I am posting this review quite reluctantly,but Yelp has helped me avoid so many scammers and flakey people and businesses that I feel a huge obligation to pay forward all the good and bad in kind.
Green planet was contracted to replace the sewer main on my home recently. This was part of Bellevue city's homeowner improvement program, so the contractor choice had to meet very strict guidelines. Green planet was not on even on their list, but they indulged us on our heavy recommendation for Tyler's business. Like most of his burned and deceived customers, we fell for his BS sales pitch and empty promises. Taking Tyler at his word, our only wish was them to leave our back yard and fence the same way they found it. Tyler assured us that this was the easiest request we could make and that he guaranteed it.
From the very start, the work appeared uncoordinated and as if it was the first time they ever did it. They appeared lost and confused many times, making mistakes along the way that caused many delays and took over twice the time. Then, the job was halted by a city inspector over a simple code issue involving a common fitting needed to connect to the sewer main. To top it off, Tyler complained to me about the ""f***ing city"" being picky. The cherry on top was Tyler confiding in me that he ""way"" under bid the job. His was the second highest out of 6 other bids!
So, after about a week of this one day job and a couple of my borrowed tools returned to me in damaged condition, it was time for them to go. They left my yard looking like a battle scene. The fence now needs repairs and I have a sinkhole in my yard giving my dog a chance to escape into an alleyway. It's been 5 months now and just yesterday a worker shows up, unannounced and expecting us to drop everything and once again allow them the chance to disappoint. True to form, a genuine but far inferior attempt was made and my yard is a muddy mess and my fence is far from adequately returned to as it was. With 4 months worth of all but completely ignored (by Tyler) phone calls, I give up. Tyler has to be the most belligerent, self destructive person in the customer service business. He makes no effort to hide his contempt of customers once he gets paid. If you want a couple of messy, inept guys ruining your most prized possessions and doing everything their way, regardless what you want, then go ahead and hire this poser. Oh yeah,Tyler likes to be rude to my wife and attempted to bully me during his one returned phone call. Seems he gets everything wrong, but in his mind, it's always your fault.
AVOID at all costs or it will really cost you $$$.

Scheduling our sewer scope was easy and fast. Arrow was on time and did a great job - provided a summary and a DVD of the scope. He talked me through options and next steps in a clear, helpful way. He was tidy and cleaned up and was wrapped up in about 90 min.

These guys are amazing. We had been struggling with water heater issues for months, trying to figure out what was wrong with our system causing temperature fluctuations when it finally just STOPPED producing hot water altogether (tepid or downright cold, alternating), smack in the middle of winter!

We had also been dealing with terrible pipe rattling in the laundry room where the water heater is, right next to a bedroom, so that wasn't pleasant either.

Called Green Planet Plumbing to come and assess the issue. Justin was very pleasant and easy to work with and when it seemed we were still having some issues after the initial fix, Jeremiah and Justin both worked to get back to us ASAP for another look.

Not only did they completely fix the issue (which had other underlying causes we hadn't noticed before), but they also discovered and repaired a leak we had no idea was even there! Will definitely be calling them for any future work. Justin was great and highly recommended. Prices were more than reasonable for all the great work they do too!

This is my first online review...ever. I am so happy to have found Green Planet Plumbing and Marcus. We had two plumbing companies come out before Marcus and Green Planet, and were charged A LOT of money for misdiagnosed problems and "" we really don't care"" attitudes. Marcus and Green Planet DOES CARE. He was committed to finding the problems AND solutions, charged us very reasonable fees, was friendly and professional and a pleasure to work with. We won't go anywhere else from now on. In addition, Jeremiah in the office responded to our requests for service in a timely fashion, sent us reminders and updates, and was all around very communicative and helpful as well. Job was supposed to take 3 days but it wound-up taking 2 weeks. Although there were some minor setbacks, there were too many days when nobody was here working, or someone was only here for a few hours. Including the delays the job was done according to Tyler.

One month later see photos:
Tyler, This is what has happened as a result of not filling in the dirt properly. Also you can clearly see that the seeding barely grew.
I am hoping that you will fix this as it was created by your Company digging it all out. The entire area was flat and grassy before any work was done. You even commented to Richard that you were sorry about how the lawn was damaged from the equipment.

OK,
Its been 5 months now and a worker just shows up here without prior notice. We've been promised this for many weeks, but this drop in stuff is very unprofessional. I guess he knew we were past the point of being patient, so he was no longer acting civil or even making eye contact when spoken to. I once again explained exactly how the fence and grounds were promised to be when the job was bid by Tyler. He just mumbled something at me and proceeded to do it his way despite the efforts of myself and my very ill husband to provide simple details to him. I can't express in words how frustrating this project has been. Like most people, we have lives to lead and expect highly paid and self promoted professionals to do as they promise and as we, the ones who write the check, need them to do the job they commit to in writing. With a very active dog who can't use our back yard for 3 months because these guys can't make a phone call or commitment to fill a dirt hole or sink a fence post properly is absurd.
Do you really want your next plumbing emergency repair (or anything) promised to take a certain time, stretched out for 5 or more months? Or, when it goes badly, do want your desperate emails and calls to go ignored for week after week after week....?

We were able to have Green Planet come out late in the day, after our guy, Marcus, had already been working long hours and driving in traffic to get to our house. He assessed the blockage in our main line, verified how to best attack it. He did a fantastic job not leaving our house dirty, always communicating what he was doing and making sure we knew hydrojetting would be loud. Honest, polite, dedicated, I'd use Green Planet again without hesitation. Marcus is the genuine type of person I'd happily go have a beer with. Nice guy, hard working, honest, no BS.

We chose Green Planet as they were the first available to come out. Others were a 3-5 business days out. WIth plumbing issues, it's nice to have someone come next day!

Marcus is quite knowledgeable and explains things in lamens terms. He was honest and, as others have mentioned, he provided us with tips and tricks for water/plumbing for future use! I also really appreciated that he let us do some of the manual labor (excavating out landscaping where the pipe had burst) instead of charging us to do it.

They charge $69 for the estimate and that goes to your total bill. Unlike other plumbing companies they charge by the project, not by the hour. In some cases this is good (i.e. If the service work goes on way longer than you expect, you're not out more than what they quoted) but in others it's bad (how do I know that the project price is legitimate). In our case we had about a 2 hour job and the project price seemed 25% higher than what I'd expect. However, Green Planet was negotiable and provided me with a new rate.

All in all, we feel confident our problem was fixed. Thanks Green Planet for your prompt service, honesty, and tips!

Great company. Very fast fix. A toilet in our home was spraying water from a hose EVERYWHERE, and they had someone out to us in 20 minutes(where as other places were giving me a 6-hour time frame). I'm so grateful they could fix the issue before permanent damage was done. Thank you!
