We've been using Good Flow for quite some time and they've always been fair, honest, and prompt with addressing our plumbing problems. Recently, during Austin's "Great Freeze of 2018", we had an outdoor pipe burst. Of course we called Good Flow to come fix it and they were able to schedule us in the following day. On whim, we called the larger plumbing companies in town just to see how quickly they'd be able to respond, the nearest appointments were over a week out. I would like to commend GFP's Joel Robb for being a good, honest guy. I initially had one of his crew come out to fix two toilets. The workman was able to work on one and not the other, because he didn't have the parts. For no reason whatsoever, a week later, I used a different plumbing company to fix toilet #2. This team found that toilet #1 was not sufficiently fixed (some things still needed replacing) and was still leaking. I called Joel, explained the issue, sent my service receipts, and he send me a refund. I'm not sure he was even completely convinced of my problem, but he sent it because he cares about his company's reputation. I appreciate that. You don't see it very often these days.

In May of this year, we were scheduled to have a garden party, and were cleaning the house the day before, on a Friday. When cleaning around the commode in the guest bathroom, we noticed that when the toilet flushed, water was seeping out from the base. And the toilet itself was somewhat loose. It had been installed less than 2 years previously by another firm. I called them, and when they sent their guy out, I was quoted something like $290 to replace the commode, and told that it might have a broken flange, which would require soldering, and that would run a minimum of another $275 or greater.

Not being pleased with this news from the plumber who's company had installed it, I proceeded to tell him to wait, went and got a wrench, removed the nuts to the anchor bolts and pulled it so we could see what the actual problem was.

Once I pulled it, the flange was broken. I thanked him and told him that I'd rather pay anyone else than his company to do the repair.

I called Good Flow and the nice lady there managed to get word to one of her plumbers, and Darrel (sp?) made it out within an hour or so.

He came in, looked at it, gave me a bid and his bid was under $300 to solder the broken mounting flange, put in a new wax ring and re-seat the toilet.

He was later joined by a bigger fellow, who said his name was Darrel too--that he was Darrel's brother. Then they laughed, and told me their real names.

The bigger Darrel came in and took over the soldering and then the littler Darrel re-seated the toilet, and they had it all re-installed, and re-caulked within about 90 minutes. And they charged less than the other major company wanted just to re-seat it. (I won't name them, but they use their mom in their commercials.) When they were done, they cleaned everything up and left the area very presentable.

I told the bigger Darrel that I wanted him to tell his boss that I was very happy with them. He said he was the owner.

Personally, I'd rather do business with the guy that owns a company than with some employee, who is only in it for a paycheck. These guys were great, and I have already recommended them to at least one friend, who was unfortunately dependent on another non-responsive competitor.

These guys bailed me out of a tight spot and the party went off without a hitch. I recommend them without any reservation whatsoever.

I have used Good Flow Plumbing in my downtown condo on 4 occasions on the recommendation of several other owners in our building. Their plumbers are skilled, efficient and reasonably priced.
