A few months ago, we wrote a review of Gold Medal Services describing how we were grossly overcharged for an electrical service.
It should be noted here that we were recently compensated for part of the service thanks to a company representative who understood our cause and diligently pursued the conflict.

Forget it - call someone else.
Their ""same day guarantee or its free"" is a joke and not true.

I called to have a gas line connection made to a new gas dryer for a tenant in a house I own in Toms River. Called on a Sunday morning, scheduled the appointment for Monday.
They never showed Monday. When I called them, they ""CLAIM"" that they called and left a voicemail Sunday afternoon to cancel and reschedule for Tuesday because they had too many emergency calls. I was home all day Sunday with my cell phone in my pocket - it never rang. Further, I had ZERO missed calls and ZERO voicemails.
The original operator told me ""I'll transfer you to dispatch to reschedule, be sure to tell them you were never contacted so you qualify for a free visit based upon our guarantee.""
Meanwhile my tenant sat at home all day waiting for them and they never showed and they never called, texted, or emailed to reschedule.

When I asked dispatch about their guarantee, dispatch basically laughed at me and told me ""since our system shows that we called you to reschedule, you don't qualify for the free visit."" I challenged them ""well since all your calls are recorded for security or training purposes - please find the recording and play it back for me if you left the voicemail.""
""oh no, we can't do that. We definitely called, its noted in our system, so you must have just deleted it."" Again, when I challenged them to play the recording of their voicemail back for me, they scoffed.

Its a scam, they're rude, they don't honor their advertised guarantee, etc. I don't want anything free, I'm not looking to get something for nothing. But waiving the $89 visit fee and charging me for the rescheduled visit would have been fair. Nope - they just say they upheld their end of the agreement and I ""must have deleted their voicemail"", so my loss.
Sorry - YOUR loss.
Cancelled the appointment and went with a local guy.
STEER CLEAR. VERY CLEAR.

Stay away from these crooks.They bought Olsons heating and cooling and they are ruining that company's good name.They are overpriced...unreliable and will overcharge you to no end.They couldn't even make it work when they partnered with Costco.Horrible.

They refunded me some money for services that were not up to par.
Unit still wasn't working.
Received partial refund check made out to me but the bank will not cash it as it has my sister's name attached to it (but not on the check itself). I was being nice to pay for my sister's service this winter because she had no money.
Giving me the run around for 5 weeks.
This is a shoddy way of doing business and they are acting like sleaze bags which shows their true colors.
Stay away from this OUTFIT!

This is the review anyone needs to read if they are looking for electrical, etc. service. I noticed one of my outlets outdoors wasn't working, & I went to their website (past 9 pm!), & they connected me with a great guy who set me up for an appointment the next morning! And the expert they sent, Andre McIntyre, was superb. He quickly figured out the problem & fixed it. A real pro. And I have used Gold Medal Services before, & I will use them again. I have read some of the negative reviews on here, & believe me, ignore them! They know their business & they took care of my needs quickly, efficiently, & I cannot say enough good things about Gold Medal Services!

I had a clogged bathroom drain. I made an appointment and they told me they had nothing on a certain day so I could have any time I wanted. Then she tells me he will be here be here between 9-11am.... He didnt show up until the afternoon some time. Then he proceeds to snake the drain and breaks the pipe behind my wall.

Basically tells me, ""Oh well, you're going to have to get someone in to open the wall and see what's going on. Then you can call us and we can come back and fix it."" Acted like it wasn't his fault and somehow I was responsible for paying for the repairs.

a/c wasn't working. called for repair. repair man arrives. looks at the furnace blower looks at the a/c compressor. he only looks with a flash light doesn't check any thing , never removes the service plate. said it would cost 2000.00 dollar to replace the blower motor. he never took out a meter to see if there was any current going to the motor. did not check the capacitor attacked to the blower motor. at this point we were desperate and agreed to have it fixed. then the repair man said its not worth fixing it. he states the unit is to old to repair and that we should upgrade the whole system. i refused to accept his advise. i got a second repair company to check the unit. after a extensive diagnostic check of the system. this second company found a faulty control board. even showed me the burnt out circuits. he order a new board and installed it for 500.00 dollars. saving our family thousands of dollars in repairs and upgrades.

Im really all confusing when i opens this page to write a review for Gold Medal Services located in bergen county and see all this negative Reviews. I needed to replace my hot water tank, didn't know where to go, cause my plumber for so many years told me there was shortage of tanks and that unfortunately the Smith brand i want was not available, he was pushing me to buy one less quality, so I called this company everything was so smooth, that still i can't believe i solved the problem!. The technician arrived, Charles LLallo, i hit the lottery with this guy, he not only offered me the brand i wanted he also installed a bunch of new pipes and ball tank, he came on time for appointment and was here next day 8 am sharp, to take back the old heavy tank, send me clear paper and receipt of the whole process, he was very proessional, explained in detail everything and answered my question. Im the kind of buyer that sometimes i feel guilty for not writing reviews to let people knows the truth about a good or bad product, but this time Im sooooo happy that i can't let it pass even though I'm having a busy morning today.

Ripoffs. Used their A/C tuneup. First time they were 2 hours late and this was for a 4 hour window they'd given me. They came back and told me I needed a TXV valve and coil replaced for $4,000...and said since it's so much, I might as well buy a whole new A/C (their words, not mine). Got another price of $500 to replace this. They are criminal in their pricing.
