I wouldn't hire this company for anything. Incompetent and over priced.

PSEG technician told me that a line jaw inside my meter socket is burned out and I needed to have a licensed electrician to replace the meter socket.
I checked Yelp and found the ""Gold Medal Service"". I checked its website and it states open 24 hours and same day repair. But when I called, it told me that it was booked till Monday. I told them what problem was and the meter socket needed to be replaced.
On Monday, a technician came and I told him what the problem is with the meter socket. The technician initially insisted the wires were not good even after I told him about the problems of the jaw line of the meter socket. I particularly asked him the problem with the meter line jaw. He said ""no, the meter is good."" He still said the meter jaw was good even after I pointed out the one jaw line is open and the rest three were tightly closely. The technician insisted the wire was bad, not the meter line jaw. He gave me the option of replace the wire for $651. In the meanwhile, he tried to sell a membership of $299.
I asked him to do the repair. For whatever reason, he told me that he found out the problem is with the meter socket. Then, he said, he had to call his boss to get a quote. Couple minutes later, he said he had the quote in his book. Then, he gave me an estimate of $3800. Then, he tried to sell $299 membership again.
I told him it is too much. Honestly, I didn't trust him to do the work. Then, he asked me to pay $158 fee for this investigation fee. I told him there was nothing to investigate. PSEG already told me what the problem was and all I need is a licensed electrician who could offer an decent estimate and ready to start working. I refused to pay the ""investigation"" fee.

I hired another electrician to finish the same work, the cost is less than half Gold Medal Service asked.

So I will never use this company.

Gold Medal installed a new HVAC system about 6 years ago and over the years I have called them for routing maintenance including this summer.
Recently, the system has not been working and I called for an appointment.
The representative initially gave me an appointment and a quote, however, later called me to inform me that the management has made a decision to not serve me without any reason.
I requested a call from a manager/supervisor and although was promised one within 24 hours it has been over 48 hours but no call.
When I was looking for an installer Gold Medal was very nice and called frequently and showed up on time, but when the time came to fix an issue they backed out!!

They try to force a customer to buy one of their expensive plans all the time even though the system is fairly new and try to scare you and when I did not purchase a new plan they decide not to serve me!

Since they did full inspection just 2-3 months ago I believe they fear that something might have been broken and was not identified during the inspection.
If you do not want to serve then why send marketing mails/emails?

I would not recommend this merchant to anyone!!

I would not recommend this company. I was a loyal customer of Waterworks, and I loved them. I called because I had a leak in my ceiling. First thing the plumber says is he noticed I have not renewed my contract, and since I loved waterworks, I did. And boy am I sorry!

The plumber said it was a condensation leak, and quoted me a price to clean the air vents. But explained another division did that. There was a two week wait. In the interim, the leak got worse and was clearly coming from the master bath shower. I turned the shower on, and water poured out of the ceiling. I called the office back pissed. Another plumber comes, who was very nice, and apologized for the level of service by the previous person. He fixed the leak, problem solved.

As part of my contract I got the AC unit serviced. The technician did a hard sell on replacing the entire unit for 20k. I said no thanks, I will sell my house before I ever did that. I felt like because I was female, he thought he could take me for a ride. This is not the same management.

They took over Team Electric several months ago, they had serviced my Mitsubishi ductless air conditioner several years ago and knew what they were doing. I called for service this morning, scheduled service since it was dripping water inside my house, was given a time between noon and 4 PM and was told they don't replace these units but can do the repair. At 1:30PM they called my home said they were running late and would be closer to 4PM. At 2:15 they called again and said they couldn't do the repair that they no longer service theses units and the dispatch cancelled 5he appointment. I had taken the day off from work. In the past Team Electric was trustworthy. I will no longer use this company

I think they are in a business to get your service fees and not for the job itself. Came to my house for attic fan motor replacement, the lady on the phone assures me the truck is fully stock, the service guy cancel the appointment and reschedule for another day, finally, he came with no parts, really?? Attic fans motor replacement is $1,100, really??

I was actually a member of Gold Medal Service for 7 years. I did not renew my membership because I got tired of the constant cancellations and the rudeness of the team that is responsible for scheduling the calls and their constant excuses for changing appointments last minute.

The team of electricians is actually friendly and do a decent job but their strategy is to charge a low fee for the basic service and then charge a lot for any other issues they find in your house (they always do!) if you decide to do them.

I'm surprised with the negative reviews on Yelp. I saw a number of great reviews elsewhere on-line for Gold Medal.
I am very pleased with the level of service we received from start to finish. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful and addressed our concerns.
Our outside AC condenser was struck by lightning. The parts inside were melted. Thankfully, the repairs are covered by my homeowners insurance.
A repairman (Eric???) saw the damage inside the unit, and let us know a new condenser and coils were needed. We were not charged for his trip, because I mentioned that I found Gold Medal through Home Advisor the first time I called.
George came to our home on the same day and advised us which parts were needed and wrote out the contract.
What really impressed us was George also went to Home Depot, bought two window air conditioners, and installed them. (He normally has some with him, but his truck was being repaired.) He also advised that Gold Medal would obtain the needed permit and handle all paperwork to register our warranty.
The new unit was installed today. Chris, the lead installer, was very professional, incredibly polite, and thoroughly demonstrated the new thermostat and system components. Precautions were taken to keep our carpet clean, and they cleaned up after themselves.
Chris also removed the freon from the old condenser and gave me documentation to show Public Works when I call them to have it removed. He had to leave the old unit with us because we're still waiting for the insurance adjuster to inspect it.
The claim was made 8 days ago and we still haven't had a visit by anyone from the insurance company.

Called when my hot water tank gave out. They responded quickly (which is great) but beware they will try to up sell you. I was quoted a crazy price and we said NO thanks.. Called another company who replaced ""what was needed"" (actually a larger size) for $1800 less.. The GM tech called us back the next morning to see if we ""changed our mind"" and we said we had gotten another company at which point he offered to lower the price by $800.. What? Where was that price when we had no water - shame..

What a bummer. I called them for some plumbing work, and they were great. The tech went above and beyond; this is what service should be like. I even signed up on their membership/maintenance contract.

I called them for some electrical work. The electrician was prompt, courteous, and did the work necessary, with no up charging or hard selling. Two for two! Another great tech.

I called them for the HVAC checkup. Had to schedule weeks out. Your membership doesnt get you any priority service. Fine. 2 weeks later, the date arrives. 12-5 window. 4-5 window. 5-6 window. Half day wasted. Never mind, we arent coming.

Lost a day of work, for nothing. I expected to be put first on the schedule the next day. Nope. Another 2 week wait. I was told, even though i am a member, all new customers with hvac problems take priority over me.

Great membership program, if you want a reminder that membership has no privileges. Members aren't a priority. Got a partial refund, so that was good, I guess.

Edit reply to Dave: as a small business consultant, with lots of experience in skilled trade, I really can say you have great techs, that earn you repeat business and successfully drive membership/maintenance contract sales.

I'm also aware of how people get bumped and schedules change. If I got bumped to the next morning, it sucks, but I understand that service calls are a can of worms and sometimes run long. But to reset the clock and go back to the end of the line? Another week+ wait??? That's a fatal flaw in customer service and back end administration and scheduling policy.

Usually it's crap techs that cost you business. Bummer that you got that figured out and falter on the basics of scheduling.

Edit 2: their customer service person called and offered to schedule the system check next week at no charge. I passed on the offer. She was very apologetic and confirmed that they had disappointed other members and that's not their goal (just a side effect of their scheduling policy). Then she asked me to take down the review. Uhm, no. Don't silence criticism. Learn from it. Super bummed they would try and leverage a free hvac check to get rid of a review.

Previously Water Works from Westwood, NJ. Great company. Spent thousands of dollars fixing old plumbing or if I had other issues. I decided to get a contract and even opened a credit card with Gold Medal. My contract will end in January 2020. I was told they were no longer servicing my area. With all the money I spent and renewing contracts for over 20 years, I was disappointed they wouldn't make an exception. I will need to replace my 30 yr old central unit one day. The unit my brother installed in 1989 when he worked for an A/C company. Unfortunately after his passing, I had to start using an Heating & A/C company. Sad to lose them but I'll just go back to the old company I used just for my A/C. They do everything as Gold Medal.
