Steer clear... they use old-school high-pressure sales tactics and try to sell you things that you don't need. After having a technician out, he would not even give me a quote unless I had a 2nd meeting with the Sales Manager, and he tried to tell me I needed to upgrade my 9-year-old furnace, etc. Nice try! The sales manager called me and went round and round with me about why he personally needed to come to my home to look at my A/C condenser in person to get measurements... when his tech was already there for 2 hours doing that! BS. You give the service industry and salespeople a bad name! I called another company, and they came out right away, gave me a price on the spot, and had my issue fixed within a day.

What an amazing experience we've had with Grapids! From start to finish the process was wonderful. Todd came out within hours of calling to get a quote to upgrade our furnace and add AC to our home. Our furnace was over 20 years old functioning but a bit of a head scratcher. Additionally we needed to upgrade our electrical panel. Grapids was able to subcontract that for us too. Tyler and Eric came out the very next day (bright and early) and spent the day reconstruction our HVAC system. Prior to their arrival we decided to add a humidifier to the unit. The office was seemlessly able to add that to our work order. Todd swang back out to check in on the progress and make sure we were happy. Throughout the day several members of Grapid came through to bring supplies and check in. The stars of the show were definitely Tyler and Eric who worked until after 7pm to complete the HVAC job. They worked well together and I could overhear them as I graded papers upstairs. They treated each other with respect and humor. It was so refreshing to have work done in our home by such wonderful people. They even took the time to FaceTime with my husband who was at work to show the final product and answer all of his questions. Without hesitation I will recommend Grapids (specifically Todd, Tyler and Eric) to anyone!

I came back to add we had quotes from three different companies and Grapid was under the others AND included upgrading our electrical panel with one of their subcontractors.

My mom wanted quotes for a new air conditioner so she had Shafsma over for an estimate. She also called Grapids. The next thing I knew we were getting a new furnace and air conditioner. I am not impressed with the new furnace at all, but was willing to live with it. I did have a question about humidifiers attached to the furnace, so I called and spoke to the receptionist. I told her we had just purchased a furnace and air conditioner from them and I wanted to ask about why my mom was told we couldn't add a humidifier to the new furnace. I was very specific about calling me, not my 89 year old mother and gave my cell phone number. I have not heard a word. It's been three weeks. I'm actually relieved now that Grapids hasn't called back because I want Shafsma or Jacobson's to take a look at the new furnace. A warning flag to me is the vague website that doesn't really say anything about the brands of furnaces they carry.

We have used Grapids for many years now. We own 4 rental properties plus our home and my in-law's home. They have put furnaces, boilers and AC units in all over the last 8 years. I had always been satisfied with the service. Two days before Thanksgiving the furnace went out in one of the rental homes. This was placed in 2018 by Grapids. I called and spoke with the on-call person who did have a technician call me back. It was at this point that I was informed that due to insurance changes Grapids no longer services rental units. I was given a number for a different local company to call this company never returned my call. I found this extremely disappointing and honestly it does not make any sense. Why would Grapids be willing to install new equipment in homes they have no plan on servicing in the future. why would they sell extended warranties or service plans? They have certainly lost our business and if you have a rental property or are even considering renting your own home in the future, I certainly would not use them.

Recently noticed a puddle of water on the basement floor next to the Furnace/Water Heater..
Called GRapids Heating and they came over the next day to inspect the Furnace.
To our shock, the system was 31 years old (new home owners) and it wasn't worth 'fixing' it at this age (our decision).
Our GRapids Service guy gave us estimates on a new Furnace & AC unit, explained the warranty, the installation process and what to expect. Gave us all the details, answered all my questions (I ask a lot of them) and was very easy to talk too.
After we decided to move forward, the install was after the weekend, took about 7 hours but we had an electrical issue they took care of as well.
The install was done efficiently, smooth removal of the old system and once done, the installer walked us through everything.
With the install, the City had to come inspect and approve the work.
The 2 City Inspectors were impressed with the work done and also said very nice things about the company as they approved the installation!
Definitely worth calling if you need any kind of Heating & Cooling service!

Do not waste your time on these folks.

Their strategy is to get to you first, scare you with absurdly high prices, and then say, ""we've got a gap in our schedule tomorrow, if you can help us fill in this slot, we can help you out with a big discount""

That big discount will get you to a price that is still 5k higher than the next guys starting bid, but you won't ever get to see that guys bid because you've already got your problem solved, so you stop looking.

Half way through the 3 hour quote process, I thought to myself, ""I really don't want to have to do this three more times"" and shortly after they left I realized that was their whole idea. They will seem friendly, but they are only looking to suck your time, and if you let them, your wallet.

This seems to be a very consistent review just like the others. Our central AC broke 2 days ago and they came and gave us an estimate for 10 600$ to replace it, and about 3-4K to repair it. Again, they did not send us the quote on paper but rather had someone else run those numbers for me over the phone. My house is only 2600sqft. So I called 2 other places and both places quoted me about 4K to replace the AC central unit. I'd stay away from this business unless you want to pay more than double.

Asked for a quote for a replacement AC system. They responded quickly and after the dog & pony show presented a quote for $9,400. The quote person never gave the quote in writing but said it would be emailed.
Received another quote from another company and it was for $4,300 for a higher rated system. Bottom line is to always get multiple quotes!

I have waited long enough to write this 'Poor' review. They oversold and under delivered. Their customer service is non existent. I have called, explained why I needed to speak to a manager or senior service rep each time and no return contact is made. I may not know enough about HVAC companies to recommend, but I know enough about GRapids to NOT recommend.

Called asking them to sell me an Inducer motor and they said sorry we carry them but don't sell them Over the counter. Fine, I set up to have them do their diagnostics knowing they will determine the same course of action as I have (obviously the motor) and this is exactly what happened. I even told the guy ""yeah I looked these motors up online, new, used, or aftermarket you're looking at 85-150$ but it's worth it to me to pay reasonable labor costs and you have them in stock so I'm not freezing the next few days (it's December so it's cold and shipping probably a nightmare). He says yeah lemme get you a quote comes back saying 1430$... Then sent me to the sales team to see if ""since 1430 is a lot maybe a little more will get you a new ac or furnace"" turns out a little more is 10000-20000 for a new furnace installed. I am waiting for the parts to ship and the uninstall took 10 mins. Reinstall will prob be 20-30 mins. Even at an outrageous estimate of 100$/hr for the labor and being generous saying it'll take 2 hours and doubling it for overhead etc that should look something like 500-600 with equipment... Bottom line, called to try to buy the equipment I needed, wasted hours of my life on a greedy joke that I tried to avoid in the first place by simply asking for an available in stock motor.....
