This guy is the real deal. My water heater started leaking in my basement and I knew I had to get the situation fixed right away because I was heading out of town for a week. Frank answered his phone, gave me a solid quote, showed up when he said he was going to - 2 hours later - and did a great job. This is my second time with Gomes Plumbing and if you think I'm dealing with anybody else you're out of your mind.

Our water heater broke on Friday and I called Frank Saturday morning at 9am. He said he'd be over in 30 minutes for an inspection and quote. He showed up on time and gave me a very reasonable price. He started working on replacing the heater immediately and was done in around 3 hours. He was very friendly, honest, and quick. Look no further, as other places I called quoted $500 more than Frank. Extremely satisfied with the service, and now if you'll excuse me, I'll be enjoying a nice and long hot shower.

Huge thanks to Frank who came to my rescue after the water was shut off in my building and the stem broke in valve...leaving me with no water. Frank arrived the following morning, analyzed the issue and sent me pics of the completed job while I was at work. Timely, efficient and doesn't rip you off.

So...I'm rewriting this review..unfortunately, I would give 5 stars usually but Frank has slipped through a couple of appointments in the last couple of months. He used to respond right away for a job that I called him for but I've gotten a strike 2 of him not returning calls and telling me he can make it to an appointment but cancel at the last minute. I was annoyed at first but he finally called me back. He was never like this before so I was surprised.
Good thing about Frank is that he won't just charge you just to show up like the other companies. Later on, he actually explained to me about his situations of why he wasn't able to come through and it was actually legitimate reasons. We all have off days from life consequences, so all in all, he is legitimate, hard worker and charges much less than other pricey places.

Just wanted to add an updated review. We decided to replace the boiler in our home as it was original to our house that was built in 1938. Frank gave us a very fair price and his schedule worked with ours. He even made us aware of incentives being offered by Mass Save. We have been very pleased with Frank's work and his professionalism.

Frank showed up in person the same day we called, he was professional and courteous. Unfortunately, we should have reminded him to extensively test the connections for leaks. When we called him he came back immediately, did more than one test and refused to take any money for the job. Will recommend

I don't get how this company has all great reviews! We have gas leak in one of the pipes. After reading all these positive reviews we called Gomes plumbing heating and cooling. We left 2 voicemails and two days later no response!!! In the second voicemail we asked the guy to at least call us back even if they can't take care of the issue, at least to let us know that they are busy or something. No response! Don't waste your time. They don't care. Gas leak is the serious issue but not for these guys I guess!

OK, while I'm writing Yelp reviews tonight, I really need to give Frank an overdue 5-star rating. You never really appreciate a true professional until you've had to deal with a total hack, which I've done. (I am through with home warranty programs that don't give you any say in who provides your service!) I had my house go cold on one of our sub-zero mornings, and after a guy who we used and liked before said he was booked solid for the day, I found Frank on Yelp. He came over within a couple of hours and pinpointed the problem.

A couple of weeks later, I noticed a persistent leak from the boiler. Again, I called Frank, and he came by a couple of days later since it was not an emergency. He fixed the issue and was not going to charge me, but I insisted on paying him at least a service fee.

Frank is friendly, knowledgeable, fair and responsive. When you call him, you're getting his direct line. I wish I had hired him to install our boiler and central AC instead of the guy I gave 2 stars to. I highly recommend him and will probably have him come back to fix some of the shoddy work that was done previously.

Frank was excellent. Had an issue with HVAC system in South Boston. Came over the next day and fixed everything within a hour. Very reasonably priced... He even came back with a spare part that our system required before the end of the day, FREE OF CHARGE. I would highly recommend him!

""Can't show up because it's in Cambridge?"" Is that too far? What gives? I'm going to give this business the benefit of the doubt, but it sounds odd that servicing a client for an estimate the next city over constitutes a problem.
0 stars or LOWER, for now. Hope you do good work, where ever you DO service.
