Made an appointment for between 9-11 am, at 11 am I got a call saying they were running late and it would be a few more minutes. Well 1 pm they finally showed up. I wanted an estimate for a washer and dryer hook up. They had to go in to the crawl space to see where the plumbing was to tap in to. Well they were down there for a long time when they came up all they wanted to talk about was the furnace. An elbow joint. I politely explained they were just out here for the washer and dryer hook up. Which the furnace is no where they needed to be or look. They explained this was a serious matter and they could not do any work till they fix this. Which I told them I would fix it and now lets talk about the washer and dryer. Phil also told me there was 10 other things that needed fixed as well. Which I started to get upset and ask for the ten things which he refused to tell me even after I asked multiple times.
All these guys were doing is fishing for work. Made me waste my whole day. I can appreciate they have a certain responsibility when they see something. But when you're running so late, focus on the job at hand, not wasting my time.
Shady business practices, no return phone call from management after I called to complain. Would not recommend.

Consumer beware - This company will gouge you!
I called Golden West Plumbing on a Saturday Morning in August because my home had a gas leak. The operator was very helpful and sent someone out within a few hours to take care of the problem. I was very specific on the phone about where the leak was located in my attic, and asked if the technician would be able to make the repairs that day. When the technician arrived I proceed to explain the problem and let him know that the flex gas line in the attic had been punctured. He then became a little annoyed by the fact that he would need to get up into the attic to have a look. After having a quick look in the attic, he confirmed that the problem was as I had stated. He then said he would need 10-15 minutes to write up the estimate and would be back with me shortly. He did not have any required materials with him to make this repair. About 15 minutes later he returned to my door with the estimate. The total presented was $1,200! I was at that point completely speechless, the repair itself as I later found out was about $30 in materials, and took about 2 hours from start to finish. ($260 total from All Around Plumbing) Golden West's estimate was more than it would have cost to run a completely new line! The gouged me over 4 times what another master plumber ended up charging me!! Had this happened in the winter time, the situation would have been much more of a concern as I would not be able to operate the furnace until this was complete. They definitely tried to take advantage of the situation, and pricing was complete robbery! I will never use this plumber again, and would strongly recommend that others beware as they will take advantage of you and capitalize on emergency situations. The manager never did return my call when I called to discuss my concerns.
A great master plumber that I would strongly recommend is All Around Plumbing - 303-947-7458

Chris V. is the man! He fixed a broken a/c (due to Indoor Quality Air--DO NOT USE THEM for cleaning your furnace or air ducts!), and he was personable, professional, and got the job done in a timely matter. He patiently waited around while Indoor Quality Air (the WORST!) was arguing about how much to pay for THEIR mistake, and in the end he took less $ than what he quoted them in order to help me. I will definitely call him again and refer him to family and friends! (And I will NEVER call INDOOR QUALITY AIR/BLUE SKY DUCT CLEANING!) Thanks, Chris, for fixing my a/c, doing the right thing, and not asking for ME to pay for INDOOR QUALITY AIR's mistake.

They stand behind their workmanship...!! I had them install a new AC system for my home in April 2014 (which was also a very good experience as they got it all installed very quickly working early and late and the price was very competitive). I didn't use the AC until very recently however, and when I tried it wound't turn on even though it worked fine just after the install. Called at 9:00pm on a Sunday night and Anthony L. was here bright and early the next morning. He quickly sourced the problem as an issue with the blower motor getting low voltage, and had a new one installed within 2 hours. My home is nice and chilly now. No extra cost to me. Good to see that a company stands up with the warranty on the work, and the parts involved. Glad to know they will be there when I need them. Thanks Anthony...!

Chris came out and quickly diagnosed the problem. Since our unit is unique and he didn't have the parts on his truck, he waived the service call fee. It's refreshing to work with an honest company.

One word, IMPRESSED! Great service, fair, clear & upfront pricing, immediate attention! When my 10-year old AC unit decided not to work, I contacted Golden West and they had a tech come out next day. Chris was very knowledgable, on time, but most important, HONEST-a trait hard to come by with contractors. Chris provided a thorough analysis of the problem and provided multiple options for my husband and I to discuss. To be sure my investment was well spent, I contacted another AC company for a second opinion. I and was not impressed by their staff or pricing, and worse yet, they were booking towards the end of summer. After doing my research I contacted Golden West to schedule the install of my new AC system. I was expecting them to tell me 20-30 days out like many other places, but they scheduled NEXT DAY! As promised, Techs Chris and Anthony arrived on time and very meticulously installed the system. Anthony was so polite, he even installed the new thermostat and programmed it for me. I enjoyed working with Golden West and feel a huge sense of relief to know that if I have any questions about my new unit or furnace, I'm in great hands. I'll certainly be recommending Golden West, Chris and Anthony to my friends, neighbors and family!

My furnace quit last winter and Golden West was the only company that I could get here immediately to fix it. Chris V. was the technician. Great service and he explained everything. I signed a service contract. Extremely happy with them. They just cleaned & checked AC unit, gave me inspection report, cost $0. I appreciate their honesty and promptness.

Woke up the other morning to find water gushing out of the ground along our front walkway. Thought it was a sprinkler leak of some sort. Sprinkler guy came out and between the two of us, we determined that it wasn't a sprinkler line leak but rather a leak in the main line to the house. UUUUUUGH. Called 5 different companies, Golden West was the only one that could come out same day and that had the expertise to handle an issue of this magnitude. The technician that came out, Rolly Rodriguez was super nice and very professional. He quoted us a fixed price for digging a large hole and seeing if the pipe could be repaired. He did explain to us that there was a chance that they would be unable to just repair the pipe. In that event, the cost would be significantly more. We agreed for them to get working around 4PM. Given that the pipe was at least 5 feet underground, they didnt reach it until around 10 that evening. Unfortunately for us, it turned out that the main water pipe was made of lead (our home was built in 1937). Denver County regulations prohibit repairs to lead service pipes...they have to be replaced (I verified this on the county website). Rolly broke the bad news to us on the pipe, but as mentioned earlier, he had been clear that something like this could happen.
The Golden West team arrived the next morning with 5 men and a backhoe. They worked most of the day trying to extract the old lead pipe and install the new copper pipe. They were required to cut through a few sprinkler lines and a sewer line, as well as doing some significant foundation drilling around the pipe entrance of our home. Finally near the end of the day, they were able to get water service restored to the house. Our yard didnt look very good at the end of the day given the extent of digging required. The backhoe had a spin out in one area which left a large gash in the yard. Rolly was back out the next day working on getting the lawn back in shape for us as well as reconnecting the sprinkler lines. Today is the 4th day since it happened and Rolly just showed up again to bring some dirt to help fill in the rut from the backhoe.
I just cant say enough about the dedication of this team to making sure that they did a good job and that we were satisfied.
I would highly recommend this company.

Stay away. These guys will gouge you.
I first had Golden West out to tune up our heater, and that was okay except that they did a real hard-sell on an extra-sensitive carbon monoxide detector. Lots of scare tactics about how our normal CO monitors weren't good enough. They were also very shady in quoting the price to me, like not breaking out parts, labor and visit cost so it was hard to tell how crazy-expensive said CO monitor was.
I didn't think much of it at the time, but my second interaction with them has me thinking that this is the company's M.O. Our swamp cooler wasn't running very well, so we called them out to take a look. He came back with a price quote of $794 to replace the float, drain and pads and to clean the pan. It pains me to admit that I signed off on those charges, as I later learned that the cost of the parts was around $80 bucks. He spent maybe 1.5 hours total on the job, so that's a heck of an hourly rate.
THEN, he comes in all ""Everything went great! Fantastic! Except the pump is now broken!"" And tried to charge another $300 to fix that. Needless to say ... the part is $15-$30 at Home Depot. After my husband called them up and called them crooks, they did agree to replace the pump at no extra charge.
There were other shady things, too. Like when I was asking questions about the initial $794 charge, because it seemed steep, he told me a new swamp cooler would cost $4,000 to $5,000. I don't think there's a swamp cooler on the market that expensive, unless it's plated with pure gold. And he made a big deal about how he was going to replace a plastic piece with a brass piece and it would be so much better ... and then when we checked afterward, the new part was still plastic. Anyway, I'm mad at myself for getting scammed and would encourage everyone else to look elsewhere -- their technicians are very friendly and personable, which makes it harder to realize you're getting fleeced!

I just called for an estimate for new work and they would not even talk to me without paying $49.00 ""service Fee"" what a rip off! Anybody who cannot give you an estimate for free is not worth your time!!!
