We have used Green Leaf for both backflow device testing and sprinkler maintenance and repair over the last several years. They are responsive, professional, and reasonably priced. We will continue to go back whenever we need work done as they are so great to work with.

I have to tell anyone in Portland, if you want and need a partner in your irrigation system, this is your company. They know how to do it all, whether it's surveying and installing a new system, or maintaining and repairing your old one. We have a very old system, and they have been fantastic partners in updating, maintaining and optimizing our system, without fail. They show up on time, with expert staff, and they let you know when they need extra parts, and what that means in terms of time. This company has solved so many problems for us, and has done so with the utmost level of professionalism. If you have an irrigation system, and want to install a new one... these are your people. And if you have an existing system that needs repairs? These are your people. I can't offer a higher recommendation.

I am in the NE Portland area. Recently hired Green Leaf for some irrigation system maintenance and fix-up. Not a massive piece of work but they had to fix my control panel wiring, change a few sprinklers, replace tubing. They did very good work. They also were very diligent, good communicators; they also came back for small follow ups within the promised time frame and at no added cost. Curt was a pleasure to work with.

They don't charge you for the initial visit to plan the work, and overall price was very competitive, a little below my expectations after taking with other companies (even below their initial quote, which speaks highly of their values and honesty).

I will call them to service my irrigation system every year.

Working with this company (two guys) was the worst.

They were very unreliable, overcharge and were painful to work with.

Curt (co-owner) is very unprofessional and lacks communication skills. He'll commit to begin work on a certain day, will no-show and when you're finally able to get ahold of him to re-schedule, expect amusing excuses. Then, he'll show up unannounced and leave without notice (while you're home). Bizarre.

Steve (co-owner) on the other hand is personable and helpful. He just needs to lose his partner and will be far more successful.

They charge a premium, but lack the expertise or service to warrant their prices.

Good luck with any follow up after they've been paid.

Also, expect to be billed for things that were never discussed.

Green Leaf added a valve/zone to our irrigation system and laid 1.5 units of hemlock mulch in our front and back yards.
They arrived on time and worked until the job was completed; about 5 hours.
They had to dig in our paths to add the new zone and when complete the paths were as they were before the digging.
They cleaned up after themselves and were courteous.
The price was reasonable and the final price was what was estimated even though they had to use more material than anticipated.
We would use them again and would recommend them.

Green Leaf Irrigation & Landscape for the save! After hiring and then firing another company in the midst of installation of our sprinkler system, Curt and his crew from Green Leaf swooped in, took over and really helped us out in the mess we had found ouselves in. What a difference it made hiring Green Leaf! I kick myself for not calling them first! I seriously cannot speak highly enough about the quality of work, communication from Curt and his crew and how at ease Green Leaf made us feel (given the sprinkler hell we had found ourselves in) throughout installation. I highly recommend Green Leaf and look forward to working with them again!

Terrible, terrible customer service. They Don't accept phone calls, and even after I made an appointment via email to do irrigation work on a certain day, they never contacted me as to the estimated time of day they might arrive. So I took time off from work and waited: 8 am, 10, 12, 2, tried three times to reach him... email, phone, and text... no response to ant of my contact attempts. I ran out finally to do errands and at 3 get a call from a worker who struggled to understand English but said he was waiting at my house and would wait for me to return while on the clock...(wait for me at 85 an hour I don't think so! )
He didn't know what he was supposed to do.. or what the work was. Just to fix the sprinkler , he said. He said he was told to show up sometime in the day and do what I instructed him to... when I asked way I didn't get a call he said basically "" The boss is busy "" so I told him to just please leave.

I will never call this place again! Worst customer service ever. I think it's the kind of contractor who , when things get busy, doesn't care about the customer, and those are the type I like to avoid.

Been using this company since 2009 and they have done an awesome job on my yard. Curt and the guys have gone way above and beyond over the years... They've done everything from installing a sprinkler system to building a fence-- once they even got up on our roof and cleaned our gutters though it was outside the normal scope of what they do. They've always gone out of their way to make sure our yard is a lush oasis where it's a pleasure to spend time. They charge a fair price and do a great job.

I would like to give this company a 5 star recommendation, but also a 1 star recommendation.

Here's the 5 star:

We needed the south side of our yard re-graded so rain would flow away from the house. They did an excellent job at a reasonable price!! I truly appreciate that they were willing to do this size of job without trying to convince me to do a huge landscape project. The guys who did the work were great. The work was scheduled and done in a very timely manner. I will definitely use them again this spring when I need more work done. So in regards to the actual work done 5 Stars!!

Here's the one star:

I got an email saying they would call me at the beginning of the week. That time passed with no phone call, and I had to call them. The response after that was great! Work scheduled and done on time. But the contractor was supposed to come over on the afternoon of the day the work was done, or ""maybe the day after,"" and he never showed up. So I waited around a lot. The next day I put the invoice and check in the mail, and sent them an email. I later got a call from the office, asking if the contractor had shown up. I said ""No."" but that it was ok, because I was happy with the work. I then immediately got a call from the contractor, who quickly came by, reviewed the work. etc. So I did get responses, just not in the times that were set up.

The bottom line is that there seems to be some kind of disconnect between the contractors and dispatchers and their whole communication system. I really really hope they figure it out. I liked them a lot. My yard looks great.
