breakdown by parts and labor but have been getting the run around for 2 weeks. This companies customer service is horrible, all they do is keep lying about everything. I have since started to look at doing a cash out option since this company is incompetent, unreliable, overpriced. Recommend that you never use this company.

It's too bad that you have to give any stars for this company. They don't return calls (three times they've promised to call and haven't), they don't coordinate or respond to the warranty company that contracts with them, they ordered the wrong part and don't bring their own ladder. They only scheduled a time to do the work (after getting my $100 payment to look at it) after I called repeatedly and asked to schedule a time. They didn't properly submit paper work to the warranty company either.

Incompetent, fraudulent, unreliable, rude, and should be shut down immediately. Spent 2 nightmare weeks dealing with these utter bozos with no solution, lost work days, lost hours of my life. My home warranty company contracted Greendian to repair my AC. Greendian never called me, and when I called them and spoke to them, they couldn't find a technician with a ladder and told me they'd call me right back. They never did. I had to call the warranty company several more times to book an appointment with them, and they finally got them to agree to an appointment, but I had to call Greendian again to set it up. I took the morning off work and canceled some meetings the day of the appointment, and the night before, I went and bought a ladder just in case, since they sounded very unreliable when I spoke to them. (Long hold times of 10+ minutes, had to give my contract number 3-4x each call, had to spell my name letter by letter several times, etc.)

I called them the morning of the appointment to confirm they were coming, and lo and behold! They forgot to enter my appointment into the system! It was the same man I had spoken to three times before when I'd called, so I asked him why he did not put me in the system. He refused to apologize or explain why he hadn't put me in the system. He just kept repeating ""you're not in the system."" I had to wait a full week to find another company to repair my AC. Brutal in the DC summer heat.
