Placed a service request through our home warranty. This company was assigned our service request. The window was from 8-12. At 12:30, I called to follow up because the plumber hadn't arrived yet. The receptionist informed me that the plumber did come and knocked but no one answered. Apparently, he could hear my children inside of the house but we didn't hear a knock at all. We have dogs that bark at the slightest noise, so I am confused by the arrival and apparent knocking getting past all of us.

When I talked with the office manager about the issue, I asked why the technician hadn't called me to verify that I was home. She literally said ""we come, we knock, that's it. It's not our job to babysit you"". Extremely rude and unprofessional. I had been working with my children with their online schooling. Perhaps I didn't hear an initial knock, but had the tech actually tried to knock louder or ring the doorbell, we would have heard it. We are the customer and there is no reason to take such a condescending tone. Other companies call with a 20 minute warning prior to arrival. I would never recommend this company. If your home warranty assigns them, you can call back and request a different provider.

If I honestly could put ZERO stars I would. Horrible, horrible , horrible customer service! I had someone come out to to do some repair work on a drain plug for the master bath. I am no plumber, however I just replaced some parts not even a month ago. They came out and threw my stuff away and stated they were not compatible and that they needed to be replaced. So I called the office at 209-557-9700 and this female customer service agent was not even trying to explain to me the logic behind replacing my items. Not only was she laughing at me, she mocked me over the phone, discredited my knowledge, and had the audacity to hang up on me abruptly. I'm outraged ! I calmly called back and requested to speak with the manager/supervisor/owner only to be told that the mgr is out of the building. Crappy service. I Do NOT recommend Golden State Plumbing whatsoever under any circumstances period.

Golden State have done lots of work in my house. From the start of the appointment scheduled, they have been awesome with their communication through texting to tell me of the status and progress and availability. The technician arrived on time, took care of the work, cleaned up the mess and hauled away all the trash.
They also converted my regular water heater to a tankless one. One of the best decisions I made.
I highly recommend Golden State plumbing and will utilize their services all the time.

I used my home warranty for the first time for my plumbing after having a waterfall under my kitchen sink. I had also turned off the water in my garage sink due to a leak. Golden State Plumbing Service set up an appointment with me within 3O minutes of me reporting an issue to my home warranty. They came out within 24 hours and fixed everything, I highly recommend Ruben from Service State Plumbing Service!!

Our toilet was leaking and running--we called our home warranty company (American Home Shield) and they set us up with Golden State Plumbing Service. We couldn't be happier with the quality service we've received from Johnathan Garcia ""Johnny."" Our toilet was a challenge because it is older and had a combination of issues. Johnny just took a quick look and he knew exactly how to fix it. We are impressed and grateful by his outstanding skills, diligence, efficiency, and professionalism. Johnny represents Golden State Plumbing a Service very well and he gave us today another reason to be grateful to have AHS as our Home Warranty Company. We have been with AHS a few years already and each time we have called for service we have been happy with skillful professionals they sent to help us and also with the efficient service they provide.

hello my name is Rafael Garcia and I had the worse experience with GOLDEN STATE PLUMBING they sent a tech named Ruben who took pictures of my water heater and wrote down all the information to replace it through our home warranty company. a girl named Brandy called us a few days later to ask how our water heater was working ( she thought that Ruben had fixed it), I explained that he never touched it and said it needed to be replaced she said they were going to send another tech with more experience to look at it again. at that point I had being without hot water for more than a week and I explained as much only to be talked to very disrespectfully by BRANDY they kept lying to the home warranty company for two more weeks saying they were going to come out to replace the water heater. when I would call the warranty company they would put me on hold so they could call GOLDEN STATE PLUMBING only to say they spoke to JESSICA and they were coming out the next day, this went on for almost a month now. today I called the warranty company and they put me on hold while they call them, they told me they would not use this company again because they were very unresponsive. I called GOLDEN STATE PLUMBING and got yelled at by TRACY the MANAGER saying that they were very busy and did not need my business. if I were a home owner or a warranty company I would really hesitate to use this company until they get more respectful of their customers or get better office staff

I had a very frustrating time with my water heater replacement, but because of First American Home Warranty, not this contractor. They were quick to respond, always available and very professional in the diagnosis and replacement of my water heater. It took 15 days from failure to replacement because the warranty company absolutely does not care how long it takes if they can save 14 cents. They first made me wait 6 days before they bothered to read the diagnosis and order a water heater. It took 8 more days for the water heater to be delivered to the contractor. Golden State moved heaven and earth to get it to me and installed the following morning. He arrived within 5 minutes of the schedule and went right to work. The original tech missed a replacement valve needed for the install; Golden State ""don't worry, we will cover it"" and the install tech went to get the missing part and return to finish the job in about 3 hours total. I think Golden refers to California, but it also applies to the service level they provide.

Stay away from Golden State Plumbing. All 1 Star reviews are true & be skeptical about fake 5 star reviews.

We have a water heater emergency & we we're coordinating with our Home Warranty. The inspector was ok but Rebecca who answers the phone is rude & dismissive. She will rush & cut you off with your questions. When she says ""is there anything else we can help you with?"", she really means hang up now & go away. When asked, she refused to give me her supervisor's name, hanged up on us twice. Instead, she maliciously lied & sabotaged our water heater replacement. She called our Home warranty & reported ""mold"" exists without any proof. It has set us back 1.5 weeks & hundreds of dollars for inspection the Home Warranty required after her fake report. We have filed a complaint so the Home Warranty does not use this vendor again.

As an update, we called the next business day to file a formal complaint to the owner named Tracy. The owner acted the same way as her employee. She rudely talked over us & will not listen to facts of the matter & hanged up on us. This is an Owner/manager who leads by bad example! She called back to dictate her views, demanded to remove this review without knowing the facts how her office lied & treated us & most likely other clients as well (see other reviews), then hanged up on us again. We have filed a BBB complaint #14334133 with all the facts & timeline of calls to their office.

We have recommended this business be removed from our Home Warranty list of vendors and made sure our complaint is recorded.

We highly suggest that you stay away from Golden Gate Plumbing.

Very unprofessional Had a technician come out Wednesday. Couldn't resolve the issue, which was ok. This company was contracted through my home owners insurance. Anyway, we were told by them they'd be out on Friday at 1pm to hydro jet. 1:30 they weren't here so we called to see what was going on. We were told they wouldn't be here til Tuesday, mind you my issue has been going on since Saturday. We were upset because nobody called to notify us that they wouldn't be able to make it out here at the time they said. Instead we have to call them to find out and ask our insurance company to contract someone else. Had they notified us sooner this could've been resolved sooner. Instead we're still stuck here unable to wash clothes, dishes, or use our other bathroom. This is ridiculous I understand that with everything going on they're probably short technicians but the least they could've done was let us know what was going on. I'm hoping we never have to deal with them again. If you want something done in a timely manner, don't use them please. Save yourself the BS call someone else and take your chances. However if you do stick with them, Ruben was a good guy and he can help you out. It's not on him it's the people in the office running the show.

Home warranty company assigned Golden State to install new water heater. Install done March 30, 2020 without a permit and the exterior door to closet would no longer close.
April 3, 2020 technician out to re-position water heater so door will close. Asked why no permit pulled. He said responsibility of AHS.
E-mailed AHS, no response. Filed complaint with CSLB.
April 8, 2020 Golden State technician at gate to complex (7:40am) said, "" I have your permit."" I let him in (he has no permit in hand), he goes straight to water heater with some copper piping and begins add'l work on the water heater. Asked about it and he said something about the T&P line. I mentioned, ""that must mean it wasn't properly installed on March 30th."" and asked to see the permit. He said, ""it's on file with the office that does the inspection"", he could not name that office. At 9:53am I received a call from Tracy/Golden State Plumbing calling to give me a ""heads up"" that when the inspector arrives for the water heater, he will also enter your home to check for smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. ( was this an attempt to intimidate me?) I told her not a problem as I have ALL! (They were installed by the realtor when I bought this home 1 year ago) I also mentioned the add'l work done today on the original install, she denied add'l work was done and started to argue with me. I hung up.
I would NOT recommend using this company.
