I debated quite a bit on whether this should be a 2 star or 3 star review. I can see why so many people have reviewed Goettl poorly and I can see why some have been satisfied. I bought a new AC unit from them.
The Good
I really believe these guys know what they are doing and I think they do a nice job installing.
The quality of the equipment looks good. I am not an expert, but I can see the materials are of better quality than most other units I have seen
They delivered on the final product. My AC is better now than it has ever been since I moved into my house.
Someone always answers the phone. They have a call center and it's nice to actually talk to someone rather than leaving a vm and wondering if someone will ever call you back. They also have a lot of people working for them so getting an appointment doesn't usually take too long (whether or not they keep it is another matter)
The Bad
The price is definitely higher than competitors, but you do seem to get what you pay for
It wasn't high-pressure sales (but mind you it was a heat wave and I had no AC), but they definitely seem to push you to the purchase of a new unit rather than even explain what the repair options are. If you're looking for a repair and can't even consider a new unit I would probably not recommend Goettl
Waiting - OMG the waiting! It took a full day for them to even diagnose and tell me that I needed to replace the unit. Then, there were quite a few SNAFUs related to scheduling. Guys came out way later than they were supposed to and the install took more than 1 day. The supervisor wound up calling me several times, but it was often me that had to initiate the calls. I was not too happy about that.
Overall - Not good, but not bad

Do not recommend using Goettl as they do not repair they only try to upsale you a new unit. In the recent heat wave, I was so happy to obtain a same day appointment. We were given a window from 1-5 pm. When no one showed up I called at 5:15 and was told the repair guy was still at appointment but we were next. They stated they would contact him to obtain an ETA as he was working in our immediate area. I received call 15 minutes later stating that he could not be reached so must be working.
About 7:30 PM received another call stating that they were in Anaheim(must have gone to another appointment as this was not in my area) and would be there soon. At 9pmish the repairmen showed up. Be advised the 4 hour delay was the least of the issues. They do not repair they only advised we needed new system at $11,000. The sales guy/manager on the phone would not even explain what this included after several questions from my husband and it was now 9:45pm.
Needless to say, we said goodnight and they did not charge for the diagnostic because of the delay. The next day we found a local HVAC repair company (HVAC Guys in La Habra) who came out same day within the give time frame. He was thorough in his review of our upstairs system that was not working properly and identified the issue. He replaced the part not working during the visit and the cost was only $360. Our air conditioning is back to functioning normally!

Goettl told me the compressor was dead and I needed a whole new unit. I paid them for their service call. No receipt issued. No service order invoice documenting their findings. I asked them for those papers -- nothing. I was suspicious and called another repair service. The following day, a repairman from the second repair service went through a complete systems check. He tightened up bad connections and changed out the contactor. The repairs took less than 30 minutes. I have a receipt and a service order invoice which describes the problem and the work done. We are up and running.

Run for your life. I have had nothing but problems with this company. I am still not able to the get City of Long Beach to pass a final inspection because of a HVAC unit Goettl installed for me in a garage, that does NOT comply to Long Beach Building Codes. I have repeatedly called to have these repairs made, but to no avail. I am supposed to close escrow on this property on Tuesday, but the buyer isn't going to close until the City signs off on the permit. Oh, and I completely forgot that Goettl attempted to run my credit card for the balance owing before the system was completely installed. I have tried to upload a copy of the City of Long Beach's Correction list, but this system does not allow it. Beware, when I called Walton Heating and AC, which I never had problems with before, I failed to Google or check Yelp on Goettl. Now I am going to have to file a BBB claim and a suit in small claims. Ugh.. Save yourself this frustration.

I'd give no stars if I could! We called to set up an appointment more that 6 weeks ago. We had heard the radio advertisements and our central air needs maintenance. The soonest appt. we could get was for today 7/21. We've been waiting and waiting and working our schedules around today. Nobody called to confirm yesterday. This morning we get a call stating that the tech was tied up at another job and would not be able to come out to our appt! Are you serious?? Don't even bother trying to give this company your business, they don't it seriously!!

Awesome service rep. Michael Red did everything in the commercial plus more. Highly recommend. Might not me the cheapest company but you get what you pay for. Worth every penny. Thanks for the reeejuvination.

What can I say great advertising extremely BAD service!! I was scheduled for a yearly check up and they canceled then I started having problems with the unit and was scheduled 3 more times and canceled 3 more times!!
My gosh 2 1/2 months and still no service? They won't let me talk to the owner or a manager they just want to keep scheduling an appointment. Don't be duped by there advertising I would not do business with this company beware!!

Central AC and Heating installed perfectly in little more than half a day. They cost a little more than the competitors but worth it. Signed quote at 11am by 4:00pm install team arrived. Removed old unit and installed complete new system by 9:30pm.

So much for ""Los Angeles!"" Called the 844 number Sunday night around 5:30pm for emergency service for my 94 year old grandmothers home and was told that a service person would be giving us a call and be out to us as soon as possible. Flash forward to 96 degrees Monday afternoon and still no call or service! Nana is forced to call to follow up because I'm at work and she's put on hold for A G E S and then told that we were outside their service area. RIDICULOUS.

Waited 3 weeks for my appointment and even rescheduled my appointments to accommodate Goettl's availability. An hour and a half after my appointment time I received a call from them telling me that due to their technicians being busy they'd have to reschedule my appointment. The guy even had the nerve to think I'd reschedule with them.
