As the founder of GMAC Plumbing & Heating, began my career in the plumbing and pipefitting industry in the Navy as a shipbuilding technician. Following my discharge, I worked with various local plumbing companies, allowing me to acquire a wealth of knowledge in the non-military plumbing and heating field. Having accumulated over 25 years of expertise in the plumbing and heating industry, spanning small bathroom remodels to managing a large-scale mechanical project. I am always informed about innovative solutions that help customers save money on fuel heating bills or plumbing fixtures that conserve water.

I don't even know who I dealt with at GMAC plumbing but I had what was likely the worst business interaction I believe I have ever had. First, I tried calling the listed number but got no answer. Then I submitted a request via their website, which was promptly answered but the initial response was the rudest I think I've ever received. Instead of the person introducing himself, the very first thing I see in the email is ""Their (wrong ""there"" used) will be a $70 service charge for service requested.....). A normal person who is trying to earn business would probably at least say ""thanks for contacting us"" and then let me know in some way who they are by putting their name someplace in the response. Well not this guy. I eventually got an appointment with GMAC, which they cancelled later by email (phone doesn't work??), but there was no offer to reschedule. When I asked if I could reschedule, I was told they had a bigger job and it would be a while but again, no attempt was made to reschedule me. If this person normally operates with this level of acumen, then it makes no sense where all the glowing reviews come from in various places online; the bad ones must be getting deleted. I can't comment on the work, which I hope sets the gold standard for plumbing, because his attitude certainly isn't doing him any favors.
There's a real chance that they are no longer in business. It's hard to say. I called their phone number several times, and each time a robot told me that I had the wrong number and hung up on me. I then contacted them through their website a few weeks ago. Then a couple weeks ago, I tried calling again. This time I got a machine so I left a message. I haven't heard anything back.
If they are still in business, then this has been a real waste of my time.
I cannot say enough great things about GMAC Plumbing & Heating. My family has worked with Glenn on several occasions -- including on emergency plumbing, regular plumbing maintenance, and most recently when he walked me through a house I was considering buying and helped me understand all of the strengths and weaknesses of the plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and air purification systems. Still, I will try to summarize his awesomeness:
1) Glenn is extremely knowledgeable of state and federal regulations for heating, air conditioning, plumbing, fire safety code, etc. This is hugely important.
2) Glenn is an expert in heating systems, air conditioning, etc. He will walk you through the options and also alert you to the future repair costs for different systems.
3) Glenn is very ethical and trustworthy. His prices were more than fair.
My family has thrilled by the work provided by GMAC Plumbing & Heating and cannot recommend him enough!!
We had just moved in to an old home that needed a lot of help fast. Glenn was the first and nearly only plumber to return my call and was out there the next day. Great service, thorough quality repairs to the water line to our fridge and hooking up a new dishwasher (there was A LOT more entailed that it sounds). Definitely would recommend Glenn in a field where reliable service is so hard to find.
Philip P.Glenn installed a new two-filter system with bypass, spending most of the day to make sure it was commercial-quality and free from defects or leaks. He also spent several hours discussing how my heating system works, without offering services/prices until I asked. Then he answered 50 questions by email and offered multiple options for a new boiler based on my budget. Extremely professional, honest, and trustworthy, I would absolutely hire him for future projects.
This is the second time we've used GMAC -he's now our go-to guy for all things plumbing for our properties. He does fantastic work. On the first job, he fixed a leaking hose bib in the pouring rain. If he's there, the work is getting *done* and done right. On the second job he not only fixed a faulty kitchen faucet and a toilet that wouldn't flush, he also checked out our heating system (recently installed by another firm before we knew about GMAC) and he reassured us that the work was top notch. That's what I appreciate most - his honesty and knowledge! If he sees something sub-par, he'll tell you. And if he sees something great, he'll tell you. And he gives advice on how to keep everything running well. We are VERY very happy we found GMAC! :)
