Installation was fast and price was good but they left our condensate pump unplugged which caused a water leak in the basement that I am still trying to clean up today.

Great company - great people! Tim and Austin installed a gas line for us. They did a flawless installation. They also took the time to clean up after and ensure that all of the connections were safe and secure. We appreciated their professionalism. Highly recommend GNWI. Thanks again!

We received FANTASTIC service from Great NW Installations. We had them upgrade our old water heater to a new hybrid electric/heat pump model. Scheduling the service was easy.

The water heater technician Tim was incredibly skillful, knowledgeable, and professional. He got our input on where to put the new water heater, then did an incredible job with the plumbing. He added some additional piping to both our hot and cold water so we could have the new heater in an ideal spot, right next to the furnace. Tim also did an amazing job piping the condensation line into the existing condensation pump next to the furnace.

Our home has galvanized plumbing from the 1930s, and Tim told us that we might lose some water pressure when he installed the new water heater because filling the tank creates an opportunity for air to go into the pipes and for sediment to shift. But Tim did a very careful job installing the heater, and releasing all of the air from the system, and we actually have BETTER water pressure now! (Which of course couldn't be guaranteed, but it would have been totally impossible without Tim's skillful work).

After installing the water heater, Tim walked us through the new water heater features and helped us learn what to expect in terms of noise, performance, etc. He was patient with our questions and gave us a great idea of what to expect. The water heater is working great and we could not be happier, thank you for such amazing service!

We have had GNI install 2 water heaters in the past couple of months, both ordered through Lowes. The installer Tim did a great job in both. He is a can-do person who resolves complicating issues in a cheerful, positive manner. The company management provides good communication about schedules and alerts about any delays.

We used them based on their water heater promo to install a hybrid water heater in our basement. Communication we very good throughout the process with Allen, the sales rep.
This was especially true as they had to come multiple times due to issues with the electrical connection and grounding as well as a dysfunctional heatpump in the first unit they installed.
Tim, who was the person on site, did a great job of tirelessly coming back and addressing all these in a professional manner.
Last but not least, they did all that as part of their original installation price.
Would highly recommend.

There is a longer story, but the short version? Great Northwest Installations is fantastic! They installed a new, super-efficient Heat Pump water heater in the cellar of our 1928 house, for $2000 LESS than the written Home Depot quote. Yes, that included the expansion tank. Yes, that included the permit fee. I did a lot of research. It's an old house so it can be tricky. And Great Northwest Installations did exceptional work. But to them, it seems like this isn't a big deal? it's just the way they always do business. They show a super price on line. Believe it! My price was higher (completely reasonable for this house) because a) expansion tank $179 and b) it took 2 guys to wrangle it down the cellar ladder, and then align it, so we can easily clean the filter ($300).

Here is the long story: Our electric hot water heater was 15 years old. It started giving us warm water, not hot, so we knew it was on its last legs. A replacement from Home Depot (just the water heater) was about $375. Ok. However, the newer technology Heat Pump hot water heater -also from Home Depot- had a rebate from Energy Trust of Oregon, so it was ""only"" $700, just for the ""hybrid"" or ""heat pump"" water heater. Here is the good news: A hybrid water heater would save us about $300 per year in electricity! (No kidding.)

I did a lot of research, and the technology really isn't that new? The heat pump/hybrid technology has been around, and truly, it's proven to be better, if you have the right kind of space: it's bigger than an old-style electric water heater, it needs some air circulation, and drainage, and you can hear the pump working so it's better in a basement, etc.

So I called Home Depot to find out about installation. Their phone estimate, including the permit and installation, was $2067. Wow. But over 10 to 15 years? Maybe still ok. And I thought maybe he was aiming high because it's an old house? But I do not like surprises. So I asked for a real ""bid"" which required an in-person visit. After that visit, Home Depot provided me with a written quote/bid/estimate. (The guy said he had worked for HD for several years...) After seeing the location, then their documented price, installation, water heater, permit, etc., was $3311. Seriously? Their phone estimate was off by thirteen hundred dollars? WOW. I feel really badly for anyone who hires HD to replace a water heater in an emergency. Let me say this again: HD's written bid to install a hybrid/heat pump hot water heater was $3311.
Great Northwest Installations did the work for $1300.

My only motivation for writing this review is to save people from being taken advantage of, by HD's ridiculous pricing.

The guys from Great NW Installations, Tim and George, were excellent. Courteous, prompt, great communicators, and their work is solid. (Prima was fantastic on the phone, too!) They all know what they are doing, and it shows. I highly recommend Great Northwest Installations, and I think you should trust them too.

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR GAS LINE WORK

A simple process of connecting a fire feature to an existing underground natural gas line involved multiple visits to do/re-do connections/adjust obvious incorrect connectors (preventing the fire pit from operating)

After the 'final' attempt to get it right the owner/Tech (Tim - who did all of the work himself) mentioned he 'hoped' the gas line whistle would go away.

After they left for the last time we attempted to use the fire feature but the gas line whistle was so obvious we didn't feel safe or comfortable using the device.

I contacted the company to confirm they used 'whistle free ' gas lines as required by the fire feature manufacturer

The office person was very nice AND apologetic for not getting an answer for this VERY simple question

After several days and multiple contacts with the company we NEVER got an answer to this simple question

Clearly they had done all they knew how to do and we were never going to get the work done correctly by Northwest.

Disappointing and annoying - yet they had no problem charging us $404 for a failed and unsatisfactory connection.

We ended up having the manufacturer come out to resolve the whistle and insure the safety of the fire pit.

Not sure which is more annoying:

The poor/inefficient work of the firm or

Being ignored and never getting a response to a straightforward question regarding the safety of my family

Be very wary when considering this company for this type of work

Met with them to discuss converting our natural gas water heater to a heat pump and installation of a recirculator. Great meeting, but have not heard back from them for a quote. They are not returning voicemails or emails.

Suggest looking elsewhere.

Extraordinary customer service. We hired them through Lowe's to install a new hot water heater. When they learned we had no hot water, they agreed to come the same day. The technician came on time, explained what he would do, did it, and showed us what he did. Outstanding communication every step of the way.

One of the easiest-to-deal with vendors I've used for my home renovations. Great communication, excellent service, very fair prices, and personable technicians. I warmly recommend this company to anyone, and would use them again in a heartbeat.
