I had need for a plumber on two occasions in March of 2012 I. First, I needed someone to 'fix' an undersink job that I tried to do myself. Second, a couple of weeks later, I needed BOTH of our water heaters replaced. I found Noel (Goodfellow Plumbing)through YELP. He had thirteen 5-star reviews, so I felt comfortable hiring him. I was not disappointed. He is knowledgeable, intelligent, courteous, informed, efficient, timely, communicative, and reasonably priced. You couldn't ask for more. I will certainly call him back the next time I need a plumber, and you should too!

We recently moved into a new home and had to replace our hot water heater. After much research, we decided to use GoodFellow Plumbing. Just as the reviews said, Noel was great. Very honest, knowledgeable and competitive pricing (the best price we found for the work we needed done). He was also extremely professional and courteous. I used Noel to rough in plumbing changes to a 1/2 bath and laundry room. We started after lunch and went on until past midnight--yes he stayed until the job was done... and he spent most of this time on his back with a mapp torch under my house. He did a nice professional job, worked cleanly, and with good humor the whole time, he even ordered pizza for both of us.

His rates are quite reasonable and he is a good guy (sorry fellow) as well as a good plumber. I will definitely use him again... hopefully he will trade in his girly Makita drill for a manly Dewalt one.

I found Noel on Yelp based on existing reviews. You're always skeptical when you see someone with so many positives. Can this guy be for real?

I can now speak from experience and Noel and GoodFellow Plumbing is the real deal - excellent knowledge, punctuality, follow through, ease of communication via phone or email, and importantly, a genuine bedside manner with his 'customer-patients.'

Although a minor plumbing job, a couple of curves surfaced that threatened a smooth fix. Being creative and resourceful, Noel immediately jumped into his truck for a trip to a local hardware store. No moaning and groaning on the way out.

So, here's the bottom line. If you want professional plumbing with a great attitude, good time management, and is affordably priced, then GoodFellow Plumbing is for you.

I found GoodFellow Plumbing after reading reviews on Yelp. I contacted Noel through email and he responded quickly. We set up an appointment for him to come and repair 3 toilets and a garbabge disposal. He called me before our appointment to review the garbage disposal problem and determined that it would need to be replaced. He showed up on time and with all the supplies he needed. Before he started any work he walked me through everything and told me approximately how much everything would cost. He was honest and very well priced. After changing the garbage disposal he discovered leaking pipes under the sink. Noel was once again honest and showed me the problem, explained what my options were and gave me a choice on expense. He was not able to fix the pipe right then as he had another scheduled appointment, but came back that evening and fixed the pipes. I was very impressed by his work ethic and highly recommend him. If you want your plumbing done right he is the guy to call.

Noel was recommended to us by a good friend who is a general contractor. We were looking for an honest and knowledgeable plumber to diagnose and repair our shower problems, and Noel fit the bill. My husband dealt directly with Noel, so these are his comments on his work:

* Thorough - During the intake call, he spent a generous amount of time getting the history of our problem so that he could have a full understanding of what was going and be prepared upon arrival. He gave us his best guess of what was going on over the phone based on the information (without seeing the problem in person), and it turned out to be the correct diagnosis.

* Courteous - Called to let us know that he was running a little late and arrived by the estimated time; removed shoes upon entering home.

* Knowledgeable, but didn't hesitate to use resources when faced with an unfamiliar (rare) problem to prevent unneeded damage.

GoodFellow Plumbing saved me over $1900!

I needed to install a new custom built vanity and the pre-made counter/sink at my rental property, so I called Mike Counsel Plumbing (MCP) and Plumbing Squad to give me an estimate. MCP gave me an outrage bid of $2,300 versus $400 bid from Plumbing Squad. After thinking it over, I decided to go with Plumbing Squad and read their reviews on Yelp. That was where I found GoodFellow from one of his customers who had bad experience with Plumbing Squad.

I called GoodFellow and talked to Noel, the plumber also the owner. He was very upbeat, upfront, and positive over the phone so I decided to schedule an appointment with him. He was very responsive with my voice mails coordinating the convenient schedule for me and my tenant.

He shown up on time, pleasant, and very polite and professional. Since my vanity was custom built and the counter/sink was ordered from Lowes, they don't really fit perfectly, so Noel did a lot of custom fitting. Noel did a wonderful job with loving and caring! The final bill came out to $360 including A) 4 hours of labor since a lot of cutting and fitting the sink and vanity B) dumping the old sink C) including P-trap and other miscellaneous parts, and D) warranty of his work. He tested everything to be sure no leaking before leaving.

Since I saved over $1900, I added $40.00 more for his tip.

I am very happy with his loving caring work, but the most important of all is his HONESTY! He tells you what he is going to do and he does what he told you. The price was so affordable, especially in this struggling economy. Now I found a life-time plumber who I know where to go when I have pluming problems!

UPDATE (11/8/10)
Noel did it again! He came by replacing the kitchen faucet with a brand new set and fixing the leaking toilet tank. All that work was just for $200.00 with love and care, and attention to detail.

UPDATE (11/15/10)
Noel replaced my 8+ years GE Reverse Osmosis Filtration System with the latest model (GXRM10GBL by GE). There was a defective part and he was patient to wait for me to get home from work. I got the new part and he would be able to fix at no time. He also gave me an hour of free labor due to the defective part which was not our faults. As usual, I examined the work and I always noticed the attention of detail of how parts neatly and cleanly glued together. For the 3rd time, I was very happy with his prompt courteous professional service as a very affordable price. I think I will use him for a long time!

UPDATE (4/15/14)
My tenant moved out, also my 13-year water heater in the basement was leaking water so I left a voice mail for Noel. With in an hour or so he called back and we had a discussion. I was thinking of replace the water heater with some GE brands at Home Depot. He made a good suggestion by going to plumber profession quality one and I agreed. He shown up the next day and replaced it at no time. Again, I have always reliable on Noel for plumbing need and someone I can trust since I now live in Chicago so it is harder to deal with issues at my rental property.
