They pay $9 for a a capacitor and charge you $118, they buy a furnace and accessories for about 1,600 and charge you $5500 - 6500, then they are pushy to replace your unit if it is 10 + years old. I would highly recommend running from this company. The nexstar certified company they are nexstar is training for being a better salesman and talking to your clients. Most companies out there are half the price of the units and half the price of parts

Great family owned local company. Our water heater started leaking and Travis came out the same day. He got a new one installed for us the very next day. Very professional. Great prices. Easy to work with. No high pressure to get extras.

My heat went out in New Year's Eve. My father and I did everything we could possibly do to fix it on our own with no luck. After calling Grapids, within 2 hours they had a tech to our house. The fee was only $49 to get a diagnosis. Rich was professional, personable and very knowledgeable. He gave us temporary heat until the parts he needed came in, within 3 days we were back to normal. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 simply because 1. The company tries to up-sell you on everything under the sun. I could tell the tech felt mildly uncomfortable doing it, but it was clearly required and 2. The repair cost an outrageous amount. While no heating/cooling repair is cheap, I find $800 for a part that cost $225 retail and took a whole hour to put in pretty high. I'd give Rich 5 stars, Grapids heating 2.5, so we'll call it 4.

Would not recommend and I repeat not to ever call them for service because it is a wasted call! I actually had a tune up that I purchased through Groupon and because of the terribly poor service I received I will more than likely never trust Groupon either. I had a service man come to my home yesterday morning at 8 a.m. on time. That was the only thing that impressed me but after further review I can see how they are able to do so because they charge you and don't do a damn thing which makes it easy to have breakfast and on to the next victim. When I set the appointment a week ago I was told that they would be able to repair my duct work in a crawl space area but it would be extra and what their hourly rate is. Not a problem! When the gentleman arrived in his new white shirt didn't look to me like he was fit nor prepared to crawl beneath my home. Also mind you, I am going to work late on this day because I am prepared to be home an hour or 2. This meant cancelling an appointment with a client and scheduling another closer to my closing time at work and kept me at work after hours to close my month. The gentleman told me immediately that he could not go under the house so they'd have to send someone else out for that. He looked at my furnace next and told me it was old. Tell me something I don't know better yet reattach my duct work I asked for. I told him if he can't do what I called in for it is a waste of my and his time. He then said he'd just look at the air conditioning and in less than 10 minutes he came back in saying it works but it's older too so, again please tell me something I don't know. So he did, told me he called his boss and was told they've completed what they were contracted to do and they don't go under manufactured homes I would need to contact a different heating and cooling company for that. Are you freakin' serious is all I could think. But I told him in the calmest way I possibly could thanks for wasting my more and the start of a great day! Needless to say this story is being repeated to ever customer of mine that I come in contact with so do yourself a favor and beware. Have a great day and a wonderful weekend. I will also let you all know of a good place to go as soon as I schedule to have it done and the service is complete.

Twice they've really disappointed us. At best it's poor service, but we felt scammed the second time.
First we had 3 companies bid everything for changing HVAC, water heater, etc. from propane to natural gas. GRapids had terrible customer service (he admitted a week later forgot our bid completely, then was slow after he ""remembered"" afterI called. Even then, it excluded the bid for the water heater and STILL was $3000+ more than the other 2 companies).
Second, when our water heater died right before the natural gas switchover, they came & were shady, here for a super long time just to quote us, and then were 40% more than 2 other quotes we had. Plus, the 2 sales reps contradicted one another when they tried to explain why it was so horribly high priced. One said our ""plumbing wasn't up to code"" & they needed to charge more to fix that. When we asked how much it would be if it were up to code they ""couldn't answer"" that. The second rep said it wasn't more because of that. We asked why none of the 3 companies (including them) who were to our home within the past 6 weeks to bid that job ever mentioned our plumbing wasn't up to code....no answer for that either. And one rep asked, ""Do you want me to look at your furnace while we are here? With its age, I can almost guarantee your heat exchanger is cracked."" Uh, no. We are replacing it in a couple months when natural gas comes to our street.....and you already bid us for that.... and it's still working....and you were thousands higher than 2 other highly reputable companies for the same job. After nearly 2 hours, we sent them away, paying $87 to confirm we'll not be using them for anything.
The plumber who fixed our issue the next day (without a peep about pipes not being up to code, even when I asked if there were any issues or surprises at all) charged us $400 less than they wanted just for a water heater.

One star based on the fact that they provide an important service. Lack of any other stars because their customer service is terrible. I had them come to my house once for a service I was unsatisfied with, then continued to receive communications by mail and phone advertising their services. I have now called at least three times to ask to be removed from their mailing list and they seem unable to perform this simple task. Frustrated with their lack of responsiveness over the course of several months in addition to the initial bad experience with the service call.

Called and got same day service which was important to us as we had thought we had smelled gas from the furnace exhaust. Turns out it was normal residual fumes but Erik the tech checked out the entire unit to make sure it was working to specs. I appreciate that he didn't engage in high pressure tactics to up sell services and repairs we didn't need.

First time customer and will not be returning. Brad had only been working here a month when he came in for my service tune up. Tried selling me everything under the sun including $45 furnace filters?! Do you think I'm stupid? I can get filters from the condo association I live in for $10! Quotes for options came in over $1,000+ from a guy that didn't know how to use his company ipad. Had something actually been not working properly I may have thought differently but a seasonal ""tune up"" shouldn't warrant the things he was trying to sell. Sent him on his merry way and suggest you go elsewhere too!

I scheduled a furnace inspection. They were prompt, on time and very courteous. The technician, Eric, however, shut the furnace off after finding serious and potentially dangerous issues with the heat exchanger. He made sure I understood and saw the warn parts. I needed a furnace immediately since it was December and very cold. They could not install one the same day so they put me on a priority basis, dropped off three space heaters in less than an hour to keep us warm and showed up promptly the next day, on time, with a new furnace. Angus, the installer, had the unit running and tested in (5) hours. He left the area very clean and took time to explain what he did and how things worked. Amazing service and customer care.

At the beginning of the summer we learned that we would need a new furnace and air conditioner. We were taken back by the cost this would incur, so we decided to get as many estimates as we could and really research financing options. Not needing heat right away and the cool summer was in our favor! Grapids was called early in our decision making and they were so professional and thorough. They even fixed a water leak that was suppose to be fixed by a previous company. When they left we had been shown where the problems were and how they fixed them the best that they could until we decided what to do. They gave the options of just fixing the old furnace and what the cost would be for options on a new system. There was NO pressure to make an immediate decision. After more estimates and a days later we made an appointment with them to install but, about a week later we had to cancel since we still weren't quite sure how we would choose to finance. They were so kind, polite and understanding! This is important because the other heating and cooling providers wanted us to commit to them and one was downright rude and hostile, when we didn't choose them. (We never said we would choose them, it was just an estimate). Two weeks later we finally figured things out and called for them to install a new system. They had an unexpected opening the next day and the BEST part is, they gave a big discount for letting them install so quickly! The technicians worked for 12 straight hours! They were so nice and some of the parts they upgraded for us at no extra charge. The system has been working beautifully and is so quiet. The vent work is excellent and our basement looks amazing! We have one of the best systems, great vent work and it cost less than our lowest estimate.I cannot recommend this company enough. We are so thankful. A purchase like this is huge for anyone, but for us right now it was downright scary. It is reassuring that there are companies like grapids!
