Established in 1946 as Ed Glassman Plumbing & Heating, the visionary Ed Glassman transformed the young business into one of the busiest contracting firms in the region. In 1972, after years of service, Joseph's dad, Adolph with partner Charles Staab took over the business and renamed it Glassman/Staab Inc.

Continuing his father's legacy, Joe Glassman launched Glassman Climate Control in Russell, Kansas in the year 1980. He bought his father's business in 1985, integrated it into Glassman Climate Control and shifted the headquarters from Russell to Hays. As Glassman's range of building and mechanical services grew, the business was renamed Glassman Corporation in 1991.
