I heard so much about Goettl's customer service from the radio ads and commercials on TV. So I called them to come and look at my AC. Well, they never showed up and never called. So much for customer service.

I hate how disappointed I was with Goettl's service. The dreaded AC failure had finally occurred and after being a member of the Sunny Plumber Club (expired a month ago) I thought I'd give them a call.
Now, I didn't think that Goettl was going to be the value buy but for the service and commitment I would get, it would be totally worth it!
The gentlemen came, right on time, and was very respectful and efficient. Great. System is dead, basically have to replace - that's what I figured. I was also very excited because I was told that we could probably get our system fixed that afternoon!
That's where the problem, I think, lies. Goettl prays on desperate people and charges an obscene amount. When I asked the gentlemen here what the charge would be he said - $10-20k. Big number to me for a 1488 sq foot house. He said, he could get me on the phone with a supervisor and make a decision! .... I didn't know really how to respond. I asked, to please have a quote emailed to me - and I think I shocked the poor technician. This company wants you to make a 10-20k dollar decision on the phone? I think that is absolutely insane. Either way, after insisting a second time, they agreed and said he should get one to me shortly.
Four hours later, I texted the technician who was, again very nice. He apologized on behalf of the staff and said he would follow up to make sure I got a quote first thing the next day. Well ... here I am ... three days later with still no quote. Sorry to say Goettl, after three other quotes (received same day) I have made the decision to go with another company who is here now. Their price was below $10k and there was never a delay or issue. Sorry Goettl - I guess you couldn't keep me cool?

I own several properties in the valley and gave Goettl a shot - I'll never call them again. If you're dead set on using them, please be careful and try to educate yourself as much as possible before you call them. Do as much self diagnostic work on the machines as you can.
They show up for work, that's the plus. The downsides are constant upselling, lack of clear billing. I'm still waiting on an invoice to list out what I paid for. The pictures of installation are great, but somehow that's only for management and not the property owners. The plus is they motivated me to go get certified in HVAC again and I'm just planning to replace my own machines from now on.
Bottom line, if you have to then use them. If you have any other option, go with the other option.

We called them to do an A/C and plumbing ""checkup"" when they got here, they said our systems (A/C, water heater, and water softener- which is almost new) were at the end of their lives and needed to be replaced.
When we contacted another company, they said our systems were fine and the one thing that needed to be fixed on our A/C was fixed at minimal cost.
These guys just want to try to sell you a new system for thousands of dollars even when it isn't needed. Do not use them!!

After listening to their pretty nice and honest sounding radio ads, I decided to give them a shot with a clogged sink problem I had. My first goal is just to get a ballpark quote so I could tell if they had a competitive price or not. That is when things went south. If I can't even get a straight answer on a quote I'm sure not bringing anybody in. They can tell me what the trip charge would be, and that the trip charge would be offset by any charges the technician actually incurred doing the work, but they told me they did not have an hourly rate they did a fixed job pricing. I asked how much for the fix job and they told me they did not have that price in the office, they told me only the technician knew that. I asked if I could talk to a technician and they told me no that's just how their policy is. I told the guy sounds like their policy is to shield pricing from the customer and that's not customer service in my opinion and then I have to take my business somewhere else. If this is really how their business runs, I hope they go out of business quickly as we don't need any more of these types of businesses trying to deceive us and take our money.

Had an appointment with Goettl for an AC Check and Tune-Up that was on the books for several weeks. I was lured in by their tv and radio adds touting how great they are, and how much they care about customer service, yada, yada, yada... Turns out not so much! On the day of the appointment we had a range of time that they would be out. We waited, and waited, and finally the office called and stated that the tech was running a little late, but would be here before 5:00. After 5:00 I gave up and want about what was left of my day. At 5:38 I got a call from the tech, but by then it was too late... I always learned that if you make an appointment you keep the appointment! Early is on time, On time is late, and Late is unacceptable. If I could give less than one star I would, but to post a review I need to select one!!!

Don't bother trying to get information about their water treatment products that they've been advertising. No one knows anything about them. Went to their website very limited about the product they use, a chat option popped up so I started to chat with someone. They couldn't answer any questions but said someone that could would reach out the next day. I got a call at 9:55pm and 6:50am from two people that know nothing about the product. I called back and the young lady said she doesn't have anything in the office to explain but someone could come over and do it. I said I just want to know about what the hardware is, what they use, cost etc. nope. And she didn't seem to interested in the fact that this was odd. Said someone else could call me back when they have time. No thanks, I'll find one of another thousand companies that offer water treatment services in the valley. You had your chance. Either hire people that know what they're talking about, be more transparent, or put it on your website.

Had an appointment today from 2 to 5. I heard nothing until I saw a missed call with no voicemail at 4:30 pm. I called it back and was hung up on, likely on accident. I tried again a few minutes later and was able to speak to someone. His only response was well ""we called"" I asked if it is customary to leave a message and he didn't respond. He then asked if I wanted to reschedule. Apparently they are big enough to not care about individual customers anymore. Very poor customer service. After reading some other comments I likely saved myself some money as it seems they are more about the dollar and less about the custome

So follow up on our AC. 2 years old blown capacitor. Warranty only covers parts. 169.00 labor charge for a less than $20 capacitor. Really. Sure am glad we went with goettl our neighborhood, family owned business down the street.
Be sure to read the fine print and don't be afraid to contact a ma and pap company that would have done the repair for free for good service.
Only good note was tech was awesome.

Goettl is a quality, but expensive, A/C company with good technical knowledge. On the negative side, It really bothers me that during a pandemic, technicians enter my home to work on the air handler but do not decontaminate when they leave. This is not a reflection on the good technicians, rather it reflects on Goettl's lack of concern for public health and their customers. Technician should be provided with a decontamination kit and training to use it! Light switches, thermostats, door knobs should all be cleaned, but are not. Essential business does not mean throw caution to the wind. Also, Goettl should find a way to receive payment when the office won't answer a phone call from the technician. I am not pleased that they keep my credit card information on file without my authorization to do so.
