John G.Glenbrook Plumbing was not able to help me with my particular water heater, but I appreciate their candor in letting me know that up front and giving me suggestions on how to find a plumber that can help.
Julie F.I've unfortunately had to use Glenbrook plumbing more that I would like, they've fixed many issues for me - including leaky faucets, faulty toilets, hot water heater replacement, ejector pump failure (2X), clogged toilets (I have boys that like to flush things down the toilet) and most recently a free standing tub with leaky pipes. Bill Jr. Bill Sr. And many of their employees did a fine job. Prices seem fair for the Northshore. They are prompt and dependable which matters most, especially in a plumbing crisis!
Adam D.I took off of work and waited the 2 1/2 hour window that Glenbrook Plumbing gave me. They called after I left for work and said they would be there in 45 mins. I called another company.
When we called our ""go to"" local plumber to install a Kraus KPF-1602 faucet (replacing the Grohe currently installed) we were told there would be a $69 charge to send the plumber out. We were blindsided with a ridiculously high quote to install a kitchen faucet. Not only that, the plumber seemed nervous and uncomfortable with the install claiming it was ""too tight"" and the faucet ""too high end"" and might require two people.
We called Glenbrook and they did the install perfectly in an hour ($160). Rob, who did the install was friendly and helpful and didn't shy away from a bit of a challenge which turned out to be a non-challenge - there was even enough time to call the manufacturer about some tweaks and features of the new faucet.
Am very happy with Glenbrook, our new go-to plumbers!
Nice work, but VERY expensive.
My main sewer drain had clogged after 30 years of living in our home. Ralph and Alan arrived on time and quoted me a price of $385 for up to an hour of ""rooting"" and $47 per quarter hour after that. They proceeded to clean the main drain and remove roots for over 100 feet. They were polite and professional and cleaned up after themselves. They were at the house for 2 1/4 hours and charged me $645.00. After the fact, I looked up a home service cost calculator program on the internet for the work that I had done. The job cost calculator says that a 2.4 hour sewer line job in my area should cost $160.00.
Georgetta E.Very good service! Bill Jr came out the same day for an estimate. He was polite and listened to my concerns, following up with a written estimate via email for the work.
I was able to get quite a bit of work scheduled the same week. The price was fair and they were patient in explaining the details to me. The plumber that came out was fast and straightforward as we discussed the details. They gave me advice on the best way to proceed and left the final decision to me - always a plus in my book.
Really satisfied with their work!
Had the clog of all clogs deep in the wall behind a sink. They were able to get the snake in, around a 90 degree turn 2 feet back in the wall, and open up the line.
I've used them twice, and couldn't be happier. Both times were emergencies and they came out same day and fixed the problems.
Fair price and great service.
I did not have a good experience with Glenbrook Plumbing. They fixed my sink, but when recaulking it, did not take the time to do the entire job, so it looked shoddy. When I called to complain and said that I wanted it to be redone, they came back out to correct it. I paid the bill that day, but then I received a bill in the mail for the second service. When I called to find out if that was a mistake, they said that I owed them for the service because when they originally did the work, they only fixed the part of the sink that was broken. Apparently it was my fault for not being there to see the work being done originally, and that I should have known that they only worked on half of the sink (despite it never being mentioned in the previous bill, nor in the subsequent phone conversations, nor by the repair person who came to correct the original work). When I explained that this was the first time anyone had communicated to me that only part of the sink had been caulked, Bill again said that it was my fault for not being present on the day. Even though I was present for the second repair, they chose to send a different person than had done the original work, so I couldn't have a conversation with anyone to understand what was being done this time vs the original repair. Either way, shoddy job originally, complete lack of accountability, and lack of customer concern. I would recommend that you look to hire another plumber.
Based on my initial experience with Glenbrook Plumbing, I thought I had found my go to plumbing service. Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience the last time I used this business.
I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1 because the owner and his son are phenomenal, and I would trust these guys with any plumbing project. But the same cannot be said for the employee who worked on our toilet. He didn't fix it, and he made the problem worse.
If you use Glenbrook Plumbing, I recommend asking for Bill Jr. or Bill Sr.; these guys are knowledgeable, dedicated, and their invoices include reasonable charges.
