If there's one thing I know nothing about, it's plumbing. I can unclog a drain and fix a toilet, but that's it. When I smelled gas in my house this summer, I knew something was wrong. The gas company came, determined I had a leak, and shut off my service. There I was, with neither hot water nor stove, betwixt cold showers and cold cuts. A first-world tragedy.

I'd been paying for Utility Shield coverage for years in the off-chance something went awry. After making my claim, I knew I was at the mercy of whomever they sent. Fortunately, it was Gordon Plumbing.

The initial plumber who responded spent three hours in my basement. Unfortunately, he was unable to fix this issue, as various leaks surfaced. He determined all my pipes needed replacing due to the age of the home. It was a job best suited for two men, which meant it would be two more days without gas. After what seemed an eternity, a two-man team from Gordon arrived exactly on time. The plumbers were incredibly knowledgable, professional, and frankly hilarious. They replaced my gas lines in less than three hours. They also determined whoever ran my gas lines (likely many, many years before I was born), created a complicated maze of piping. This increased the chances of a leak, but Gordon fixed that with my new system.

I would not hesitate to use Gordon Plumbing in another unfortunate circumstance.

We've used them for years in our home and at the office. Always do a great job. They've done a laundry list of plumbing needs from replacing valves in faucets, cleaning drains to adding a water filter system.

In the process of selling my home, it was discovered that a pipe that was installed before we bought our house, ran underneath my neighbors driveway and would require excavation to correct. While disappointed that we would be responsible for repairing the neighbors property we agreed to cover the repair as this situation is not my neighbors fault.

During the inspection, the pipe was approximated as to where it was located, but could not be verified at the time, due to my neighbors car causing interference with the equipment used to identify the exact spot of the line.

Days later, the crew arrived to begin work, and this is where we ran into problems. While I was quoted one size (which was roughly 5x10 feet ) for the section (they believed) was the location of the pipe, they guessed incorrectly.

They dug down approximately 7 feet and couldn't find the pipe, and it turns out they dug in the wrong spot. The hole went from 4x8 and ended up being closer to 11x11.

I let the crew finish the job, and when contacted about settling the balance, I expressed some disappointment that the crew didn't verify the pipe location before digging as the scope of the repairs has now increased because of their mistake. As the saying goes, ""measure twice, cut once"", at this point, the call was handed off to ""Mike (Terry?)"", who basically got on the phone and badgered me for saying I had agreed to pay for the work when the job was done (which I had), and that his crew didn't have a camera to verify the actual line placement on the day of the work ( so, apparently that's my fault). The disrespectful way in which he came on the phone to pressure me into paying the bill and assumed no responsibility was extremely disappointing.

I work in customer service for a living, and I have dealt with frustrated people over the years, and I can't recall having been so infuriated with the way I was treated. I will do everything I can to warn others about the response I received for being dissatisfied with the level of work that was done.

The crew that did the work on the pipe was nice, but made mistakes, the staff that was ultimately responsible for trying to find a compromise was a complete failure.

To provide perspective I have attached a picture of the first hole they dug (wrong spot, right size), and the final hole with the repaired pipe.

Excellent, very professional service! My daughter had an emergency with a severe leak in her condo. Pat from Gordon's got the information over the phone as to what was needed, showed up within the hour with all the necessary equipment and fixed the problem completely. If there was a sixth star I would've rated it so.

Very unprofessional. Refused to come to my neighborhood at 5pm in the afternoon because they said it was unsafe. My gas has been cut off for 3 days and I've just had major surgery. I can't cook, shower, or heat my home. They originally said they would be at my place in 20mins then called back and said 9am the next morning because my neighborhood was "" unsafe "" at 5pm in the afternoon???? When I called to make a complaint the dispatcher said I was irate ( which is a lie) and said they would not come at all. They basically didn't want to come to my neighborhood (aka black neighborhood after dark) at all anyway...I suggest not using this company at all. Racists and unprofessional and inconsiderate.

We had our master bathroom remodeled, and needed basic plumbing re-done in order to connect the new sinks/faucets. We also had some small issues in another bathroom. The plumber was on time, efficient and able to add our additional request. He was personable and very affordable. Would recommend.

Completely disappointed and let down by Gordon Plumbing. After Gordon performed a $7,000 fix exactly 1 year ago on our lift station, the entire system failed. We figured we'd had an alright experience with them and that they would know what might be wrong with the system so we called them.
The plumber sent not only disregarded any direction (rutting up the entire yard when we'd told him not to drive in that area), but also demanded $4000 to even diagnose the problem THAT THEY HAD FIXED A YEAR AGO! We called the office and the lady who answered the phone was even ruder!
I chalked it up to a fluke and got in touch with the manager Paul, who promised to try and figure out the situation, but after multiple phone calls seems to have just dropped the entire thing. We're not rude customers, and I believe in always giving management a chance to fix things, but this has been one of the most disappointing experiences imaginable.
The worst part is, we really had a positive opinion of the company going in, and they had to drop the ball in every way imaginable to ruin that.
The company doesn't stand by their work in any shape or form (won't even check a pump that they put in and purchased less than a year ago).

I called Gordon Plumbing since they were a vendor referred by AO Smith as a certified vendor. I was having a problem with my water heater not providing hot water. The tech came to my home and he had a great demeanor. He told me that I was not receiving hot water because there was lime build up. He said to fix the problem that I should install a water softener. Gordon does not sell water softener's so I called another company to purchase one. The informed me that installing a water softenter is not going to make hot water flow through out my home. This is a measure that needs to be taken after the water heater has been flushed out. This is more of a preventive measure, that it would not remove all the existing lime build up. I called Gordon Plumbing back to inform them of this. The young lady who answered the phone was the rudest customer service rep, I have even encountred. She told me she could send out another technician but I would be another service fee after I had already paid 140.00 with no resolution to the problem. She customer service rep agreed that he should have offered to drain the tank but he never did. I asked to speak with the manager several times, she said ""I heard you say that several times"". She never put a manger on the line, only told me that she had spoken with the manger and they could come back out and drain the water heater for another fee or cancel the appointment. I cancelled the appointment after being mistreated and spoken to in a disrespectful manner. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY PLUMBING NEEDS THEY WILL NOT SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM AND WILL BE RUDE TO YOU AS WELL AFTER YOU HAVE PAID THEM. BEWARE!!!! 2-15-18

Have been out to work on our toilets 3 times now. The first visit, we were told there was nothing wrong wrong and he left, the second visit he came in, did something (we didn't watch to see what, as we thought he was ""working"") and then he came out about 15 minutes later and said it was fixed only to have the issue reoccure the next day. The third time we called we were told it would be a day or two before they could come out, 3 days later he arrives and this time brings in a snake to actually clear our lines and then he informs us that the water pressure is too low and that is why we are having all these issues (remember this is after 3 visits we are told this). So we ask if he could adjust the pressure, and that's when we are told ""that would have to be a separate work order, that will have to be called in and we can come back out and do it"".

Unfortunately for us this same company is constantly being called by our employer, I just hope it's not something underhanded, but what ever the cause, it's us employees and our customers that are incinvienced. I just want to warn any honest companies out there away from this place.

Technician inspected our hot water tank and advised that we needed a new burner unit. Said it would be a ""couple hundred bucks"", or could replace the tank for ""1600"". While the tank is ten years old, the bladder, and tank in general is in good condition, so we opted for the burner. Tech returned a hour or so later, replaced the burner unit, and left me with a bill for $609.46. When I asked about the ""couple hundred buck"" quote he said, ""that hourly rate will get you"". Told me that I should call the office as he had no control over the bill.

I called and left a message for the owner, Jerry Gordon - he did not return the call. I sent an email to Jerry - he did not respond. I detailed this issue on the customer service survey that followed in the mail - no response. The burner element went out yesterday. I called their office today and said that the tank would need to be replaced - the burner has no warranty. I phoned two other plumbers, and while they agree that I needed a new tank, $600 for a element install is a rip off.
