Consumer Beware
On 2 October 2024, I had a water pipe break in my wall at the rear of the house. I called Goettl Plumbing. They were able to come within the hour. When the Plumber came, he said that he had to cut through the wall to fix pipe, which he did. I was talking about my decision to purchase a new hot water heater, pressure gauge and saltwater unit on the phone with individual from accounting and Rudy the plumber. While on the phone, three maybe four men came into the house and Rudy was telling where the wall needed to be cut out and insulations removed. I asked both men, Rudy and accounting man on phone with me, both told me they were contractors that they use to work on walls and such. I asked them if they were going to be included in my bill for over $12,000. Both men gave me the answer of yes.
Towards the end of the afternoon, Goettl employees came to install all new units for me. Then I had a member of QD Restoration, LLC come to my door to check on the dehumidify. Now let me give you some bullet points for the rest of my experience. Men that put in the hot water heater put an extension cord on equipment and I failed the Schertz inspection. Seems that using extension cord became obsolete six years ago. So Goettl employees had to come back next day to fix errors. I had to wait four and a half hours for them to come even when I was told that they would be there within an hour.
When I was told that the bill from QD Restoration LLC was separate from plumping bill. I was upset about Goettl lying to me. When QD Restoration called to discuss the invoice. I was told that I would be charged for TOXIC water removal. I had to clarify that it was not. Then I was told that I would be charged time and a half for member needing to come after five. I let them know that I was never given an option for a different company to come, and my house was in no way an emergency for him to come after five. They never called to schedule anything. They just showed up, QD Restoration called me to see if there was a way to get the insurance company to pay more of my deductible. Today I finally got an invoice to pay which was over $2,000.
The insurance representative told me that plumbing companies make agreements to refer their companies and when that happens plumbing company gets funds from that company.
mattie j.The worst service I have ever received. I usually check reviews and I didn't, my bad. The service tech staff was poor. the young man that was assisting was learning. My brother and I was discussing a matter and the older tech injected his self into our private discussion and I felt that was rude not to mention none of his concern. I do not recommend Goettl. The tech could use some sensitivity education.
I cannot stress enough how much I regret choosing Goettl Air Conditioning. Their service has been an absolute nightmare. After two power surges in late July knocked out my AC, I turned to Goettl, hoping for a fresh start. That decision has quickly become one of my biggest regrets.
I spent over $15,000 on a mid-tier AC unit that was installed at the end of July, and since then, it has been nothing but trouble. Despite the hefty price tag, I've been without AC twice due to faulty coils. Goettl has visited my home at least four times to address issues that should never have happened with a brand-new system. To add insult to injury, I paid $1,500 for duct work that wasn't even completed. When they later blamed the system's problems on inadequate returns, they tried to charge me for it again! Only after I pushed back did they finish the work I had already paid for.
Even more alarming, the refrigerant has had to be refilled three times in just two weeks because of ongoing leaks. How can a brand-new system fail so catastrophically?
On top of the technical failures, their customer service has been nothing short of appalling. Rather than addressing the serious, ongoing problems with my unit, they seem more focused on upselling me service subscriptions and water heaters. I've endured eight days without AC over two weeks in the peak of summer, and there has been no urgency whatsoever to resolve the issues--yet they keep pushing me to buy more!
The final straw came last night when I called to confirm today's appointment and to request a refrigerant refill to keep the house cool until they could properly fix the unit. I was shocked to learn that I wasn't even on the schedule, despite being told I would be after their last visit on Tuesday. To top it off, I'm being told that they are charging me $89 to return to my house, to fix a brand-new, defective system that is still under warranty!
Goettl has completely failed to provide even the most basic level of service or customer care. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid this company at all costs. If I could return the entire system and go with another provider, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Save yourself the frustration--look elsewhere. I'm unfortunately stuck for the next 10 years.
we have been customers for a while and we used this company for all our plumbing and AC repairs. yesterday they came and did a complementary fall tuneup because they said we were valuable customers, and it was their way of saying thank you. Well, yesterday's technician came and did his maintenance and Left our air condition stop working all together, so I called the company to have him come back out and fix what he did so the gentleman came back just to tell us it would be $482 to fix what he messed up. our ac was working before they came & messed with it. i'm still waiting to hear from someone.
The name says it all! They man that helped wanted me too call him not the company and said it would be cheaper.
Extremely pleased with the great service we received from Husam. He was very polite, and knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything. Goettl is is our choice for air conditioning and plumbing service.
This company is an absolute rip-off, if i could give 0 stars I would. I needed a toilet flange replaced and put in a request from Angi List, Goettle gave me a call and sent a tech out to give me an estimate. The tech inspected the flange and said he had to call the office so the Manager could give me an price for repair. I was in shock when the manager said it would cost 3K just to replace the toilet flange. I had already done research on how much it should cost and when I called them out on their BS, he dropped the price to $576. If I had been clueless they would have ripped me off. Please do your research and get a second or third opinion when dealing with these big name brand companies. I went with a family own business who did an outstanding job for a reasonable price.
I'm using a portable air conditioner from Home Depot now, thanks to these 'experts'. They kept trying to upsell me on a brand new $13k unit, when I kept telling them mine was working fine; that is until they 'worked' on it. After spending a grand to fix my ac, which was working but kept turning off randomly, now it does not cool at all. Thanks guys, worst customer service ever but at least now I have a 50cent flashlight with their name on it to remember them by. NOBODY WANTS YOUR $13k AC
John and Aidan installed a new softener for us and had to unclog multiple outlets. It took hours and they worked hard the whole time. They completed everything we needed and now we have a happy home with the excellent water!
Darrell Gonzales went above and beyond and explain to me everything that was going on with my system in detail. A+++ was really affordable will definitely keep Sadie's guard dog protection plan. It's a great safety net before anything fails..
