Launched in 1946 as Ed Glassman Plumbing & Heating, founder Ed Glassman grew the startup into a prominent player in local contracting. After years of dedication in 1972, Joseph's dad, Adolph and his associate, Charles Staab acquired the company and rebranded it as Glassman/Staab Inc.

Continuing his father's legacy, Joe Glassman started Glassman Climate Control in the town of Russell, Kansas in the early 1980s. In 1985, he acquired his father's company, combined it with Glassman Climate Control and shifted the headquarters from Russell to Hays. With the expansion of Glassman's mechanical and building services, the name was updated to Glassman Corporation in 1991.
