Gregory J.Would not recommend. They say they will call and reach out and they do not. They do not share information about their products until after install, it was a terrible experience from beginning to end. After all was said and done they charged me over a 500% markup on a hot water heater purchased from Lowes and then added labor on top of it with no added value. They took 2 days to install it after saying it would take 2 to 3 hours and didn't do it correctly. Then only reached out when when it came to getting paid.
First time customer. Horrible experience. Rescheduled 3 times. Told I would get free service, then tech says $230. Very bad communication. I spoke to them 5 times trough out to confirm what was needed and what was included. They sent someone to service the water heater not the boiler. Called when he was here to straighten it all out and was assured and apologized too for the lack of communication to find his manager told him to charge for an included item anyway. Kid was nice but we sent them on their way. What an unprofessional mess!!
This company is a joke. We had them come to do a yearly checkup on our furnace. We were not/nor have we had any issues, just wanted their ""tune up"" they proceeded to fill out a very long report on everything that was wrong with our furnace. Next day their sakes girl comes, gives us her pitch and when we said we want another opinion, she became VERY pushy. We had another company come out the following week....big surprise...nothing wrong with the furnace AND Grapids never did the tune up!!!!! We'd like our money back, but I doubt that will ever happen
Bob G.AC stopped working the night before Labor Day on the A/C unit I purchased from them 2 months ago. Called them at 9:19am Labor day morning, A technician arrived (Kyle) and had it fixed and running by 10:30 THAT MORNING! On a holiday! NO charge warranty work, replaced a bad fuse, house was cool before 11:30. As good as customer service gets.
Had a technician to work on my furnace very thorough and detailed. Great experience.
Steer clear... they use old-school high-pressure sales tactics and try to sell you things that you don't need. After having a technician out, he would not even give me a quote unless I had a 2nd meeting with the Sales Manager, and he tried to tell me I needed to upgrade my 9-year-old furnace, etc. Nice try! The sales manager called me and went round and round with me about why he personally needed to come to my home to look at my A/C condenser in person to get measurements... when his tech was already there for 2 hours doing that! BS. You give the service industry and salespeople a bad name! I called another company, and they came out right away, gave me a price on the spot, and had my issue fixed within a day.
Lee P.What an amazing experience we've had with Grapids! From start to finish the process was wonderful. Todd came out within hours of calling to get a quote to upgrade our furnace and add AC to our home. Our furnace was over 20 years old functioning but a bit of a head scratcher. Additionally we needed to upgrade our electrical panel. Grapids was able to subcontract that for us too. Tyler and Eric came out the very next day (bright and early) and spent the day reconstruction our HVAC system. Prior to their arrival we decided to add a humidifier to the unit. The office was seemlessly able to add that to our work order. Todd swang back out to check in on the progress and make sure we were happy. Throughout the day several members of Grapid came through to bring supplies and check in. The stars of the show were definitely Tyler and Eric who worked until after 7pm to complete the HVAC job. They worked well together and I could overhear them as I graded papers upstairs. They treated each other with respect and humor. It was so refreshing to have work done in our home by such wonderful people. They even took the time to FaceTime with my husband who was at work to show the final product and answer all of his questions. Without hesitation I will recommend Grapids (specifically Todd, Tyler and Eric) to anyone!
I came back to add we had quotes from three different companies and Grapid was under the others AND included upgrading our electrical panel with one of their subcontractors.
My mom wanted quotes for a new air conditioner so she had Shafsma over for an estimate. She also called Grapids. The next thing I knew we were getting a new furnace and air conditioner. I am not impressed with the new furnace at all, but was willing to live with it. I did have a question about humidifiers attached to the furnace, so I called and spoke to the receptionist. I told her we had just purchased a furnace and air conditioner from them and I wanted to ask about why my mom was told we couldn't add a humidifier to the new furnace. I was very specific about calling me, not my 89 year old mother and gave my cell phone number. I have not heard a word. It's been three weeks. I'm actually relieved now that Grapids hasn't called back because I want Shafsma or Jacobson's to take a look at the new furnace. A warning flag to me is the vague website that doesn't really say anything about the brands of furnaces they carry.
We have used Grapids for many years now. We own 4 rental properties plus our home and my in-law's home. They have put furnaces, boilers and AC units in all over the last 8 years. I had always been satisfied with the service. Two days before Thanksgiving the furnace went out in one of the rental homes. This was placed in 2018 by Grapids. I called and spoke with the on-call person who did have a technician call me back. It was at this point that I was informed that due to insurance changes Grapids no longer services rental units. I was given a number for a different local company to call this company never returned my call. I found this extremely disappointing and honestly it does not make any sense. Why would Grapids be willing to install new equipment in homes they have no plan on servicing in the future. why would they sell extended warranties or service plans? They have certainly lost our business and if you have a rental property or are even considering renting your own home in the future, I certainly would not use them.
OHara B.Recently noticed a puddle of water on the basement floor next to the Furnace/Water Heater..
Called GRapids Heating and they came over the next day to inspect the Furnace.
To our shock, the system was 31 years old (new home owners) and it wasn't worth 'fixing' it at this age (our decision).
Our GRapids Service guy gave us estimates on a new Furnace & AC unit, explained the warranty, the installation process and what to expect. Gave us all the details, answered all my questions (I ask a lot of them) and was very easy to talk too.
After we decided to move forward, the install was after the weekend, took about 7 hours but we had an electrical issue they took care of as well.
The install was done efficiently, smooth removal of the old system and once done, the installer walked us through everything.
With the install, the City had to come inspect and approve the work.
The 2 City Inspectors were impressed with the work done and also said very nice things about the company as they approved the installation!
Definitely worth calling if you need any kind of Heating & Cooling service!
