My famiIy and I have used Gobie Plumbing for personal and business for many years. When you call you get a prompt answer as to when he can come out for an appointment. If it is an emergency chances are it will be the same day. Phil Gobie is very knowledgeable and knows the older houses and where the pipes run under ground and under the concrete and tile to save a lot of unnecessary demolition to your house and grounds. I highly recommend him.

Just like the other reviewer who was reluctant to write a review, I too think the public should be aware. I had a plumbing leak in my slab, as my house is old. Gobie Plumbing was recommended after I had 3 other plumbing companies come out to tell me to replumb my house, which was not necessary. Gobie initially told me the repair should be around $500.00 to reroute the pipe outside the building. He told me he would replace with copper pipe and weld all fittings. Well instead of welding, he used crimp connections which later leaked. He also charged $1700.00 for work that took perhaps 2 hours and would not disclose the materials cost. Since the leak was on going in the slab I was kinda held over a barrel if you can imagine. At night I had to turn off the water main to the house. It appears Mr. Gobie is not interested in repeat business but making a quick buck. All I can say is buyer be aware.

I was in emergency mode when I turned to Yelp to find a good plumber. I called Gobie Plumbing in the evening and next morning Sunny from Gobie showed up to save my day. This guy was so spot on, professional, thoughtful, kind, and I watched him work the entire time. He explained what he was doing and why, and resolved the problem really well. I thought the charge was reasonable for the work he did outside in the heat and liked he explained the charge, as well. I plan on calling GP next time I have a problem (I hope not soon!) and I want Sunny to come save my day again. Thank you Sunny!

The words honesty and integrity are thrown around pretty loosely these days. Who can you really trust? Being in real estate and managing rental property in Miami for folks all over the world it's very important to """"tell it like it is"""". Sometimes people don't want to hear the truth but sugar coating it isn't doing them any favors. The folks at Gobie definitely give you the full story so you can make an educated decision on how to handle the situation. Competitive but not the cheapest, but you pay for quality. If there's one knock it's the administrative and communication aspect but a few simple follow-ups and one can get a hold of someone. Good job Gobie, thank you. P.S. Hello, I am not familiar with this plumbing company. But I called in and whoever spoke to me was VERY RUDE! Saying that I was harassing the society ? I was just offering the man FREE tickets to a very cool theatre and unique show with good meaning and discount coupons for his family or friends. But I guess that was harassment :(

While I am reluctant to write this review, I feel I've got to put it out there. I am a landlord who lives out of state. My tenant called to tell me there was a leak, & she thinks it's from the water heater. Gobie Plumbing had done some work for me years ago (about 2003), & I thought they were fair, so I gave my tenant their number, as well as the serial number of the water heater. Later, my tenant calls me. She said the plumber was there for 5 minutes, said it's not the water heater & left her with a $150 bill. So I called & spoke to Mr. Gobie himself. He says, based on what the tenant told him, he went & picked up a replacement water heater..which, as it turns out, we didn't need. So he is charging me for the time it took for him to drive in traffic, wait in line, pick up that equipment...and now, return it. Yes, he feels he should charge me for that time he took **before he even visited the apartment** and diagnosed what the problem was. Now, I would have no problem paying for him going to the apartment, & seeing it wasn't the heater. I'm guessing that would be ~$100. But my problem is that he went on what the tenant told him - sure, he thought he was being proactive, but come on - and now he is charging me for the mistake he made. I don't think this is fair. But, in any case...I paid the $150. I have a soft spot in my heart for old-school plumbers who have been in business for 30+ years in Miami. So, why the 3 stars? Because I DO appreciate Mr. Gobie's honesty, that he did not just go ahead & replace the water heater, which would've been a lot more. And I'm sure other plumbers would've done just that. I think fair plumbers are few and far between. I welcome the business to contact me and/or address this review.
