I hired Ken Gomez for a small job and for a large job. He handled the small job well however he acted in the most unprofessional manner for the large job and I would never recommend or hire him again. Here's the detail if you want to know exactly what happened: 1) Small job: I hired him to fix a minor drain line stoppage in our garage apartment. He arrived promptly and took care of the job in under an hour. 2) Large job: I called him back a few weeks later because I had significant drain line issues under my house. It was a big job (replacing leaking cast-iron, rerouting drains) but I agreed to what his estimate was ($3500). I asked him to proceed as soon as possible. I told him we were leaving on vacation and that I would turn off the water and the house sitter would use the garage apartment plumbing so that the space under the house could dry out. I asked him to please have it done by the time we returned. He said he would keep me posted. Three days before we got home I still had not heard from him, and he had not replied to several days of texts. I called him and left a voicemail. He finally responded and called me back. He told me he had decided """"not to do the job"""" because it was """"too nasty"""" and he didn't know anyone that would do it. He claimed he hadn't gotten my texts which is odd because he did receive them earlier. I do not mind that he did not want to do the work - I highly resent that he let all that time go by and did not let us know so we came home to a house with essentially no plumbing. That is no way to treat a customer much less a fellow human being. I called Emerald Plumbing and they came out immediately gave an estimate. Worked for two days solid and charged $200 less. Guess who I'm calling next time.
