We've used G/K plumbing for over 45 years. They know exactly what to do, and what not to do. They're very well experienced, and always on time. Do it right the first time. Don't make the mistake of not calling them the first time; because if you don't call them the first time, you may end up calling them the second time to fix the problems that other plumbers weren't able to fix.

Be careful how long it takes for the plumber, in this case Dave, to get into your house, haul his tools in, and reload his truck when finished. I was quoted a fee when I called, but was charged $21. more for ""travel time"".
He explained I had to pay for time to get in and out of the residence and time it took to haul his stuff in. By my calculation he was in the house for 45 minutes, so the extra charge was more than 15 minutes. The work done was fine, no problems.

An original cast-iron drainpipe in our 1939 Spanish home in Mission Hills started to leak. The pipe was located in our dining room ceiling (directly beneath an upstairs bathroom) and dining room wall. Having recently remodeled our bathroom, our hope was that required access could be obtained via the ceiling and an adjacent closet wall; thus, sparing our new bathroom stone floor and wall tile.

I invited 4 plumbers to provide a quotation, three of which came on-site. It was immediately obvious that Dave, G/K Plumbing & Heating, has extensive experience with these types of old-home plumbing issues. After a quick inspection, he outlined his solution even naming the parts that would be required for this ""time and materials"" job. Of the three plumbers who provided estimates, Dave was the one with a clear vision that provided us with a sense of confidence that he could do the job without causing any further damage to the rest of the existing old cast-iron which we would not be replacing while also preserving our bathroom remodel.

Our desire to hire Dave, G/K Plumbing & Heating, for the job was initally complicated by his busy schedule. However, since he really seemed to have experience above and beyond our other two options, we decided to wait for his availability. He was well-worth the wait.

Dave was able to preserve our bathroom 100%. His work was clean and professional. His bill/invoice was refreshingly honest and accurate. We would definitely hire him again without hesitation.

Slab leak in the garage. Another company located the hidden leak and GK came in the next day. Leak locators missed the leak, but GK jack hammered to finally locate it. Leak repaired under difficult conditions. Very professional, informative and friendly. On time, met their estimate and assisted in locating a polybutylene repair company for my latest problem. GK has a long history of positive results in our community.

Shout out to GK plumbing! I've used them for years and have been very happy. It's nice having a good relationship with your local small businesses for sure. Over the years, GK has helped me with all kinds of things from broken toilets and worn out water heaters to plumbing a gas line to our fireplace and many, many other things. I can depend on them for quick, reliable, reasonable and competent service.

This morning, my garbage disposal ate something that didn't agree with it and jammed up. I don't have the tool that came with it, so I thought it would be a call to the plumber and a day arranged around getting the thing fixed.

I called Dave at GK and he told me to try an Allen wrench. He took the time to suggest the best method for unsticking the jam once I had the wrench and how to safely inspect for any debris that might have clogged the works in the first place.

Success! I unjammed my own disposal! I am feeling grateful and empowered!

Do not use! They will charge you an additional $125.00 for round trip driving!! So for a service call, to tell me my heater did not work Steve charged me $250!! Very unethical practices! Look else where and save yourself some money!

I recently needed for a wall furnace to be installed in my house prior to it going on the market for sale. The time frame was kind of short and I contacted a plumber I'd used in the past and didn't get my call returned for 3 days. My neighbor recommended Steve at G-K and I called them. My call was answered immediately and Steve came out a day or two later, looked at the job, and provided me sound advice on how to proceed. An appointment was scheduled for several days later and Steve did a professional installation of the furnace.
