I had a horrible experience with Mike and Tony. Classic scenario: the pipes in my house freeze and start leaking, in 20 degree January, on a Friday morning. The heat had stopped working days before. It's 38 degrees room temperature. The city had shut the water off to stop the flood inside my house. The heater runs on water so I can't fix the heater until a plumber turns on the water and finds the leaks.

I call Glenbrook Plumbing in an emergency. BIG MISTAKE. Mike and Tony come out, look around, see the water everywhere, feel the cold room temperature and decide they don't want to do this job. They told me they can't turn on the water and find the leaky pipes until the heat gets turned on. I told them the furnace runs on water, they told me to ask to use a neighbor's hose to fill the furnace with water, and then they left after 15 minutes and charged me $132 for the visit. The next day I found a plumber who came out the next morning and fixed the plumbing problem and turned on the water all without the heat on. One guy.

These people didn't want to help me because the conditions were not comfortable. They just left me there in an emergency and I never heard from them again.

These are terrible people. Do not reward them with your business!!!

I was very pleased with both of their employees Mike and Tony's workmanship. I have worked as a carpenter for more than 40 years and I know what a good quality job looks like. They re-piped my house with copper in 2 days. They were very professional and left my house very clean.
I will definitely call them for any future plumbing jobs.

My wife and I were in a bind. She was scheduled for surgery in four days and then to return home after a two-day stay in the hospital. Out of the blue our toilets wouldn't flush and our sinks wouldn't drain. We called Glenbrook Plumbing. It turned out that the pipe between our house and the sewer at the street was blocked by gravel that had worked its way into a couple of breaks in the pipe. Alan and Arturo faced a very difficult situation that was compounded by the fact that the only cleanout for that line was in our finished basement. (We have since installed a cleanout outside of the house.) They had to very gingerly drain the water that had built up in the drainpipes in the house before they could tackle routing out the sewer line. Because the problem in that line was gravel rather than simply tree roots, it took them very hard work over two days to get the line to drain. They finished the work the afternoon before my wife went into the hospital, and she was able to return home directly after her hospital stay. If they hadn't done the job they did, she would have had to spend several days in a nursing home until we could have working drains and toilets in the house.

This is a rave review! Glenbrook Plumbing installed a new water heater a couple of years ago for me, so when I suddenly stopped having hot water, I contacted them, spoke with Bill Jr. who tried to get someone out that day, but it was Monday morning so I was fine when Rob arrived the next day. He got something working because I had some hot water, but he expressed concerns in several ways, said he would consult with Bill Jr. When he returned, he told me that I needed a hot water heater specialist, provided name & number, read off the model # & serial # for ease. He even went ahead & replaced the lightbulb that I couldn't reach where the heater was. And he apologized that did all he could but that I would need a specialist.

Well...with all that, I will DEFINITELY call them for general plumbing problems in the future.

My father was a loyal customer of Glenbrook Plumbing for years. After he passed away, I was surprised by the expense of the invoices in his files, as well as a recent repair in one of his rental properties.

The tenant, who grew more comfortable with me, confided in me that the Glenbrook Plumbing representative tried to 'oversell' him on needless services:

""What do you care? You're not paying for it.""

They took advantage of my father, a kind-hearted retired college professor, for a decade.

This is extremely disturbing on a number of levels and I am starting here, by letting folks know. Going to take this up with the BBB and look into legal options, as well.

I have used Glenbrook Plumbing over many years. Recently had them to correct leak under kitchen sink and rework plumbing for dishwasher. Did great job. Definitely recommend.

Very very satisfied customer here! My sump pump broke a couple days ago and the backup had to take over. Unfortunately with all the snow melting and all the rain that we got, the backup pump simply couldn't keep up. We originally got another company to replace the pump and thought that the issue was resolved. They said we needed to replace the whole system and how the pump replacement was just a temporary solution until we got the new system. It seemed to work since water was no longer overflowing but the water level in the pit still seemed high. Today the alarms started beeping for one reason or another so we decided to call Glenbrook plumbing. Bill came out to look at everything and he mentioned that the sump pump wasn't working. Yes, the same pump that was replaced a couple days ago already broke. He offered to replace it but suggested to contact the other company since it might still be under warranty. So we contacted the other company that originally replaced it to see if they can fix it. Keep in mind that we already paid $1400 to the other company just a couple days ago to replace the pump that's already broken after only a couple days. They said that it broke because it was working too hard and that we really need to just get a whole new system. They quoted us $13,000 to get this new system put in and we said we would think about it. We called Glenbrook again and Bill came back out to replace the broken pump. Bill basically gave my brother a crash course on sump pumps and replaced the broken pump for $476! The water in the pit immediately drained and all 3 pumps are now functioning! Bill and Glenbrook Plumbing are getting my business for all my plumbing needs and will be recommending them to the home owners association in the event that any of the other residents ever need help!

First and last time using this Glenbrook plumbing outfit, beware of the chatty plumber, the job should have been done in 3.5 hours instead 5.25 all the talking, and he broke my toilet , trying to tighten a toilet handle and it had nothing to do with the job he was there for a supply lines and angle stops , and pretty much said it was my fault. and then said they gave me the toilet at cost and turned around a charged 6.00 for a .99 cent tube of caulk for a small bead around it and 10.00 for 2 bolts. I guess they are in business to come 1 time rake you over the coals and never come back and to upsell everything plumbing in your home. I will be happy to answer any questions future customers want answered over this truth that happened . My advice go to the next plumber and never use this outfit ever. What a disgrace to the trades.

Loved that they showed up in Masks, gloves, booties.! They had to
remove a dirty, leaky, 50 plus year old vertical sewer pipe. They did a fabulous job, extremely efficient and shockingly clean!
I wouldn't consider using anyone else for any type of plumbing work!
Thank you Bill sr.!

Fast, fair and reasonable. They replaced an ejector pump for today for 80% less than the first plumber I had out quoted me.
